Four Cromian Drones encircled a single humanoid entity, all snarling an prepared to rip him apart. This familiar humanoid was sheathed in dark-purple, jagged, angular armor, of which covered everything but his head. Said noggin was concealed by a hooded cloak, the cloak concealing a set of something on his back. A pair of red-orange eyes shone out from the hood as a massive, 9-foot long broadsword was pulled forth from the cloak, the blade spinning around in the air before leveling with the biomechanical monstrosities.
"I just got back from a war, mother-f*ckers! I'm still chalk-full of bloodlust and testosterone! See if you can keep up!" The armored being roared with a smirk in his voice.
The first Cromain, what could be described as an anthropomorphic praying-mantis, rushed forward, brandishing two scythe like claws. He fell as the blade sang through the air, picking up speed before it cleaved the beast in half, then followed through by splitting those halves in half as well. Before it could regenerate, a blast of acid flew from the hood, dissolving the fourths and allowing the sludge to dribble into the river nearby.
The second and third began firing beam weapons, of which were intercepted by the wide blade. Before they could recover, one erupted in a ball of flames, his charred body parts flying through the air. The next had what appeared to be a spear made of diamond run through his skull, causing the surrounding areas to become frozen. Said Cromian fell apart when fully frozen. The fourth Cromian, a bulky bio-creature with tank-treads for feet and three-barreled cannons for arms, backed up a few steps before charging forward once more, roaring as he went. The armored creature simply 'hmped', grabbing the beast as it impacted and hoisting the Cromian into the air.
The humanoid let loose a powerful bellow into the Cromian's face, making its single reptillian eye widen before a fist was smashed through it. The other claw lashed forward and ripped the skull in half, then split the rest of it down the middle with the large sword before it too, suffered the same fate as the first Cromian. Nodding, the armored entity sighed, taking a seat on a river-side rock and stabbing the swor dinto the ground.
"I wonder what I missed while I was gone..." He muttered.

Myrr had been taking a leisurely 'stroll' above the forest on her wings, when she heard the distinct sound of a battle. Curious and worried, she dove down to the source, seeing the blade wielding being finish off the last Cromian. Something about the cloaked being just clicked in her mind for some reason, and she had to venture a guess.
"Shive? Is that you?"

The cloaked figure lashed around, looking ove rhis shoulder. In the shadows of the hood, a sharp-toothed grin formed.
"That'd be correct, m'lady!" Shive barked.
He spun around on the rock so he could face her. For some odd reason, Shive's tail wasn't visible, and his wings were concealed under the cloak. He seeme dto be keeping the light out of the hood so his face wasn't visible, and he wore gauntlets over his clawed hands.
"How ya doin?" He asked, cocking his head.

"Great!" Myrr beamed, suddenly very energetic...
And all of a sudden, she pounced on him, glomping the dragonkin to the ground.
"OH! I missed you so much Shive! I know you weren't gone for that long, but I still missed you!" the half-dragon said, clutching Shive close.
Xeno-Myrr pulled herself out of Myrr's shadow, and smiled at the two. "We both missed you," the hybrid corrected.

Shive laughed, placing a hand on Myrr's head.
"Aww, I missed both of you too! Even I can stand mass amounts of bloodshed and destruction for so long..."
As he sat up, his hood accidentally fell back, revealing his head.
"SH*T!"
As he scrambled to put it back on, where Shive's scales should've been a ranging tone of brown, they were, in fact... gray. His mane had appeared white, but dissapeared in the scramble before the hood was placed back. He growled, muttering,
"Uhh... you didn't see that..."

Myrr wasn't buying it though, and tenatively reached a hand up to Shive's face. Now she was worried something bad happened while he was gone, and she wanted to know what had happened.
"Shive... what are you hiding?" the half dragon asked, getting up and hauling Shive back to his feet. She gazed at the dragonkin's face, trying to discern wat had changed under the hood.
Xeno-Myrr's jaw was agape, for she had seen the changes as well, but didn't dare ask about them... yet...

Shive sighed, then ripped off the cloak, tossing it to the side. His scales had turned a metallic gray, turning a lighter shade on the front of his midsection, chest, and just below the neck. His mane was a pearly white, some of the blades almost being transluscent. Other than that, the dragonkin looked fine as he stripped off his gauntlets, let his wings unfold, and his tail unwrap around his midsection.
"This is one of the few negative things about the 'training' I told you about before I left." He stated.
He sighed again, the gave Myrr a worried look.
"Told you I'd be different."

