Vithzerai had been loitering around waiting for the call to be made for his annihilation of the human race to make way for a new race to rise and take its right to life. He moved around the inner workings of the caves slowly moving deeper and deeper until he found a sufficiently secluded area to begin his dark workings. He opened his dark portal and out fell the body of Shiryu.
"I'm rather glad I killed you first boy. I actually have a use for your wasted life," he said tormenting the lifeless corpse.
He smashed the body into the wall making a perfect body shaped crater. He ran chains of dark energy across the body in a very specific manner binding it in place.
"Now to take back my most powerful servant," he growled.
He delicately took one of his armored claws and began drawing an intricate design across the floor. He payed no mind to time as detail was his top concern. Slowly the form became apparent as he was lost in his work.
"Soon you shall return to your service in my name."

A figure soon appeared in the entrance of the cave Vithzerai and his servant's corpse inhabited, yet the sound of footsteps did not follow its arrival. A pair of red pinpricks watched the ceremony from the shadows without a word, yet the emaciated figure pondered to itself,
Hmm... a simple revival, it seems. Feh. However... the caster itself seems powerful in his own right- that corpse must be worth something for him to ressurect it. Interesting...
The beak-like face twisted into a slight smirk as its winged arms folded over its chest, and it leaned against the wall as it continued to watch noiselessly.

Vithzerai continued his work with the arcane symbol he was tracing upon the ground. It was circular in nature and began as a small etching. As he completed each layer of the symbol they would glow slightly and the other layers previously completed would begin to glow slightly brighter. He stopped after drawing 5 layers of the arcane symbol and worked on something else that needed attention before he could continue.
"Now for the medium with which to send the spirit into," he mused.
He waved his right hand through the air causing several small depictions made of energy hang in mid air. Each one was unique from the last. He began to scrutinize each emblem as he traced them with his sight.
Finally he had chosen and grabbed one of the emblems from the air causing the rest to dissipate. He forced the fist clenched around the emblem into the ground and held it there for a moment. His dark energy began to concentrate and soon a small portal had opened. Slowly he began to pull a skeletal structure out of the portal. As it emerged it became apparent that the structure was dragonic in nature and build. The body was roughly 20 feet long with a tail that was roughly 8 feet in length. The way the body lie it appeared to be a semi-bipedal being. The arms would hang to just above the ground when standing erect as possible. Though it was dragonic in nature the shape of the body and bones gave a demonic feeling on sight. He pulled it into the center of his arcane etchings positioning it so that the head was facing that of Shiryu's body.
"Now I just need to complete the symbol and begin the chant," he said.
He went back to the symbol and began his work on the three most important pieces of the symbol. The three final rings were the most intricate of the eight. Each ring causing a power surge as it was completed.

The watching demon's eyes widened slightly as each of the three final rings were being completed.
Not just a reviv al, but a transfer... now I'm truely interested. But why does he need the spirit to animate the new frame? ... he must be new at this, or that spirit's more valuable than I realized. I'm betting on both... hmph. That skeleton perturbs me, though... it seems demonic, but I can't be sure at the moment... the only demon I know of that comes close to resembling it would be a cornugon, and I doubt that's what it is. Must be a homemade construct... time will tell, I suppose.
The red pinpricks narrowed as he added,
... not like I have anything else to do at the moment. Perhaps either of these know where the Crests are as well... oh, that would be a great streak of luck.
The creature continued to remain motionless as he watched further, fully focused on the circle of runes below Shiryu's dead body.

Vithzerai had completed all his etchings and stood back looking on as the energy flowed quasi-freely from their intricacies. He moved to the rear end of the beasts body and drew another circle around himself that looked quite similar to the eighth ring around the skeleton.
"Shadou Doragon, you shall rise once again. Your service has not ended as of yet. I shall make you whole again so that service may be continued. Before me lies thine body. Full of the raw power and wrath you once commanded. Before thine body lies thy spirit. Containing the very pact and energy that drove you to extreme lengths. I am the one who shall release thy spirit to return to the body it rightfully belongs to. I am the key that shall remove the bindings that this foul and pathetic creature imposes on you. Dore bai waga youmei, hon'in kaihou temae. Kin touhou tameni sono ikoi jikoku's kaketsu.(Now by my command, I release you. Serve me for the rest of time's passage.)"
With that the glow of the ring around him flashed causing the eighth ring around the body to flash as well. The outer ring sent 'waves' of the pulsating energy into the center. The energy focusing in the middle began to crawl across the bones lying within the incription's fold. As the energy began to reach the head a feint crack could be heard issued from the bones, as if they were waking up and about to stretch. The eyes lit up with dark red color but didn't glow with ferocity just yet. It layed there absorbing the energy as it fluxed into the center.
"At last the purge of this planet can be put into motion," he mused to himself. He dared not move lest it ruin the ritual and cause the bones to crumble at the rapid loss of the energy being funneled into them. He watched with stone cold eyes as his servant was being brought back before his eyes, by his own hands.

