Name: Garrett Age: 18 Alignment: Neutral Species: Augmented Human
Height: 6’1 Weight: 168 pounds Length: N/A Wingspan: N/A
Description: Without Varion activated, Garrett appears to be a normal teenager. He has blue-green eyes, scruffy-looking, short, black-brown hair, and seems to always have a layer of stubble on his lower face. He has slightly broad shoulders, and while a bit skinny, has a decent amount of muscle. He’s usually wearing blue jeans with either a red or a gray t-shirt with some sort of snappy insult on the front.
Abilities: Inhuman Abilities- Garrett brings the phrase ‘more than meets the eye’ to a whole new level. He’s 20 times stronger, faster, and more durable than a normal human, and his senses are insanely acute to boot.
Bio-Morph- Garrett’s watch will glow a bright green, and he’ll take on a biomechanical appearance, composed of a purple-gray bio-metal. Then, pieces of armor will appear around him before coming together around him, fusing to his form and causing Garrett to become Varion. This can be disengaged at will, and requires a 6-foot radius around him to work.
Personality: After the culmination of so many painful events, the teen's personality has visibly been effected. He's silent, brooding, and very quick to anger. He prefers solitude most of the time, but he'll occasionally be social with some of the other members of Nightshade. His humor has remained intact, even if it's buried under piles of anger, and though he may not seem like it, he's still a decent person when he wants to be. History: After losing the Guyver unit, Garrett wandered around Nightshade for about a week, disheartened at the fact he could no longer actively participate in most of the battles there. One day, however, he encountered the dying man Akira, who bestowed unto him an odd watch. Not wanting to go back on a promise he made to a dying man, Garrett kept the watch, which, unbeknownst to him, was a good choice. Not several days later, Garrett was attacked by Khimera, and while the Scourge was fighting off Eko, Garrett conversed with the entity known as Varion, of whom was linked to the watch. In a burst of light, Garrett became an armored, biomechanical ‘knight’ of sorts. Now, with the power of Varion at his disposal, he’s rejoined the good fight and hopes to keep it that way.
Equipment/Belongings: Watch- A simple digital watch at first glance, this device is actually used to call forth the Varion armor from its distant star. If the watch is taken, he cannot call forth the Varion. When not in use, it can tell normal time, and even be used to communicate with Varion’s AI (though Garrett may abuse this for conversations).
Ford Ranger- Garrett owns a 1999 Ford Ranger truck, with 4x4 capability. It has a silver paint job and tan-gray, cloth seat covers. Has 19 miles to the gallon.

Name: Varion Age: Unknown Alignment: (both Garrett & Varion) Neutral Species: Biomechanical mecha
Height: 7’4 Weight: 553 pounds Length: None Wingspan: 12 feet
Description: An angular, form-fitting armor with a slight amount of bulk bearing a chrome/dark-gray coloration starts it off. Angular, dark-blue metal covers most of the head, shins, forearms, upper chest (and most of back), pelvis, and shoulders; the shin and forearm plating’s tops/front shaped like diamonds, and the shoulder plates resembling diamonds with the bottom point flattened. A three-pointed ‘star’ made of silver metal adorns most of his chest, with a green, semi-transparent hemisphere set into it’s center, as well as a three-pointed silver crest adorning his forehead (one point jutting off to each side, and one pointing straight up). His eyes are a pure green, and if one looks close enough, they can see a sort of ‘pupil’ behind the semi-transparent material. A pair of face-plates makes up everything on his face below his eyes, and his fists/feet are a metallic black color, with diamond-shaped, silver ‘studs’ adorning each knuckle. A triangular blade adorns the back of each forearm, and a pair of 4-foot black rods are positioned on either side of his wings. Said wings are black as well, and are shaped much like a stretched-out triangle, with the points flattened. A booster sits in the center of Varion’s back, positioned between the two rods and the wings.
Abilities: Star Buster- The central ‘point’ on Varion’s crest will slide upwards, revealing a diamond-shaped blue crystal. The crystal will then quickly draw in energy before unleashing it as a thin beam of electric-blue, electromagnetic energy. The beam has significant concussive potential, and can burn through most materials with ease. Couple these together, and you have an effective all-range beam weapon. Rapid fire isn’t possible with this, and after the beam is fired, it requires a 2-minute cool down, and consecutive use begins to cause major headaches.
Nova Burst- Varion’s right fist will become sheathed in a sphere of green, semi-transparent energy as he throws a punch. Upon impact, the sphere will erupt in a powerful shockwave of concussive energy. The burst is powerful enough to rip through most mechs, and the force behind the fist alone is enough strength to smash through concrete. The attack can only be used every so often, and consecutive use will damage Varion as well.
Nebula Pulse- The star-shaped plating on Varion’s chest will slide away from the green crystal, then begin to pump pure energy from Varion’s energy source (see below) into the openings. The energy will then be released in a wide, short-range blast concussive enough to rip through a line of tanks, and hot enough to turn those tanks into sludge. Due to the force and heat of the energy, this attack is somewhat damaging to Varion, and is used sparingly. Requires a three-second charge time.
