((Reserved for shdwdrgn))
Lora sat at the corner of a four-way intersection near the center of the Abandoned District, wearing a heavy white coat with her hands stuffed into her black jean pockets. To the naked eye, she was alone, but the truth was far different.
"How you guys doin'?" Lora chimed into a walky-talky.
A series of digitized voices then replied,
"A-okay."
"Roger roger!"
"Pretty good."
"Status is nominal."
"Ready to shoot something!"
"Good to hear! Keep your eyes open for our guests... and any uninvited visitors." Lora replied briskly, smirking.
"Affirmative." The voices replied simultaneously.
Lora sighed, stuffing the walky-talky back into her coat pocket. It was nearing the midnight hour, the pre-determined time set for Kris and Volk to arrive to their spot. She smiled, thinking about how the reunion would go, then snickered at the fact she managed to get this many of O'Malley's troops for something he called 'too damned stupid'.
"You're SOL, Kilroy... I win again." She chuckled under her visible breath.
She shifted on her feet, glancing about. No lights lit the area, other than the full moon above her head, yet she and the 50 hidden Machinima residents nearby could see just fine. She scratched her ear, musing aloud,
"When're you guys gonna show...?"

Volk was sitting on a nearby roof checking everything out before he moved towards Lora in the middle of the mechanical fence surrounding the area. He waited a few minutes and watched as a lone out of place figure retreated into her house.
Something's wrong with that one. Nothing I can do about it though.
He dropped to the ground and moved towards Lora in brisk but non-aggressive manner.
"So you actually got the tin man to help you, indirectly it would seem since he's not jumping down my throat at present. Isn't this a bit escessive though", he questioned.
The night air was chill for him though he still had his regular clothes on.
--------------------
Kris was still a fair ways outside of the area as she began to move in wary that there might be creatures and entities that would react strangely to her sneaking around.
She muttered under her breath, "damn I hate having to sneak around like this even if I am skilled at it. It just makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong."
She continued her way towards the abandoned district like Lora had said even though she planned to be there just a little late so that she could be certain she wasn't being followed by another Nightpeak.

Lora smirked at Volk, slapping him on the shoulder with a brisk laugh.
"Nonsense! I want this thing to go off without a hitch, and Tenkyanon bots sure-as-hell know how to secure a perimeter, and keep it secure. Right boys?!"
A chorus of mehcanical shouts echoed through the area, yet despite the noise they made, none of the bots could be seen.
"They know how to keep hidden as well. What little scent they have are masked, and all of 'em are using optical cloaking devices, as well as heat-repressing fields... or something. I dunno, too much technical mumbo-jumbo. The fact is, they're here, sneaky, and will make sure you and your friend get to meet without a problem. Got it?" She stated, wagging a reproving finger at Volk's face.
Abruptly, her walky-talky crackled, and she held it up to her face.
"Go ahead."
"Lone contact seen making way here, ma'am. Description matches that of the target. Shall I escort?"
"Hmm... no, wait until she gets within about a quarter of a mile before doing so. Got it?"
"Got it. Over." The voice on the other end finished.
Lora sighed, then flipped the device back into her pocket. She looked to Volk, and informed,
"Seems like only a small amount of time, Berg... what're you gonna say?"

"I honestly have no clue what to say to her, I was actually planning on letting her say what she wanted to first so that I can get a better grasp of how she's changed. I haven't talked with her in almost two decades", he replied as he rocked on his heels waiting for Kris to arrive.
"I really do wish that the Nightpeak weren't driven to the madness that they currently display but I couldn't stand there and take such abuse day in and out. I'm hoping she feels the same way as she was treated just as absurdly as I was if not worse even."
He waited uncomfortably for Kris to draw in and initiate the conversation.
damn what is going through your head Kris? I really wanted you to stay safe with the Nightpeak and yet you risk yourself like this.
--------------------
Kris had come close to the backyard of a house as she drew in closer to the meeting location. She still couldn't see hear or smell Lora or Volk. Though she had a creepy feeling of being stalked by several alien entities.
Why must it be in a human area? I always get the chills when I come here, it makes me sick. But what the heck is it around here that makes me feel like I'm being tailed?
She crawled around the house moving slowly to see if she could catch wind of the things that might possibly be following her if they existed that is.
"Alright I have an odd feeling about this so may as well wait right here a moment to see if this feeling leaves me", she muttered.
She hunched down to hide herself from view in the grass and next to the home and waited for her nerves to calm down a bit.
God Volk would be laughing at me right now if he saw this. He'd probably say, "What are you doing down there?! You have the ability to sneak around them and turn the tables with ease. Yet you refuse to use it like it's a curse. I'm telling you this is an incredible gift Kris, embrace it." Yeah that sounds like him.

