Cynder had silently lead Mortis to the house of that one particular emerald wyrm, the one who helped her, along with Shive and Genesic GaoGaiGar. The black wyrmling glanced back at her, if only temporary, companion and said, "Wait here for a second."
She walked up to the door and knocked on it, waiting for a few seconds, before the door opened of its own accord.
"Welcome, Cynder, and who might your little friend here be? I assume you just recently met him?" Solranous asked, allowing the two of them entrance. Despite the cheery voice in his words, his facial features were sullen.
"Solranous... What's wrong?" Cynder asked.
"The mental signatures of X, Reizus, Gaigan, and Ocrimus have recently vanished without a trace, meaning only one possible conclusion... They have died. I knew of their predicament, but refrained from helping, realizing the wanted to have honor as their deaths came... They were warriors till the end."
"Oh... Wait! The aparoid threat-"
"Is a non factor. They did not save my life then, to save them there would not repay a debt, but create one, one they did not wish to have. But I digress, enough of this depressing topic."
The emerald dragon focused his attention on Mortis, "As you have heard, my name is Solranous, whom might you be?"

Mortis blinked, his eyes slightly wide at the emerald dragon.
He looks almost exactly like that red dragon that showed up before I left... Mortis thought.
He snapped back into reality, and meekly replied,
"Uh, Mortis."
He glanced from side to side, taking in the current setting. He remembered something Shive had told him back in Arux di Itmen...
"Well, in this world, beings such as us... don't really fit in. The people of this world would freak out if they knew about us, even if they knew the truth, the fact we're saving them on a daily basis. So my friends and I are forced to hide out in remote, hidden places that humans wouldn't normally go to."
Mortis nodded to himself, understanding now. He shifted from foot to foot nervously.

"An interesting name, Mortis. And I look like that red dragon because the being who turned me into this based my form off of his. Or so I'm told."
Solranous sighed, remembering Artecaex.
"I just wish I could have helped him sooner, so that he wouldn't have to go through such pain. But, fate has its way of making things the way they are."
"Solranous, who are you talking to?"
The corners of the dragon's lips curled up, as he glanced towards the door Kisara had just come through.
"Good evening, Kisara, I was just about to call for you. The young blue wyrmling here is Mortis. And Mortis, she is one of my closest friends, closer to my heart then any other, Kisara."
Kisara walked to and bent down to Mortis' level, "Hi there!"
Solranous laughed, now I know where Myrr get's her sometimes 'bubbly' attitude from, Kisara just casted a quick glare his way, before shrugging it off.
"And Mortis, do not be worried, None of us would want to harm random people for no reason, if that is indeed what you are worried about."

Mortis's eyes widened as he paled visibly.
Oh god... he's a telepathic... He thought, shaking somewhat visibly.
He managed to get a hold of himself long enough to reply to Kisara.
"H-hello."
He took an involuntary step backwards as he sat on his haunches, knowing he wouldn't be able to go anywhere for a while. And the fact it was with someone who could read his mind was... unsettling. He knew it wasn't Solranous's fault, but Mortis had always had a deep fear of telepathic beings... considering what kind of role they had played in his earlier years. The thought made him shudder again.
He wanted to leave this place as soon as possible.

"I'm sorry." Solranous suddenly apologized. Kisara turned to cast him a questioning glance, but didn't ask about it.
"Had I known you had a bad history with telepaths, I would never have revealed that fact. I deeply apologize from reawakening any hurtfu memories."
Kisara looked back to Mortis, pity in her eyes. She walked towards the blue wyrmling and picked him up, hugging him.
"He probably needs that," Solranous noted to Kisara, who mentally nodded in response.
"I hate it when children like you have such hard lives. If theres anything we can do to help, don't hesitate to ask." she told the wyrmling she now held to her shoulder in the hug.

Mortis blinked, clearly surprised from such an action. He honestly didn't know what to do. His eyes slowly watered over, and he tried blinking it away, but to no avail. He bit his lip and sobbed, muttering,
"Th-thank you..."
He paused, then was about to continue when a strange feeling shot through his mind. He started shaking violently as his eyes dialated, and he screamed,
"WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH ME? GO AWAY!"
A shadowy entity, a little taller than Solranous, stood in the center of the street, its form blotted out by darkness, yet two yellow eyes shone through the shadows. Yet only Mortis was the only one who could see it. The figure stretched out a clawed hand and hissed,
"You have something I need, son of Bagan. Your soul."
Mortis unconsciously broke free of Kisara's hold and backed up down the street, eyes still focused on the entity only he could see.
"WHO ARE YOU?" He screamed.
The monstrous figure merely smirked, then replied,
"Let's just say I work for the one who enslaved your father so long ago."
Mortis's scales stood on end, and his eyes shrank as the figure clenched its outstretched claw, then 'evaporated'.
I'll be back. Mortis heard it say one last time.
Then, Solranous heard the voice.
You're that annoying green lizard that had a grudge against Nazo, aren't you?