Astral Strength- While not as strong as some, Varion does boast an impressive strength, being able to lift/exude up to 4 tons, maximum 6 tons if straining.
Overdrive- By drawing in excessive amounts of energy, Varion will begin to glow a reddish color, and his hip/forearm/shoulder/shin plates jut out. In this mode, all of his physical abilities increase output 10-fold. He’s faster, stronger, and the excessive energy he generates can empower his energy attacks, as well as serve as a sort of extra defense, active as long as he’s in Overdrive mode. However, he can only sustain this mode for roughly five minutes; otherwise the mech’s internal systems will begin to fry and Garrett will begin to black out.
Power of the Great Star- Varion is powered by the very object that contains him while not in battle: An artificially-created star by the name of Deltas-47. Instead of having a gaseous core, the star has a large hollow, metal sphere that houses the mecha, along with the multiple teleportation devices that make his instantaneous arrivals possible. Multiple ‘solar panels’ are located along the outer-most edge of the sphere, drawing in the star’s limitless energy and providing it to Varion via a sort of ‘satellite’ system. When Varion is inert within the sphere, an array of machines will tend to his damage and repair it as much as possible (which is usually fully). As long as the star exists, and the solar panels are intact, Varion has unlimited energy, but there is one drawback: If overburdened, energy is drained from the host, leaving them extremely fatigued until they can recover. Also, if Varion’s core is to be destroyed, it will detonate with roughly the force of a small atom bomb.
Personality: While Garrett still manipulates the machine internally, there is in fact another mind in Varion, the suit’s AI. Utilizing a cross between cold machine logic and the heart of a hero, Varion can be a very confusing entity to know. He’ll either jump to an alley’s side in a second, or he can scoff at them and tell them to die on their own. His humor is rather dry and unimpressive. He tends to pick on his hosts every once-in-a-while, mostly for his amusement.
History: After the ’original’ Harbinger, Akira, was defeated by the Ether Lords, he bestowed Varion onto Garrett with his dying breath. Not wanting to go back on such a request, Garrett kept the summoning device, attempting to figure it out. In a time of crisis, Garrett pleaded to the inactive machine to help him do something, and his request was granted as Proto-Varion appeared from out of thin air and bonded to the teen. Now, with the ability to fight once more, both aid the good fight in Nightshade as much as they can.
When he was aiding Solranous and Shin Getter in the fight against Devil Kaiser, Varion dubbed Garrett 'experienced enough', and the true Varion was fully released.
Equipment/Belongings: Orion Blades- At will, Varion can cause a pair of handles to emerge from the center his shoulders, allowing themselves to be ‘unsheathed’ into a pair of 6-foot long, katana-like blades. Upon being drawn, the blades themselves will then split down the middle (edge-wise) and produce a fiery green energy. The blades alone are sharp enough to cut through rock, and the added energy the blades produce aids their cutting potential, as well as cauterizing most wounds they cause. These weapons run off of the same energy source as Varion himself, so they can be deployed as long as required.
Heaven Breaker- The two 5-foot rods on Varion’s back will detach and fly into the air, as well as the two triangular blades on each forearm. The four parts will then be magnetically drawn to each other, combining into a 10-foot long spear with a blade much like an elongated triangle, with the back tips sweeping backwards and an oval-oid, glowing green ‘crystal’ lodged in the center of the blade. As a finisher, the blade will split in half around the green ‘crystal, then project a 10-foot long blade of green energy hot enough to melt synthetic diamond. The energy it generates will destabilize almost all other sources of energy (i.e. including beams, shields, etc). Upon the blade entering a solid target, the generator will flare up its energy output, destabilizing all opposing energy within the target, most likely causing instant death as all (or most) the victim‘s energy erupts outwards from their body violently. This blade can only be sustained for 1 minute at a time, for due to its high energy output, the blade generator will overheat and most likely shut down.
Jets- Varion has multiple fusion-powered boosters located in his feet, back, and wings that allow for a fast and maneuverable flight, up to Mach 1 (with little maneuverability, of course). These engines run off of the fusion occurring within Deltas-47, so they too, have unlimited usage.

Name: Ryouki Age: Unknown Alignment: Neutral Species: Biomechanical mecha
Height: 4'10 (shoulder) Weight: 487 pounds Length: 12 feet (snout to end of tail) Wingspan: 15 feet
Description: If one can imagine a black, mechanical dragon, then one can picture Ryouki. His wings are angular, yet bat-shaped, and his head is an almost-wedge-shaped rectangle, two red-orange, a pair of almost diamond-shaped eyes in the appropriate place, and six horn-like blades, three on either side of the back of his head. He has three triangular claws on each foot (two in front, one in back), and the center of his back is raised, a single booster set into the back of the raised section. His hind legs are slightly larger than the forelegs, and both sets bear a triangular plate jutting out at the joint/knee, though the foreleg’s plates are relatively smaller. His triangular-shaped chest bears a glowing green hemisphere embedded in its center, with the plating covering it slightly. His joints are a metallic dark blue (the same shade as most of Varion' plating), and his neck/tail are sinuous and flexible.