Lora sighed, patting Volk's upper back as she replied sadly,
"I'm sure she does, Volk... otherwise, she wouldn't be risking her life to see you, would she?"
The walky-talky crackled again, and Lora scowled, turning it on and speaking into it again.
"What now?!"
"Well, ma'am... she, uhh... she stopped."
"...stopped? Is she hurt or something?"
"No, I'm not sure what the problem is... she seems to be hiding. From what, I can't say... no other heat signatures nearby, and I highly doubt she saw or heard us. What should we do?"
Lora rubbed the bridge of her nose, then replied,
"Back off a bit, and let her be. If she doesn't go in five minutes, go down there and tell her yourselves, affirmative?"
"Affirmative. Over." The faceless bot replied.
Lora shook her head, muttering,
"I think she's getting paranoid... when I saw her in the park, she was a nervous wreck, even before she mentioned you..."

"Well all I can say is that it definitely sounds like what she'd do. She always had a nasty intuition about being followed, though there are times where she's known to get paranoid. The Nightpeak typically don't send watchers but given her mission it's likely that they have regular checkups on her", he said.
Meanwhile Kris was still feeling awkward about her position. She lit up one of her claws and rushed in a general direction sending a minor fireball into the grass setting it ablaze.
"Come out now before I get serious! I'm not joking around here whoever or whatever you are", she commanded.
She remained standing and shifted into her Gauru form intending to eliminate this pest before she met up with Volk as to keep their talk from being interupted.

The sound of muffled jets came to Kris's attention as two Veritech fighters shifted into their Battloid modes and dropped their cloaking fields, landing on one knee a dozen feet from Kris, hands in the air so as to not concern her with the prospect of weapons.
"Apologies, ma'am. We're from Lora Ravenloft's reconnisance team, and well, are supposed to scout the area for someone by the name of Kris, and follow any others entering the specified meeting area. Might you be Kris, ma'am? If so, we can escort you to the meeting place..." One of them stated, looking up at her.
The other one remained silent, waiting to see what Kris's response was.
* * * * * * * *
"Scout Valkyrie #'s 3 and 4 have made contact with the suspect, Lora ma'am. Waiting for confirmation on identity." Lora's walky-talky crackled.
"Good. Don't do anything hasty, regardless of what she does. If she attacks, defend only."
"Acknowledged, over."

Volk stood at full height and began to move towards the position where Kris had let loose and the stalking mechs. As he walked he shifted into Gauru form as he knew this likely wouldn't end well if he didn't.
Kris was still standing there not sure if she should believe these things or not. They reeked of unnatural smells and almost reminded her of the filthy vehicles humans drove around.
"I have no idea what you things are but I do not intend to go anywhere with you." She muttered in a lor voice, "Humans and their destructive technology."
Volk was just turning around the corner of the building that Kris was near. He shot out some ice and put out the minor blaze.
He quickly spoke to Kris catching her off guard. She turned on him in a heartbeat and lunged at him. She bared her fangs as she leapt, attempting to bite him. He waited and let her make contact though he turned her head away and parried her attack.
The two rolled backwards into the street with Volk sitting on top of Kris who was trying to break free of his pin.
“You honestly didn’t think you could take out the one who taught you all your basic combat moves now did you… Kris”, Volk said in a cocky manner.
Kris suddenly stopped thrashing about as she finally took the time to look at who was pinning her to the ground. She stared in an awkward manner as she began to realize that it was Volk who had pinned her to the ground.
“Volk… is that really you”, she inquired.
Volk got off her and pulled her upright since she had stopped wrestling with him. Her confused stare turned into one of joy as she dove into his torso, both having reverted to human form, and hugged him tightly.
“My god Volk it is you. I’ve missed you so much since you were locked away in that cavern”, she said into his body. “The Nightpeak are not the proud pack they once were. They’ve fallen into the superstition your father used to lock you away. Not to mention the Elders sit idly by as the pack decays into a primal state of chaos.”
Volk held Kris away from his body at this point and looked her dead in the eyes.
“The Nightpeak are not my concern anymore but if they truly do fall down the path you speak of then it won’t be very long until they come to bad terms with the Darkwood. That I cannot allow”, he said. “As you may already know I am now a member of the Darkwood pack and they are the ones I will protect should the need arise.”
Kris stared at him in amazement realizing that Lora had told her the truth back in the park about Volk having become a Darkwood and abandoning the Nightpeak name.

"I feel insulted... she thinks we're human tech..." One of the Veritech fighters muttered.
"That's one of the worst things that could be said..." The other sighed, staring at the ground.
Just then, Lora skidded to a stop nearby, having chased after Volk when he heard the fiery explosion. Shifting out of her Gauru form as she rounded the corner that brought her to their location, then stopped herself. She waved angrily at the two Valkyries to leave the area, and they nodded, both rocketing off into the sky in their Fighter modes. Lora sighed, then looked back at Kris and Volk, smiling lightly at the two.
"I'll leave you two be, then..." She muttered, then rounded back around the corner.
She waited on the other side of the building, still being able to catch the conversation with her keen hearing.
I hate to pry, but... I just can't stand to miss out on their reunion. Please forgive me! She thought with a sheepish grin.