Myrr nibbled on her lower lip, shrugged, and glomped the dragonkin again, who managed to stay upright this time.
"It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, as long as its still you on the inside." she replied.
Xeno-Myrr smiled as well, "Same here. Its still you on the inside, so who cares what changes took place on the outside."

Shive grinned, replying,
"Heh, if you say so. I'm just glad to be back..."
He paused, looking as if he was concentrating as his chin jutted out.
"Though I do tend to hack up a lot of fluid when I'm casting spells now... ah well."
He hugged Myrr around the midsection and hefted her onto his right shoulder, doing the same with Xeno, but using hi left shoulder.
"Anything important happen while I was gone?"

Myrr shrugged.
"Not much... But... Spite's gone... We had no choice but to destroy him after he was... 'infected.'" Myrr replied, sighing sadly.
"He didn't deserve to die..."
Suddenly... Her body locked up as visibly as a very cold 'wave' passed over her senses... like something really bad had happened. In her eyes was a look of sheer horror, conveying this feeling.

"Oh... that's a shame..." He muttered.
He paused, spotting Myrr's look.
"Myrr? Are you-"
He stopped dead as the scales on his neck stood on-end, and a similar feeling hit him. His eyes narrowed, and he muttered quietly,
"Last time I felt this... was when..."
His eyes widened, and he rose his muzzle to the air, nostrils flaring. His keen nostrils detected a faint, foul stink on the air, and his fists clenched.
Smells like.... brimstone... but... the only place that could smell like that is-
He snapped his head towards the volcano, of which was covered by a deep, dark cloud of ash that gave the feeling of dark night over it. He could see an orange glow surrounding the edge of the crater, and he boomed,
"THE VOLCANO?! HOW?!"

"Some super powerful force must have revived the volcano's activity," Xeno-Myrr speculated, clenching her fists. "Whatever's going on there, we can be certain that Solranous is there, kicking *ss and taking names."
Oh how wrong she was...
Myrr gulped, "If something there can reactivate the volcano... could Solranous really beat it? I mean... I know Solranous has beaten people whose power surpassed his own before... but this might just be too much..."

Shive crossed his arms, scowling at Myrr.
"Your lack of faith dissapoints me. He's gone up against worse and come out on top! You should know that!"
He paused as the breaking of limbs came to his attention, and a large, 9-foot tall humanoid shape stumbled out of the trees.
An angular, ’muscular’ humanoid mecha with a chrome/dark-gray coloration started it off. Angular, dark-blue ‘armor’ covered most of its head, shins, forearms, upper chest (and most of back), pelvis, and shoulders; the shin and forearm plating’s tops/front were shaped like diamonds, and the shoulder plates resembled diamonds with the bottom point flattened. A three-pointed ‘star’ made of silver metal adorns its chest, with a green, semi-transparent hemisphere set into it’s center, as well as a three-pointed silver crest adorning the forehead (one point jutting off to each side, and one pointing straight up). Its eyes were a pure green, and if one looked close enough, they could see a sort of ‘pupil’ behind the semi-transparent material. A pair of face-plates maked up everything on the face below the eyes, and its fists/feet were a metallic black color, with round, silver ‘studs’ adorning each knuckle. A triangular blade adorned the back of each forearm, and a pair of 5-foot long, black rods was positioned on either side of the wings. Said wings were black as well, and were shaped much like a stretched-out triangle, with the points flattened. An octagonal hole was set in the center of its back, positioned between the two rods and the wings.
It blinked before stumbling into a shallow section of the river, steam issuing from the metal composing its frame. It grunted as it tried to rise to its feet, swaying as it did so. The entity brushed itself off casually, as if nothing happened, then paused, looking up at the three half-dragons. It 'blinked' again, muttering,
"...well that's new... I must've been gone longer than I thought..."
"Date says 2008. You were only gone for about three years." Another voice stated from the entity.
"WHAAAAAT?! It's only been three-f*cking-years?! But-but-but-"
"SHUT UP! The date says 2008, and I KNOW you're not insinuating my sensors are broken!"
The mechanical entity slumped, sighing.

The two Myrrs blinked in shock, before the light half asked, "Um... who are you?"
The dark half just nodded, wanting to know the answer to the same question.

((Blahblahblahblah-*smacked with newspaper*))
The entity swiveled back around to face them, eyes widened.
"They talk?!" He whispered to himself.
He 'coughed', then folded his arms behind him, repyling,
"Weeell... name's Akira Tobayushi, but you can call me Varion. Who're you three, if you don't mind me asking, and where am I?"
The entity glanced around, scratching the back of his head.
