Solranous shook his head, "It's alright Garrett, I'm not blaming you... It's probably been happening since I first triggered my Chaos form..."
He then turned to the direction Garrett and Asuka were facing, regenerating the damage from Berial's last attack and drawing his sword, igniting it.
Asuka abruptly whipped out the gun pod again, activating it and glaring.
"I swear, if that's a damn Angel I'm gonna be so pissed off!" she howled, weapon aimed at the approaching entity.
Solranous blinked at that, turning to Asuka, "Angel? You may have fought this thing before?"
The Eva didn't bother turning back, "Maybe... annoying as hell to fight some of them..."
"Lets hope experience comes into play then..."

Garrett's eyes grew thicker with malice as the orange glow started to descend from the clouds, revealing itself to the world... it appeared to be an incredibly gangly humanoid roughly 12 feet in height, with its shoulders, thighs, and half-sections of the chest covered in a gray, bone-like substance. Each long arm ended in three claw-like digits, and its neckless head resembled some sort of simple, circle-shaped mask that tapered into a point at the bottom. A single red hemisphere protruded from its chest as it hovered over the area, and descended to the ground a few dozen blocks past the group currently gathered, barely stirring the dirt around it as it did so. It issued some sort of faint trill, then slowly lumbered toward the center of the city, ignoring everything around it as it went.
Meanwhile, Garrett's pupils had gone non-existant as he began tp pant uncontrollably, gasping for breath and visibly sweating.
Wh... what is this... nauseous feeling...?! What... what IS that?! He thought.
He slowly tilted his head at Asuka, and asked,
"An Angel, you say...? As in like, the biblical kind or something?"

Asuka blinked at the question, glancing at Garrett.
"At first, we didn't know, but if you're a real demon and your reacting like that, its a safe bet to say yes..." she replied, before turning back to the Angel, "And that's definitely one of them... Third, I think... They usually arrive one at a time... If its eyes flash, get the hell out of the way, because its going to fire one of its two Cross Blast varieties, and it has an energy spear in each arm." She warned, so they were prepared as much as they needed to be.
"And you know this... because you fought it before?" Solranous asked.
"No, but I watched the combat footage... Whatever you do, if I go down, you lose the advantage, I'm the only one present who can null its defensive field... if that's still up, you'll never get close enough, power be damned."
Solranous considered this information, still looking at the marching Angel. "Something tells me you're not normally this helpful..."
"... Life changing events can really shake someone up..." was all she responded with, before charging at the Angel, spreading her A.T. Field.
'Why!? Didn't we kill you all before!? WHY ARE YOU BACK!?' the Eva screamed mentally to herself as she whipped the gun pod around and opened fire on the Angel.
"Better not let her go it alone..." Solranous mused as he flash stepped in front of the angel, sword at the ready while Asuka bombarded it from the side.

The 'Angel' abruptly stopped as the bullets fired by Asuka impacted uselessly against a sudden heaxgonal barrier of orange, rippling energy, then turned around at her as the field remained up. It abruptly grabbed Sol by the head as it turned, arms rapidly bulking in thickness, then promptly hurled the dragon at her, knocking both over with a surprising amount of force. It tilted its head in a quizzical fashion, 'blinking', then turned back around and swayed off toward the city once more...
[shadow=orange,up,300][glow=red,2,300]"GUUUUUURAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!"[/glow][/shadow]
The Angel paused once more as Charon rushed toward it, his wings bleeding even more than usual from their constant, unseen wounds, Requiem pulsating with his rage. However... he didn't get within a dozen feet before the Angel's eyes flashed, and a large, cross-shaped explosion of energy enveloped the demon and blinded those nearby. The blast dissipated, and the crater stretched from one side of the street to the other... and the Angel was already a few dozen more blocks away, almost to the main city itself. Charon lay smoldering in the crater, the front of his body blackened over, his faceplate blown off, and a puddle of dark ichor forming a pool beneath him.

Solranous shook minor stars from his head at the explosion, turning to see what caused it.
"...! Garrett!" Solranous called out, flash stepping over to the demon and laying a hand on his chest, pouring all he could into healing his comrade.
"W-We can't just let him get away like that!" Asuka hollared, pulling herself back to her feet shakily.
"We aren't prepared to deal with that kind of power yet..." Solranous shot back, not losing concentration. "We need time to regroup and make a battle plan..."
Asuka was about to protest again, but cut herself short, merely seething silently as she turned to look at the Angel.