"Why are you doing this Kris?! You're risking your life just to see me. Why didn't you stay in the pack like I told you to two decades ago? You would still be safe at least", he said in a raised tone.
Kris still carried a blank stare. She was in shock that the first words out of his mouth spoken towards her in twenty years was a lecture.
SMACK!
Volk's left cheek was red from an open handed shot to his face. He merely lifted a hand and rubbed it. He looked from his hand to Kris.
She really did just do that... normally she would be cowering from this sort of treatment. She really had taken my words to heart then even after we had been separated from each other so long ago.
"I'm here because I... I...", she stumbled over this statement a few times before stopping herself completely in embarrassment. Her halted words led to an awkward silence. Volk stood there with an expectant look upon his face, not knowing if she would come forward with the answer or not.

"Oy... this isn't getting them anywhere. Guess I 'ought to help, then!" Lora muttered to herself.
The white lycan promptly tilted her head back, and yelled,
"She came here because she loves you, Volk! She told me herself- you mean the world to her! She would never dream of harming you, even if it means being hunted down by the Nightpeak!"
She smiled, and while still yelling, lowered her voice slightly.
"Why else would she risk her own life to defy her own pack, and venture into dangerous areas she's never been before? Answer me that, Volk... your relationship goes beyond friendship, or so it would seem to me."
There. That should get them going, if a little rough anyway. She mused with a toothy smirk.

"Thank you Lora...", he called out. "So is that what you've been meaning to say and why you are here?"
Kris nodded.
"Well are you sure you can take leaving the pack entirely? It's not an easy task to do, you'll likely be hunted for this as well since it is a sign of treason given the type of orders you have", he warned.
"It's nothing to me if I can be with you", she muttered now in full submissive mode.
Volk rubbed his face in confusion.
What the hell do I do? The girl I've known since I was a child, as a sister practically, is standing here in front of me with her love now fully confessed to me.
He just leaned against the wall. His mind was just about blown here. He slowly slid down the wall to the ground.
"What's wrong Volk? Why are you acting this way", she asked.
"I just have no idea what to say right now", he said running his hand through his hair. "You're really in love with me, even though we've been like siblings to each other?"
"Yes."
"And you can see no other way of going on in life besides being with me?"
Kris nodded.
Volk sat there speechless. He shook his head once having no honest clue what to say or do.

"You could always join Darkwood, like Volk did!" Lora suggested from her hearing point, then clapped her hands over her mouth, giggling quietly.
I just can't stop tonight, can I...? She thought bemusedly.
She sighed, then leaned back, waiting for the conversation to pick up again. Her thoughts went back to O'Malley, and his recent odd mindset. She scowled, frustrated at her inability to learn what was going on.
"Whoever you are, 'Neresa'... I'm going to find you, and beat the answers out of you." She muttered to herself.

Volk was still sitting there unsure whether Lora's idea was a good one or not. Kris however, moved over to the corner of the building where she could see Lora clearly.
"Did you just say Neresa? I met someone with that name not too long ago", she said timidly.
Volk was still in his own world deciding on what would be good for Kris. When neither Lora nor Kris's attention were on him he slipped off behind the house and moved off to another house for a while in the distance.
She's old enough to make her own choices but I still feel like I should be protecting her. My only concern is if she knows what she would be getting into if she tagged along with me in some areas. I want her to be truly happy but I'm not entirely sure if I can ensure that if she's with me.
Just then the person residing in this house came out of the back door.
"You know you give off a bad vibe quite late at night. I'm already in a sad state of mind so if you don't mind could you go somewhere else", the person asked in a feminine voice.
"I'm sorry but there's a lot on my mind at the moment. I really am sorry I disturbed you", he said to the female.
"You know you can solve this problem pretty easily right? It may sound cruel but if you truly are concerned with her happiness and you feel that it's in her best interest to forget about you then you may need to break her heart. After all it could save her the agony of losing you later in life", the woman said.
"You speak in a very tormented manner for one of your age. Why is your heart filled with so much grief that you would suggest such a cruel solution to another's problem", Volk inquired.
"Because my love was stolen from me before my eyes. The pain of a heart denied is nothing compared to that of a love shattered to pieces by that of another force", she replied in a cold manner.
"What is your name child", he asked.
"Mercurio", she answered.

Lora's eyes abruptly widened, and something in her snapped. She was holding Kris by the shoulders and practically pinning her to the wall as she barked,
"You did?! Where? Was it a she? Did she look like a bug?! Where is she?! Who is she?! What does she have to do with O'Malley?! TELL ME damnIT! I NEED TO KNOW!!"
At this point she was virtually shaking Kris in her state of emotinal panic, then abruptly gapsed and let go.
"S-sorry... I... I need to know... it's important to me." She apologized, taking a few steps back, looking ashamed.