Purge? He honestly expects this thing to clean the planet of the filth that infests it? Ha! Good luck... but hey, more souls sent to Hell means more demons for me to rally under my black banner! Phalax mused, smirking.
He glanced back at the coprse, and his smirk fell slightly.
Though, this thing seems... familiar, for some reason. Didn't the archdemon Armageddon build something similar ages ago...? Bah, probably coincidence. It was a poor experiment anyway. But thinking on it, this one is definately different...
Knowing he'd be ignored, Phalanx shifted back fully into the shadows and down the cave's 'hall' several dozen feet, then produced a shimmering, almost crystalline sphere in the palm of his hand, roughly the size of a basketball. He peered into it, and the face of some reptillian creature not unsimilar to Phalanx, despite a knife-like horn made of a semi-transparent blue jutting from its forehead, and a distinctly bullet-shaped head.
"Bayer! How goes the hunt?"
"Not well, sir... we've still no sign of Arma's servant or the Crests... Berial has yet to report back, either. I fear he was slain as well."
The archdemon scowled at his subordinate, who hastily added,
"But! We have reason to believe that two of the Hunter's mortal accomplices know the whereabouts of the Crests... we're currently looking into it."
Phalanx's face lightened somewhat, and his eyes slowly reverted to their flat, dark-blue forms.
"Hmm... excellent. I hope to hear better news from you next time, then..."
"You shall, m'lord."
With that, Phalanx 'crushed' the sphere, making it evaporate back into wisps of pulsing white energy that too, dissipated. Phalanx stared at the fist, scowling deeper before muttering,
"Might as well not miss the show..."
With that, he slowly re-appeared in the cavernous chamber's entrance once more, silence surounding him as he watched.

The energy transfusion fluxed one last time as it completed the transfer into the body. It rumbled a little and creaked to life upon the archaic circles on the ground. The circles then glowed with a dark red color as opposed to the purple color from earlier. The mass of bones stood up to its full height towering a good 12 feet in the air not counting the leatherless wings. The eyes held a light of red fury in them as it it looked on at Shiryu's body.
The large maw of the body opened up letting out a low bass filled hiss. A small void appeared within the confines of the jaw and began to pull at Shiryu's body. All matter of energy flowed out of the corpse and into the void. After about a minute passed a deafened roar was heard as a spirit was removed from the body and sucked in as well. Then finally the void took it's sacrifice of flesh as Shiryu's body was broken down and drawn in by the entity's void. It closed its maw in a satisfied manner and pulled its neck back within the confines of the archaic etchings upon the ground.
"Now the final part is the merger of these pieces into the once powerful being that had roamed the planet in my service," Vithzerai said.
Each layer of the symbol began to fade into darkness. One at a time a shadow like substance consumed them. Once the eighth ring was consumed the body sank into the vortex below it. The being gave no fight as it was pulled beneath the shadows where none could see it. As the head was pulled under a shallow rumble issued as it vanished completely from view.

"Well, that was at least intresting to watch..." Phalanx mused aloud, his raspy voice echoing throughout the chamber.
The demon casually strolled past the undead master and crouched in the center of the room where the ritual had taken place. His eyes shifted back to their hollow appearance, the red pinpricks of light surveying the floor as he brushed a hand along its surface, muttering,
"Obvious, powerful tones of necromancy... I'd say they made up the bulk of the spell. But there's also a little Conjuration and Transmutation thrown in... not bad. You at least know what you're doing. So tell me, what was that all about? 'Purging the Earth', 'most powerful servant'? I myself never liked this realm, but... I highly doubt one individual can do it alone."
Unless they have a certain collection of Crests... He kept to himself.
He rose to his full, gaunt height and turned fully toward Vithzerai, making a sweeping motion with his arm.
"Excuse my rudeness, I forgot to... introduce myself. I am Phalanx, Arch-Demon and once-ruler of over four layers of Hell. And who might you be, my undead accomplice?" He asked with a sincere tone underlined with icy awareness.

