((TECHNICALLY DECEASED))
Name: Lowan Nickname: Mortis Age: 13 years Alignment: Good Species: Dragon mix
Height: 3-½ feet Weight: 83 pounds Length: 5 feet Wingspan: 5-½ feet
Description: Lowan is covered in somewhat-dark blue, metallic scales, and his underside is covered in chrome, bony plating that runs down from the top of his neck. He bears two pairs of swept-back, dark-gray horns emerging from the back of his head (base of bottom almost touching top, bottom pair is half as large as top), and a row of small spines running down from the back of his neck to the end of his tail. His tail ends in a cluster of small, thick spikes. His eyes are an amber-yellow, while his wing-fibers are a dusky gray streaked with black.
Abilities: Breath Weapon- Lowan can exhale a blast of freezing mist from his maw every few minutes. The mist acts much like liquid nitrogen, and can freeze up to 5 cubic feet of material.
Magic Missile- Twice a day, Lowan can fire four blue-green bolts of pure cosmic force from his outstretched claw. All four bolts are strong enough to rip through a strong tree.
Spider Climb- Lowan has the ability to walk perfectly on any surface, whether ice-covered, horizontal, or even a ceiling. This is always in effect.
Immunities- Almost being a true dragon, Lowan is immune to most mind-effects, paralysis, cold (in general), and he can breath and effectively use his breath weapon underwater.
Something Not of This World- Lowan has been cursed with the ability to shift into his Elder Horror form (see next post); however, he has no control over the change. Cthulhu/Dogolas has control over this, but no control over the form itself. Knowing Cthulhu/Dogolas, this will be triggered at the worst times, or when Lowan requires defending.
Personality: Lowan has a depressingly cold outlook on the world, and isn’t very talkative. Strangely enough though, he hates being alone. He gets most humor, but he doesn’t laugh much. He’s usually afraid of new people, and is constantly shy in any situation. He hates to see people in pain, whether emotional or physical, and will always try to help someone in need of it. He’ll get EXTREMELY angry if his father is mentioned in what he would consider any bad way.
History: Lowan was originally from the plane Shive originated from as well, and in fact knew the dragonkin well. Shive would visit Lowan and his family whenever he had the chance, having helped them out a few years before he came to Nightshade. After Lowan’s father had become possessed by the Dark Echelon, the rampaging dragon had unwillingly killed his entire family, including Lowan himself. Bagan was eventually slain shortly after, and was sent to Heaven with his son and wife. Recently, after Shive had died and Bahamut made a deal with Shive to get him to return to Earth, the King of Dragons decided to send Lowan back with him, in the hopes Lowan would be able to live the full life he didn’t get the chance to back in the Realm of Outcasts. Reluctantly, Lowan agreed with a little ‘encouragement’ from his father.

((TECHNICALLY DECEASED))
Name: l'gra Lowan Nickname: Mortis, Elder Horror Age: 13 years Alignment: Evil Species: Dragon mix (corrupted)
Height: 19 feet Weight: 1126 pounds Length: 32 feet Wingspan: 44 feet
Description: Lowan now appears as he would roughly 50 years from now, an adult dragon of powerful, yet semi-lithe, build. However, unfortunately, it’s not that simple; his scales have darkened significantly in coloration, but not to the point where they would appear black. The segmented bones in his wings have thickened to the point where they’re on the outside of the wing-skins, and are rather jagged in appearance. His horns have all branched out in a parallel fashion, roughly four extra points on each of the larger horns, and two on the smaller. His eyes are a deep blood-red, darkening to purple around the edges, and his pupil is now nothing but a sliver of black. The flesh and scales from the back of his jaws, almost to the front of his cheeks has been removed, allowing for a partial view of his teeth 24/7, of which roughly half of them now poke out from between his closed lips. His spines have all lengthened greatly and turned a darker shade of gray, and his horns are a dark purple-gray in appearance, along with his underbelly plates. Small tendrils line his jaw-line, ending in a cluster on his chin, along the back of his forelegs/hind legs, and along his spine. A thick, fleshy ‘spike’ juts out of either foreleg’s shoulder, and there are a multitude of glowing red eyes, much like his own, located on the underside of his wings.
Abilities: Breath Weapon- Much like his old form, Lowan can exhale a blast of freezing mist from his maw. The mist can freeze (or alternatively, encase something) up to 1 foot per every 2 seconds of usage. The weapon has an interesting new trait, however; anything living exposed to the ice will have their energy sapped at a staggering rate (mid-level charries severely weakened after roughly 2 minutes), and the energy taken cannot be regained. Sustainable for up to 10 seconds, can be used every 3 minutes.
