Kris had followed Volk's scent into the heart of the city. As she moved along the path she noticed scents beginning to cover up the one she was tracking. All the humans were waking up and coming out of their houses creating fumes she barely handle.
"Blast these humans and their wretched smog. Dammit they've even caused me to lose his scent now! Now where should I begin looking", she muttered to herself as she passed by a couple strolling through the park.
Why would he come here though? This would be the last place he would come to seek refuge from what I recollect. Volk you stupid sunnuva why couldn't you have waited for me.
She plopped down on a bench and pouted while she tried to stomach the horrid fumes of the human world.

It was then that the most well-known lycan to Nightshade's paranormal residents rounded the corner of a tree, wearing gray sweatpants and a white tanktop, long black hair in a high ponytail. Said hairstyle bobbed happily as she jogged past Kris's bench, a set of small headphones in each ear blaring music as she bounded on by, then paused several feet past Kris's location. She scratched her head without looking back, sensing Kris was a lycan most likely, judging from the flare of her nostrils. She slowly passed it off as one from her pack, and continued jogging on by.

Kris sat on the bench as Lora passed by. She was down in the dumps until she caught Lora's scent as she jogged past. Kris shot up from the bench and followed the other Lycan for a little while as she looked over her shoulders every now and then while trying to see if she had been in contact wtih Volk at all.
She finally closed the gap and tapped Lora's shoulders a couple of times.
"Um excuse me could you possibly help me", she muttered.
She followed the unknown Lycan for a while as she waited for a response. She had no idea if this was even a good idea.
Wait I know what pack she's from it's feint but I can tell she's a Darkwood!
Kris's eyes were just slightly wider and more aware when she came to that realization. Nonetheless she still waited for an answer.

Lora stiffened when Kris tapped her, but upon hearing the question quickly removed a headphone and turned to face her, looking inquisitive.
"Uhh, sure... what can I help you with?"
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she got a better grasp on Kris's scent. It definately did -not- smell like her... more like the blue lycan she'd met at the lake.
Wait... he said he was an ex-Nightpeak... so... that means... that this one... ... oh shit. This can't be good. She thought, maintaining her composure.

"I've been looking for... one like us... he has dark blue hair, and goes by the name Volk. His pack name was Berg Nightpeak", she said in down sort of tone. "I really need to find him. I think I know what you're thinking I'm here for but I really don't want things to come to that kind of an end."
She nervously drew small circles with one foot as she looked at the ground with a slight blush in her face.
Please Volk wait for me. I want to help you right now when you could use it most. I know you better than anyone else in this world. You hurt me so when you left me to be used by the Elders and your father as they saw fit. Just let me in this once so that I can share the burden of your pain.
She waited for Lora to give her response though she had little hope of actually being helped since they wer of different packs.

Lora processed this for a moment, a blank look on her face, then suddenly gave a mixed look of joy, knowing, and dissapointment.
"Ohh, Volk? Well... I hate to break it to you, if you are in fact a Nightpeak, but... he came to us as a Ghostwolf and took our Initiation Trials. He's a Darkwood, one of us now."
She rubbed her arm, glancing to the side.
"If you're an assassin, which I doubt from your tone... then he's under our protection now. If you just want to find him... I could probably arrange that for you. I'd need time to prepare it, though."
She glanced back at Kris, waiting her response.

Kris looked up at Lora with tears in her eyes.
"He really did it... well I am an assassin sent after him but... I no longer hold those values and orders to be my motive. I recently came to terms with my true feelings for him. I-I could never cause him any harm let alone kill him. Please I'm begging you help find him... he means the world to me!"
Tears were now rolling down her cheeks as she looked into Lora's eyes. She truly did not want to be affiliated with the Nightpeak and their plans to rid the world of her sole meaning for life.
Kris's emotion buckled and she finally broke down bawling. Her legs started to lose all sense of steadiness causing her to lose her balance. She half fell towards Lora since her legs wouldn't bare her weight any longer.

Lora caught Kris in her half-fall, a sorrowful look upon her face. She glanced about several times, then turned back to Kris and muttered,
"Well... I do believe I can help. I highly doubt your pack will like it, and at this point I feel you're already an outcast with them. But... if Volk means that much to you, and you're willing to risk it, then damnit, I'll help you get to him."
She stood Kris up, hands on her shoulders as she stared her in the eyes, thinking as she spoke.
"Listen. Next time I see Volk, I'll tell him about you and get him to a specified location at a certain date. You'll need to get there at the same time. Don't worry about your pack or mine interfering- mine's very understanding, and I'll have my boyfriend round up some of his buddies to watch over the area. Got it?"
She smiled at Kris, adding,
"Believe me... we can make this work."