"I am called Vithzerai. I am the one who resides over all of Yomi No Kuni. one of the many lands of death as you no doubt know. As for purging the earth, I was partially charged with directing the life flow upon the planet. No new life can be created nor can it be entirely destroyed. Once a soul passes through my domain it is a blank slate and sent back into the pool that is set for the world of the living. The human race has been judged unworthy of the life essence flowing throughout their world and shall be eradicated to make way for a more worthy being. Albeit war is a given no matter what arises, but needless conflict with this filthy scum shall be halted," he said in a slightly disgusted tone. His eyes carried a slight scowl at his visitor though he bore no thoughts of conflict since there seemed to be only a curiosity floating around at present time.
"The being you saw chained to the wall was essentially a holding cell for the spirit and energy of the being I used to cleanse the planet long ago. It has a link straight to my domain, allowing the souls it collects to be purified faster and sent back into the mix. Once its merger with body and spirit is completed it's capable of acting as a vacuum for souls extracting them directly from the body," he informed. "So all this really is is a release and restoration. The body was stripped of flesh and spirit and was reformed into the humanoid prison you saw. Now that it all has returned to the form you saw moments ago the purge can begin. No human is safe, and even the super natural being upon this plane are at risk. Who knows maybe demons and undead like ourselves will come to take over the new world order and all its beings."
With that the runes upon the floor began to darken again. First it began with the inner ring of the first layer. It then flowed into the emblems within the emblem tracing its way around the cirle in a clockwise manner. Once it finished the ring between the first and second layer darkened. Thus the process continued though more slowly with the second layer.
"Ahh good, it seems the merger is finally taking place. A grand day it is for the death of humanity," he said his eyes giving the impression of a slight smirk on his face.
As he finished speaking the second ring of runes had filled in. It was progressing slowly but at the perfect pace so as to ensure no mistake was made during the fusion.

"Funny you say that..." Phalanx muttered, referring to Vithzerai's statement on demons and undead.
His eyes glowed once more as he watched the second ring of runes fill in its own glow, and he issued a quiet, rasping chuckle of a laugh. At first. The laugh then slowly rose into a fit of maniacal, hair-raising laughter as he thought over what would happen the moment he received the Demon's Crests. The skies of Earth would darken, and the rivers would run red with mortal blood. And there he would tower over them all, once more returned to his Ultimate form... the colossus that had once ruled over four layers of Hell, and almost acquired the human realm as well... and best of all, Firebrand, that accursed Arremer, wouldn't be here this time to stop him...
"Seems we both have our goals, Vithzerai. I too, seek to clean this realm of its mortal filth... granted, I'll be hoping to use it myself... but only for a few thousand years or so." He muttered, the second half much quieter than the first.
He lightly shook his head of its clouding vision, and glanced back at the situation at hand.
"So... you seem rather confident in your servan'ts abilities. Is it really that powerful?" he asked aloud, staring at the remaining circle.

Vithzerai's eyes merely narrowed at Phalanx and his fit of maniacal laughter. He crossed his arms as he waited for his servant, Judgment, to arise from his prolonged slumber. He stared as the fourth ring had now begun to fill in.
"Well Judgment is no mere 'servant' as I have been calling him. He's easily one of the most powerful tools meant to annihilate anything desired upon the face of the earth. I used him long ago to cause another mass populace extinction. He succeeded," he said in a cool confident voice. "This time he shall succeed again. I will personally wipe out any who stand in the way of this change. Once he has arisen the material plane as we know will be changed forever."
The fifth ring had halfway completed itself by now. The etchings seemed to grow restless with anticipation of the new arrival contained within their arcane might. Soon 'pressure' could be felt being emitted from the arcane circles in an expression of the being held within. Small rocks sitting within the cavern were crushed to a powdered form outright. Vithzerai's eyes merely remained in a narrowed state giving an impatient look about him. As he looked on the sixth ring had begun to fill out.