Eldritch Hail- Charging his body with purple-green energy, Lowan can release it as a rain of arcane energy bolts. These bolts can cover any type of radius, as long as it adds up to a rough 250-foot area. Each bolt is strong enough to shatter 6 inches of solid rock with little effort. Usable once every 10 minutes.
Shoulder Tendrils- At will, Lowan can extend a pair of 20-foot long tendrils from his shoulders. These tendrils can lift/exert up to 3 tons of weight, and constantly produce a biodegradable slime that rots away organic matter at an extremely fast rate. Said slime can rot through tough flesh roughly 6 inches thick in less than a minute.
Mind Fog- At will, Lowan’s body can exude a thick, hazy fog that will obscure sight up to 50% (day) and up to 75% (night), covering up to a 400-foot, cubic area. This fog also has a hallucinogenic effect on those exposed to it; seeing disturbing things that aren’t there, not seeing things that are there, etc. (up to player’s discretion). Finally, anyone/thing exposed to the fog will have their mental capacity reduced the longer they remain in the cloud (movement/reflexes and thought processing reduced by 10% per minute). The effect wears off as soon as they exit the fog, or the fog is dispersed. A strong wind (roughly 50 mph+) can move the fog, and anything higher than 60 mph can disperse the fog into nothingness. Lowan can deactivate this at will, and is immune to all of the fog’s effects.
Eyes of the Beholder- Every single eye on Lowan’s wings are fully functional, and as such, Mortis can look in dozens of different directions at once. However, these eyes’ true ability is the power to freeze any sentient entity upon locking its gaze with theirs. As many opponents can be targeted by this effect as there are eyes on Lowan’s wings (40 total), and the hold cannot be broken unless the gaze is broken. As long as a creature is held by the gaze, Lowan can telepathically pry into their mind (depending on the amount of mental shielding they have).
Ignotus Formidilosus- Lowan’s most potent ability, the wyrm will begin to darken even further in coloration, eventually reaching a black so pitch in shade he would seem to be a piece of starless space. Dozens of more eyes will appear on his frame, and all of his tendrils will lengthen, along with clusters of new tendrils breaking free of his form in random places. While he may be completely stationary in this form, he can force his way into any of those within a 30-foot radius, and will drive a target… well, insane would be a horrendous understatement. The process it takes for Lowan to drive the terrible information that causes the eventual breakdown of the victim’s mind takes roughly 30 seconds (for low and mid-range charries), or up to a minute maximum (strong to advanced charries). As soon as the attack is finished, he’ll revert back to his Elder form. Usable once per transformation; once the ability has started, it can’t stop until finished (unless Lowan is forcefully driven out of his Elder form).
Regeneration- Lowan has a surprisingly fast-working regeneration, able to heal severed limbs and deep gouges in a mere 20 seconds or so, even the loss of severed head can be overlooked in a minute or so.
In this form, anyone trying to pry into his mind will be temporarily paralyzed as he, in turn, pries into theirs (depending on mental strength, but he could, with a bit of effort, hack into a powerful mind).
Personality: Contrary to belief, Cthulhu does not have control of Lowan in this form, seeing as how he’s tempered it to be resistant to all telepathy; however, Cthulhu did make damned-sure to break Lowan’s sanity and will. In this form, Lowan is almost the opposite of his normal self. Cruel, psychotic (in every sense of the word), he loves trying to get into people’s heads, biting at their psyche with bitter, stinging words. He’s extremely negative and pessimistic, even towards himself; but he doesn’t seem to mind, seeing as how he’s always grinning.
History: After about half a year of leaving Lowan to himself, Cthulhu went back on his word, and deemed Lowan ‘of use again’. While the god of Madness had no particular use for the wyrmling, he did say it was ‘to remind the mortals of why they should always be afraid… to let them know what really lurks in the darkest depths of time and space.’. Nowadays, Cthulhu will trigger the transformation at the worst times, much to Lowan’s dismay and growing despair.

"Seven! Seven bats! AH! AH! AH!" - The Count
Name: Nickname: Mortis Age: 13 years Alignment: Good Species: Hemata (draconic vampire)
Height: 3-½ feet Weight: 79 pounds Length: 5 feet Wingspan: 5-½ feet
Description: The supernaturally-charismatic wyrmling is covered in somewhat-dark blue, metallic scales, and his underside is covered in chrome, bony plating that runs down from the top of his neck. His upper canine teeth are larger than they should be, and constantly poke out from between his closed lips. His face seems slightly emaciated, but not terribly so, and he’s bit on the skinny side.
Abilities: Breath Weapon- Lowan can exhale a blast of freezing mist from his maw every few minutes. The mist acts much like liquid nitrogen, and can freeze up to a maximum of 5 cubic feet of material.