Kris looked at Lora as she wiped her eyes off. She couldn't believe how cold pack now seemed when compared to that of the Darkwood. It's almost as if any shred of caring was eliminated by the packleader and elders.
"You really would do this for an outsider? Won't that get you in trouble though", she asked concerned if it would put this kind Lycan in harm's way.
She still felt a little weak in her legs but could hold herself up now that her emotional upheaval had calmed down. Was she finally going to be able to meet with Volk at last after the many years he was locked away, she just couldn't believe it and that it was seemingly so easy too.

Lora gave a short, light laugh at this, then shook her head.
"No, believe me, it won't. As long as it doesn't get the Pack in trouble, there won't be a problem. Even if we do, I can always have my friends help out..." She replied, hesitating at the end.
She shook her head, then looked back at Kris and nodded, determination back in her face.
"But yes... I would do that for an 'outsider'. We Darkwood still have a pretty strong grip on our human selves... unlike your pack, it would seem. No offense." She added.
She sighed, glancing at her watch.
"Which reminds me... do you have any idea of a date we could do this? Or a location?" She asked.

"I honestly couldn't say, but it can't be too far off seeing as if I return without Volk's head I take his place in the crater chamber", she moaned. "The Nightpeak lost their way when his father came to be packleader. He's turned the pack laws into baseless accusations and imprisonments. If it weren't for that 'prophecy', everything would have been just fine and Volk wouldn't be this way."
Her head hung in a dejected manner as she waited to see what time Lora could think of. She really didn't care so long as she was able to see Volk again, but on her own terms this time and not those of the Elders or the Packleader.

Lora scowled at the statement, muttering,
"Hell of a pack I bet... Okay, well obviously the volcano won't do... don't like it there anyway. Hmm... well... we could always do the abandoned district. I know several people there who'd be willing to help, along with my boy's 'troops'... for lack of a better term. And I doubt the Nightpeak would be willing to look there anyway."
She smirked, pounding her fist into her palm with a nod.
"Yes! That'll work great. Now, as for a time... how 'bout two nights from now? The moon'll be at third quarter, and I hear it'll be a clear night. May make your conversation a little easier if you're under a bit of lunacy..." She added with a grin at the end.

"That would work I guess though I'd prefer it be as low key as possible. After all I have no clue if I'm being tailed slowly or not and if a pack member finds both our scents in the same area and Volk's head hasn't been taken to the elders and packleader I get the death penalty for sure", she said.
"I really can't believe that we're finally going to see each other after all this time. I do hope he remembers me. Will he feel the same as me though?"
She had a concerned look on her face as she thought to herself. She was really a nervous wreck inside though she never showed it on the outside while talking with other Lycans.

Lora waved a dismissive hand.
"Bah! I'll let no such thing happen to you, not as long as I have a say in it. Hell... I myself was saved by my boyfriend from being executed by my own pack..."
She slowly clutched at her arm, remembering the ordeal.
"I... I had trouble discovering my Aspect, and my spiritual force kinda... got out of hand because of it. What was worse was the fact that it acted as a signal for spiritual predators... my pack Elders didn't take kindly to this, for fear of the rest of Darkwood's safety."
She sniffed, her ponytail bobbing as she smiled.
"So... they put me on trial and sentenced me to die because of my inability. However, someone I'd thought of as a good friend intervened at the last second, and challenged the entire pack on his own."
Her smile turned to a blush as she muttered,
"Not only did he subdue most of them, but he came out unscathed... they asked him why he would do such a thing, and he told them how much I meant to him..."
She gave a small laugh, shaking her head.
"Well, I got my second chance, and my Aspect was determined. I've forgiven the Elders since Zahn got the boot... and we're all okay now. As will you. We'll get you to Volk, and we'll keep your pack out of it. Understand?"

Kris merely nodded at Lora's words. She had no idea if she could really trust this girl and yet she had nothing else to go on.
"Guess I'll find out her true intentions in two days in the abandoned district of this hellhole."
"Alright I understand, two days from now in the abandoned district, and under cover of darkness I presume", she said getting up ready to leave in case she actually was being tailed by another Nightpeak.