As the Angel soon dissapeared on the horizon, Garrett's eyes slowly flickered back open, and he coughed up a good mouthful of blood as he struggled to sit up.
"Oh... MY GOD... the hell... was that... all about?!" He wheezed, clutching at his regenerating chest.
Meanwhile, Thaea had barely managed to regain her composure before she noticed the scenario, and gave a surprised sigh. She staggered over to the heavily injured demon and crouched down at the crater's edge, instantly regreting her temporary mental breakdown upon seeing his condition.
"Oh no... ..." She breathed.
Garrett winced again, chest convulsing in pained gasps as he strained his eyes open again, then looked at the fretful Thaea.
"So... should I... be killed right away...? Because if that's... so, here's your chance..."
Thaea bit her lip and scowled through watery eyes as she looked away and gasped,
"I-I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... I didn't think... that you... could... that you'd come back like... that..."
Garrett gave a pained sigh, then looked away as well.
"Yeah, well... neither did I, but here I am..."
He paused, then gave a slight smirk.
"And... it's fine... I can understand... your shock at this."
Thaea sniffled slightly, then rubbed at her eyes.
"Th-thanks... I just wish I didn't have that damn freakout... now... look at you! What the hell happened?! You're borderline-dead again!" She cried.

"Stay still Garrett, it'll help me heal you faster, we need every bit of time we can get." Solranous ordered, easing the demon back down again. He then turned over to Asuka, who's hand was clenched and shaking violently.
"Hey!" he called, but the Eva didn't respond.
Solranous scowled, turning to Thaea, "You think you can bring her over, she might know some more about our foe, every little bit of information can help... I'd go get her attention myself, but..."
he nodded down to Garrett, even as he healed him, a quarter of the damage that the Angel had dealt healed.
Asuka, meanwhile, was lost in her own little world, angered. If one Angel was back, all of them were back, and she had already suffered humiliating defeats at the hands of some of them already. Not to mention... she might have to work together with her old comrade in arms.
The thought that the former pilot of Unit 01 could now show her up yet again, despite him likely being the spineless whimp she remembered, agrivated her to no end.

Garrent grunted in response, then allowed himself to collapse backwards onto the ground again, groaning,
"Argh... just get it over with... I hope to never see that thing again..."
Meanwhile, Thaea nodded at Solranous, then stood up and paced over to Asuka, hesitantly putting a clawed hand on her shoulder.
"... past coming back to haunt you?" She asked.
She sighed, then shook her head and muttered,
"Look... it... it'll be different this time... I swear on my life, it'll be different this time..."

Asuka growled lightly, before nodding, "Badly... if one's back, chances are all of them are back... including the one that raped my mind..."
She shuddered at the memory of the 15th, "That monster threw every weakness I had at me and I... I just broke down..."
Asuka then threw her head back and howled to the heavens above, anger filling her entire body.
Solranous redoubled his efforts as Thaea spoke with Asuka, speeding up Garrett's healing. "I'm afraid you might see it, and maybe others, again... no real avoiding that unless you have advanced knowledge of them."
The dragon ceased talking, focusing everything he had, magnifying the healing speed even more, Garrett was now 75% healed. "Almost done..." was the last thing Solranous muttered.

Thaea's shoulders sagged, then she proceeded to lock Asuka in a tight hug, sighing sadly,
"You obviously didn't hear me... it WILL be different this time... I swore that, damnit..."
She released Asuka and shook her by the shoulders, despite having to look up at the crimson Evangelion.
"You've got a lot more friends this time around who are willing and able to help... it'll be different."
Meanwhile, Garrett sighed, nodding in response to Sol's rebuttal.
"Yeah, yeah... speaking of which, I may be able to ask Boss for some info on these things... I hear he's been around a while, so he may have some advice... or actual help, which would be better... ah well. Next time I see it, I'm tearing it limb from goddamnED LIMB..." He growled.
He sighed, then glanced over his shoulder, at the place that'd been his home before his demonic conversion.
"... wonder how the ol' pad is doing..." He muttered.