"You are somewhat mistaken. It was another version of myself that held the grudge, I only fought him because he threatened all that I held dear at that time. And as long as I draw breath, I will protect the young wyrmling. To get him, you will have to go through me." Solranous growled.
Kisara shuddered when she had looked at the shadowy figure, something about it just creeped her out. Something told her that thing was going to be a problem later on.
Cynder just looked at everyone in turn, wondering just what the hell happened.

Mortis was frozen in place, staring at the last area where the entity had stood.
He wants... my soul? Why? He thought.
Mortis realized the figure was gone, and sighed in relief. However, he couldn't shake the feeling he was still being watched by it. Mortis's eyes widened when something came to mind.
Wait a minute... Bahamut told me Dogolas was destroyed! Why would one of his minions be looking for me?! He thought, paling.
Because you have access to a part of him. That's why you're required. The voice hissed.
Mortis's eyes shrank again, and the voice continued,
However, I'm willing to leave you alone for a while. There's things I have to do first, so you'd best enjoy your time while you have it.
Mortis's claws dug into the pavement.
Just tell me one thing before you 'leave'... who are you? He asked.
A chill laugh washed over Mortis's mind, and the being replied openly, into all minds present,
I am called Draethik.
The feeling of being watched left Mortis, and he almost collapsed. He was staring at the sky, hoping that being wouldn't return for a long time...

"Impossible... He was killed in battle! Sealed away for all eternity! How did he survive, let alone escape?" Solranous questioned, drawing the attention of everyone present.
"You know who that is?" Kisara asked.
"I wished I didn't, that monstrous being first appeared when that damn Nazo assailed both Myrr and myself when we spoke to Lora, a werewolf. The last time I felt his mental signature was when he was sealed away by Yog-Sothoth, whom I don't entirely understand the details of. I should have known it was him because it was so similar, but he must have been dead for so long that I didn't bother referencing it to any that I knew...
And I get the feeling Armageddon was somewhat behind his ressurection, at least bringing a part of him to his real master... Mortis, I swear I'll use all of my power and abilities to stop him when he attempts anything. You have my word on that."
Kisara smiled to the dragon, "Always the benevolent one, aren't you Solranous? Helping someone as much as you can."
Solranous nodded, "It is in my nature to help others, considering back then. But I digress again, enough of this subject. Mortis, if you have no where else to stay; I'll let you rest here, and it will give me more time to react if Draethik comes by again."

Mortis shifted from foot to foot.
"I appreciate the offer, but I'm staying at Shive's place."
He paused, looking behind Solranous, then his face turned a chalky white. Someone was standing behind Solranous. A familiar, chitinous someone.
Draethik resembled a cross between his third and second forms, not as bulky as the third, but not as lithe as the first; somewhere in-between. He retained all the other features of his third form, just a bit less bulky. He now had four eyes instead of two, both of which didn’t have eyelids. His eye color was a haunting golden-yellow, lacking pupils. His coloration was probably the most drastic change, however: The yellow-orange chitin that covered most of his body was now a dark lime green (lightening as it moves inward to the chest), the gray chitin was now a shade of dark purple, and the eight glowing protrusions on his chest were a light orchid color.
He gave a lipless smirk as he glanced directly at Solranous, stating,
"And yes, your former master did have to do with this. There was a chunk of my flesh left after being absorbed by Yog-Sothoth, and Armageddon got his aparoid-freaks to fetch it so the demon could bring it back to my former master. In return, Dogolas..."
Draethik drifted off, then abruptly jabbed a claw at Cynder.
"Gave him that." He finished.
Draethik then lept up onto the top of Solranous's house, before proclaiming,
"And I honestly don't give a sh*t if Dogolas is dead or not! I just want his power for my own! And in order to do that, I need the son of Bagan. In the meantime, I'll be hanging around Pandemonium for about a month or so. Ta!"
He turned around, then jabbed a thumb towards the sky.
"Oh, and I'd be more worried about that than me right now." He stated, before vanishing completely.
What looked like a shooting star rocketed across the sky, but closer to them than they thought. The astral body flew across the city and landed somewhere out in the desert. Mortis blinked, his limbs all locked in place as he muttered,
"He-he looked so much like... like him..."