Blood Drain- Lowan has the ability to drain the blood from any living creature to fuel his own undead processes. He can drain and store a maximum of 4 gallons of blood (appearing rather bloated if he does). He can drain it from any willing or unwilling creature, but must do so with his jaws (major arteries, specifically those in the neck, are the best locations), so long as the blood is ingested, and within two minutes of being ‘fresh’ (may not have to be in creature at all). The more blood Lowan has stored, the stronger and faster he may be (3 gallons will increase his abilities to their max 200%), and the less blood he has, the weaker he becomes. With this ability, however, Lowan may also turn others into vampires as he is. All he requires to do so is to drain roughly 6 pints of blood from a willing victim, and the change will occur over three days or so, in which the victim will be in a coma-like state, and must not be exposed to any amount of sunlight.
Magic Missile- Twice a day, Lowan can fire four blue-green bolts of pure cosmic force from his outstretched claw at a time. All four bolts are strong enough to rip through a strong tree.
Spider Climb- Lowan has the ability to walk perfectly on any surface, whether ice-covered, horizontal, or even a ceiling. This is always in effect.
Regeneration- Lowan has a staggering regenerative ability, with which he can reform from even tiny chunks of meat or even misted blood. Minor wounds are recovered in mere seconds, medium wounds will take a minute or two, and what would be life-threatening wounds (or the first examples) usually take several minutes, up to half an hour. He can ‘burn’ stored blood to speed up this process, although reforming from tiny matter will usually drain him of all blood.
Suggestive Gaze- By locking eyes with a sentient living creature, Lowan can force them to perform one suggested action with a limited type of mind control. The action cannot involve self-injury or death, but other than that, the order is absolute, and will remain in effect until completed. Once the action suggested has been performed, the victim will have full control once more, yet no memory of the time from when the order was given and when it was finished. Can use this ability at will, maximum number of controlled entities at a time is 5. Resistance to this ability is possible, its effectiveness varying the amount of telepathic protection a victim has.
Blood Barding- Lowan can expend stored blood to create a rough, dark-red ‘armor’ or melee ‘weaponry’ on sections of his body, controlling its shape, thickness, etc. The armor’s traits depends on how much blood is spent to form it, but the usual amount is roughly a gallon for material about as durable as strong iron, covering a good 50% of his body; this spending rate applies to weapon sharpness as well. He has a limited control of the armor/weapons while they’re formed, sometimes going so far as to construct extra ‘limbs’, and can even output more blood to reinforce them if needed. The blood used cannot be regained, but any armor/weapons formed are dismissible at will.
Immortality- Being one of the bloodsuckers of legend, Lowan is immortal… to an extent. True, he cannot die by most means, and because of his regeneration, would seem unstoppable, but he is far from so. For one, he must consume roughly 6 quarts of blood every week or so, or he will go into a state of starved lunacy before eventually crumbling to ash on the 14th day he has not fed. Also, blessed weapons/holy spells, etc. actually deal lasting damage to him, and cannot be regenerated as easily. Finally, a wooden stake driven through his heart or about a minute’s exposure to sunlight will outright kill him.
Hemata Traits- Almost being a true dragon, Lowan is immune to most mind-effects, paralysis, cold (in general), and can effectively use his breath weapon underwater. Being an undead gives him further perks, as he is now immune to poisons/disease, bears no need for air, he cannot feel pain, he’s incapable of having his energy drained, he can see perfectly in any conditions, his ’vital organs’ are not so vital anymore, he bears a slight resistance to spells, and he has a powerful resistance to telepathy. However, will all of these perks come many downsides as well, of which are: He cannot be exposed to sunlight (other bright lights can disorient, but not harm); any form of blessed object or consecrated area can cause painful, lasting damage to him; and garlic seems to have a poisonous effect on him.
Personality: Since becoming immortal, Lowan has become much more laid back, to the point where he’s become lazy. Very much so. He’s lethargic, and has a notably calmer demeanor/temper, but he does have a sense of humor, and may even input his opinion into conversations; though whether or not it was asked for is debatable, for he’s become a little arrogant as well. He’s much more outgoing, but again, lethargy gets in the way of that at times. He can get terribly irritable when he hasn’t fed in a while, and may even attack the next thing with blood to satisfy his hunger, despite being very picky about his targets when he‘s not in a state of bloodlust. He’s now extremely interested in and polite to all forms of women…
History: After coming extremely close to death at the hands of Khimera Gigantic, Lowan has been reborn as one of the blood-sucking offspring of the night, thanks to the residential Nosferatu known as Nikolas, a powerful vampire and ex-servant on the Patriarch. Because of Khimera’s absorption method, Lowan is now no longer bound to the cruel ways of his old tormentor, Dogolas/Cthulhu, and is now free to live out the rest of eternity as he wishes.