"Thank you..." Asuka replied after a few seconds. "I think I'm gonna need all the friends I can get..." She turned slightly to Thaea. It might've been some trick of the light, but for a moment, Asuka's true appearence shimmered over the body of her Eva.
"It might not be as bad here as I first thought it would be..." She finished, turning around and hugging Thaea back.
Solranous, meanwhile, smirked to himself, before pulling his hands back and standing up, reaching a hand out to Garrett, "That should do it, my ol' friend," he quipped.

"We'll make sure you're as happy here as you can manage to be..." Thaea replied, smiling above Asuka's arms.
She paused, then glanced at Garrett as he took Solranous's hand and pulled himself to his feet, grunting,
"Ahh, thanks!"
She allowed Asuka to release her, then looked back at the house she'd taken up refuge in, and suddenly realised her conundrum.
"Uhh... Garrett?" She asked, back turned.
He looked up at her, shifting into his human form is a shimmer of green flame.
"Yes?"
"... I may or may not have taken up residence at your place while you were gone... um... I'm sorry... if you'll give me some time to get my stuff out, I can-"
"Why would you wanna do that? You assume I'd be angry or something?" he stopped her in mid-sentence.
"...huh?"
"I'm glad you put my place to use... not like I was using it. But if you don't have anywhere else to go, well, you can stay here if you want. Hell, I could use the company..."
Thaea blinked, then grinned and scratched her cheek.
"Oh! Well, uh... heh, okay... if you insist. However, I... also invited Asuka here to stay with me as well... is it okay if she stays here too?" She inquired in response.
Garrett looked at the towering Evangelion, then shrugged, replying,
"Eh, the more the merrier, I suppose. As long as she's fine with it...?"

Asuka considered the situation for a few seconds, and shrugged, "Why not? It'll be like rooming with Misato again... except the guy around isn't a spineless wimp... And its not like I have anywhere else to go."
Solranous turned to Thaea and Asuka at that response, adding, "You're always welcome at my place if you ever want to come over."
The Eva sighed to herself, "... You guys are a lot nicer then most the others back home..."
Solranous shrugged, "What can I say, it comes naturally..."
The dragon's expression then hardened. "However, we need to chase down that Angel before it starts wrecking havoc like I think it will."
Asuka scowled noticeably, tensing up, "Yeah, I'm all for killing that thing and sending it back where it belongs..."

From high above, Burning Gundam spots Solranous and the others below, all who were recovering from the Angelic attack. "Well, here's our stop." he says as he makes his way down towards the group below. Lightly, he lets Shinji touch the ground with his feet then lets himself set foot on the solid earth.
Domon then quickly turns to Solranous with slight depression in his voice. "Seems...we were too late...." the Gundam mutters, "I thought Great Mazinger was going to be here too, but I guess he headed straight to the Downtown area. But we got some other bad news...."
Looking directly to Solranous, his depression turns to slight anger. "Thrudgelmir....he wants to fight Mazinkaiser and Galeon....soon..." he says to the Soul Reaper, "Feels like things are snowballing downhill as we speak...".

Solranous quirked an eyebrow, "Thrudgelmir? Haven't heard of him for a while." The dragon shrugged at the news, though, "I have faith in those two, though, Mazinkaiser and Kaiser Galeon will achieve victory in that battle. Final Fusion or not, their spirits are burning too brightly too be extinguished so soon. There is nothing to worry about."
The dragon then nodded, standing up, "Well, it seems we have our battle team set up. Lets open a-"
"BAKA SHINJI!?" Asuka finally exploded, jabbing an accusing finger at the purpe Eva in question, interrupting Solranous while she was at it.
"Asuka?" Shinji answered back, just as surprised as she was at them meeting one another. What caught the amethyst Eva more off guard though, was the fiery German rushing at him, grabbing him by his neck and screaming at him, the words unintelligible due to them running into one another.
She never noticed Shinji's hand coming up, she didn't notice it flying at her, and she didn't notice it until it smacked her in the face, sending her tumbling onto her back.
"Please... Shut up..." was all he muttered to his crimson companion.
'This... this isn't the baka I knew... the Shinji I knew... would be running away from me and apologizing for everything I accused him of...' Asuka thought, too shocked to give voice to her opinion on what just happened.
Solranous just blinked at the exchange that just happened. "Uh... did I miss something?" he asked, trying to break the sudden silence.