"I will not ask nor pry into your mind to find out, I will simply leave the matter be until you feel comfortable enough to tell us on your own, if you ever are. As of now, more pressing matters are that meteorite that crashed into the desert, if no one else has discovered it, I'll search it for whatever may be contained within, if anything." Solranous growled, then glanced to Kisara with determination.
"Do NOT follow me." The stern voice left little room for disagreement...
But stubborn Kisara placed her hands on her lips and met his eyes with the same determination as his.
"I'll follow you whenever I want, got it? I don't recall you being able to lord over me when you want to."
"Excuse me? I'm not 'lording' over you, I'm just looking out for your safety."
"Well what do you think it sounds like on my end?"
THWACK!
THWACK!
Solranous and Kisara were bothing having to rub their heads after a narrow-eyed Cynder decided that enough was enough and broke them up.
"There was no way I was letting that 'lover's spat' turn chaotic." Cynder huffed with small embers snorted out.
Solranous sighed, "I'll be on my way then." The emerald wyrm took off soon after that.
Cynder glanced at Kisara, wondering what she would do. The woman shrugged and sighed, before stepping back into the house.
"I've got some dinner ready, and you'd be surprised at what Solranous manages to get his hands on in food terms if either of you want any."

Mortis sighed, claws lightly clenching and unclenching.
So... she's had an encounter with him too then? He thought, glancing at Cynder.
He tuned in just in time to hear Kisara's invitation, and he began to turn away when a voice spoke into his mind.
Son... don't go.
Mortis abruptly stopped, eyes wide.
DAD?! He asked.
Someone's being nice to you, and you just want to be rude. I thought I raised you better than that. As much as I could raise you, that is...
Mortis grew even more sullen, but jerked up as the voice continued,
Son, please. Bahamut gave you this chance because he was hoping you'd take it. We gave you the chance to live again because you didn't get to back in the Realm of Outcasts. Please, Mortis. Let them in. They're good people. You have a long life ahead of you, but you need to start living it NOW. Making new friends is the best way. Do it for my sake, and for yours.
The voice vanished, and Mortis bit his lip.
Dad...
The wyrmling sighed, then turned around and looked at Cynder and Kisara. He then did something he hadn't done in a while: He smiled.
"I'd like that, if it's not too much trouble." He stated.

Kisara poked her head out the door again.
"I wouldn't be offering if it was to much trouble, come on, come on, I know Solranous won't mind... I just hope all dragon's have similar tastes, because if I go by what Solranous inhales, it's mostly a meat-based diet," she replied. Cynder walked in, noting that the table was being prepared, with Kisara giving a quick flame to two... they appeared to be mini-steaks, before setting them on plates and placing them on the table for the two wyrmlings, while she went to cook something for herself.
Cynder jumped up onto one of the chairs, then glanced at the steak, wondering if Kisara would be disgusted if she ate it like she would anything else.
"Um..." Cynder started, but couldn't continue.
"If its about respect manners, don't bother, if you think Solranous is a dainty eater, you've got the wrong idea, so I'm use to it."
Cynder shrugged at that, and used her claws to hold the piece of meat down while she used her fangs to rip smaller chunks from it, being surprisingly tender, and swallowing them.

Mortis watched Cynder go first, then gave the steak an almost confused look. His stomach rumbled, and his eye twitched. He opened his mouth, and then... the steak was gone. Just... gone. His cheeks were stuffed, giving him the appearance of a squirell as he moved his jaws up and down in an attempt to chew the food. A bit after, he began to swallow it, but the meat got stuck about halfway down, and Mortis started choking. His tail lashed from side to side, as his face turned slightly more blue. He abruptly stopped, then his eyes narrowed as if concentrating.
He exhaled, and a puff of what looked like snow issued from his nostrils, and he relaxed before swallowing the food, then gasped. More cold air issued out with every breath, and he eventually calmed down. He glanced at Cynder and Kisara, and flushed, embarassed.
* * * * *
Up in Arux di Itmen, a dragon that greatly resembled Mortis (aside from his scales being red instead of blue) was trying so hard not to laugh. Daralog was lying next to the other dragon, beating his head against a rock and laughing out loud.
"He eats about as badly as I do!" Daralog laughed.

Kisara was leaning against a counter laughing, while Cynder was laughing so much she didn't realize she had fallen off the chair, leaving her own meal only half eaten. Kisara was the first to regain her senses.
"Sorry Mortis... it's just that the chipmunk moment looked so cute! Makes me wish I had a camera handy." the woman chuckled, and then it was known that three people where laughing, though one managed to keep it to herself, Onyste slinked into the room, an 'I know what happened here' smirk on her maw, before she layed down and ate from the plate Kisara had prepared for her, the woman herself merely settling for a simple salad.
Cynder finally managed to compose herself and jump back onto the chair, when she looked back at Mortis, gasping for for breath.
"I'm sorry too... but it... it just looked... so funny..." She managed, before continuing with her own meal again.
"From what I saw in your mind, it was indeed hilarious." Onyste rumbled to Kisara through their link.
'Aye, it was hilarious, and it was a strange way to find out that Mortis is ice-based. Solranous will definetly want in on that kind of information.' Kisara replied back, watching the two wyrmlings with intrest.
"...Do you think she will fall for him?" Onyste asked.
'...I don't know... I hope so though, both of them deserve to have it, and hopefully Solranous will be able to protect him from Draethik. However, nothing's really impossible.' her rider answered, taking a small bite of her salad.