Phalanx too stood unswayed by the sheer amount of power currently ravaging the cave, and simply replied with a bored look of surprise,
"Impressive. Well, by no means shall I interfere with your plans, then! ... so long as yours don't interfere with mine, of course."
He scratched his beak-like chin, pondering for a moment before adding,
"Hell, your plans will indirectly assist mine... there's a few mortals up there who've sided with my main antagonist at the moment... removing them from the pciture would be most helpful."
He scowled, thinking back to the few he'd encountered so far. The two armored half-dragons, the 'guinea pig' Daedalus, and if his sources were correct, even The Tear... he'd definately cause problems.
"Charon alone proves to be a sufficient thorn in my side..." He mumbled.
Phalanx shook his elongated head, then joined Vithzerai in watching the sixth circle fill out, his anticipation having reached past just interest.

"Perhaps our goals will lead us to indirectly assist each other. All I know is I have a job to do and I'm here to finally carry it out after being long overdue for this race," he said with a slightly malicious look on his face.
The eighth Ring had just about completed itself and the rest of the rings were now glowing pretty ferociously. Once completed the eight rings left the ground and hovered in the air. The first ring floated closest to the ground with the rest being up higher in order of size. The first ring began to spin in one direction, the second folowed suit but went in the opposite direction as did every ring after that spinning in the opposite direction of the last. Soon Energy could be seen arcing between the rings and focusing on the center position on the ground below.
A portal began to open up to the abyssal realm the body had been taken to earlier. Large demonic wings began to slowly rise out of the ground. The wing span was the same as that of the earlier skeleton but only they had changed in shape and now had flesh upon them. Sonn the head began to appear. The horns upon the head were quite thick and had a coarse texture. They rose from the side of the head a little behind the eyes and at the top of the skull. They jutted out to their respective side first and then shot backwards giving the large impression of demonic intentions. The skull was still dragonic in nature and had the long mouth expected along with the horizontal eyes elongated eyes of a dragon. The rest of the body soon followed revealing the highly built body of the beast and it's stature. It towered over Vithzerai and had large spines running down its back. It stood slightly hunched and devoid of any feeling except the intent slaughter for the betterment of the world.
As it stood there the rings spun even faster at this point. The arcs of energy began to increase as they spun. Shortly thereafter the arcs began to cross over the beast's body creating glowing lines of power upon the scales. As the arcs went the rings began to disappear one by one. Once the eighth ring finished the beast sort of sagged in place waiting it seemed.

Phalanx blinked at the arrival of 'Judgment', or what he assumed the beast to be. He scowled, recognizing the current shape as one that many sorrcerors used for living weapons... he prayed Vithzerai was more original than that.
"Hmph... substance over appearance." He muttered under his breath.
Phalanx took several steps toward the figure, inspecting it from top to bottom as he inquired,
"Erm... I don't doubt this creature's power, but... what exactly does it do, other than 'wipe out all humankind'...?"
He glanced back at Vithzerai, solid, dark-blue eyes watching him in curiousity.

"Yes it's a basic shape. Easy for the task it was meant for. However, what was put into it was the extraordinary part of it", Vithzerai said. "The spirit released and the energy siphoned into it was pure soul energy. The more energy it collects the more power it gains. It will also change shape as it grows. It could potentially change shape and attribute as well depending upon the souls it consumes."
Vithzerai stared at his resurrected servant. The large mighty beast turned around and faced them. It's eyes were still closed however. When it was facing Vith and Phalanx it's eyes opened slowly and a pure evil stare looked back at them. It rumbled with it's massive lung capacity as it breathed.
"This creature was meant to create an extinction event, it IS the extinction event", Vith said cooly.
It was then that the lines created by the etching reacted. They surged with the power they had received from Vithzerai and the souls used within them. The beast's eyes widened as the energy surged into its body. The horns grew spiked and the spines hardened into an obsidian like substance. The body shot up and grew to 17ft tall not counting the tail which was now a good 11ft in length. The wingspan had increased dramatically and became slightly armored and bore a razor sharp edge. It turned to the chains that were still bound to the wall and swung a claw at them. The claw was instantly covered in a jet black flame and rended the chains from the wall and caused them to disintergrate. It opened its mouth and consumed the small soul energy used to create them. It issued a single roar that echoed with the souls of the damned as it stood there.