Abilities: Ether Blaze- Ryouki can discharge a blast of electric-blue ‘flames’ from his maw, the substance hot enough to literally melt some of the densest of materials. This fire doesn’t cling to flammable substances, as regular fire would, and a stream can be sustained for up to five seconds at a time.
Plasma Slash- For up to 3 seconds at a time, Ryouki can charge his claws with crackling green energy, heating them up to the point where their cutting potential is doubled, as well as adding volatile surges of this energy upon impact. Usable once every five minutes or so.
Nebula Storm- Similar to Varion’s Nebula Pulse, panels on his wings will begin to slide open, revealing ‘strips’ of green hemispheres. All hemispheres will then charge with an orchid-colored energy before scattering thick rays of said energy in either a single direction or covering a 50-foot arc in front and to the sides of Ryouki. Each blast is concussive enough to punch a clean hole through a brick wall, and hot enough to slag everything within a foot on impact. Usable once every half-hour; requires 5-second charge time.
Barrier Field- The end of Ryouki’s tail can split open and produce a teal, hexagonal-shaped shield of protective energy. The barrier can only face one direction at a time, and is approx. 8 feet around. The shield blocks almost all energy-based attacks, but few physical attacks.
Jets- Stored in Ryouki’s wings and back, these jets allow him to reach a top fly speed of Mach 4, with decent maneuverability. These run off of the same energy as Varion’s jets, and therefore have an unlimited amount of usage.
Remote Link- Ryouki has a direct link to Varion at all times, which allows him to constantly communicate with the AI and his pilot in the same way Varion can.
Corona Drive- A sequence in which Ryouki will combine with Varion, generating a 20-foot dome composed of extreme heat and gravitational energy around the pair until the fusion is complete. Both Varion and Ryouki must be functioning at roughly 30% minimum for this to work, and require at least a 15-foot radius to effectively combine.
Power of the Great Star- Ryouki is powered by the same source as Varion, and has the same access to Deltas-47 as his ‘brother’ does, being repaired in it when out of combat.
Personality: Almost an opposite of his hot-headed ally/brother Varion, Ryouki’s a calm, collected entity who always thinks things out before acting. He’s got an excellent humor, and almost always laughs at a joke, and is extremely loyal to any and all friends or allies.
History: Ryouki was, at one point in time, Spite. But he was this entity long before that, so it seems. Ryouki was there when Varion and Akira defeated Nexus the first time, but seems to have had disappeared shortly after. O’Malley found the almost-destroyed machine in the desert, whereupon he was modified/rebuilt into Spite. When Spite had become a Zonder, Ubelgeist’s finishing attack seemed to have a purifying effect on the machine, reverting him back into what he was before… whereupon his link to Deltas-47 was revived, and after extensive repair within the pseudo-star, became Ryouki once more.

Name: Corona Varion Age: Unknown Alignment: (all three) Neutral Species: Biomechanical mecha
Height: 9’8 feet Weight: 1024 pounds Length: N/A Wingspan: 15 feet
Description: Ryouki has virtually separated into multiple sections and attached to Varion accordingly, much like a suit of armor. The dragon’s hind-legs have shifted around and attached over Varion’s legs, the two front claws snapping together to form one solid piece. The fore-legs have done a similar action, sliding into themselves a bit and snapping around Varion’s arms. All three claws on each either fore-foot have shifted backwards, locking perfectly onto the forearms and allowing a fist resembling a clawed, spiked gauntlet to emerge from the original claw’s palm. Ryouki’s tail has split into two solid triangular plates, each halve connecting to either of Varion’s hips. The body itself has shifted around and slid over Varion’s upper-torso, the dragon’s head having separated slightly at the top and shifted/set into the chest, causing a diamond-shaped green crystal to emerge from the center of the head. The middle-most section of Ryouki’s body has shifted outwards, forming a pair of pentagonal shoulder-guards with rounded front-and-back sides. The dragon’s wings have shifted onto Varion’s back as his folded against his back, giving him the pair of draconic wings in their place. Finally, the central, back-most section of Ryouki’s body has split into a helmet, of which has slid around Varion’s head. The helmet resembles Varion’s previous face almost exactly, but a black in color and a five-pointed silver crest. A mouth guard with an appearance similar to Nexus’s has slid over his lower-face. A slightly-curved, ridged horn is set into either side of his head, swept backwards, and another horn running back from the back of the helmet‘s enlarged tri-crest.
Abilities: Shining Star Buster- The red gem on Varion’s head-crest will begin to draw in energy at a quick rate, then release it as a thick beam of red-orange, electromagnetic energy. The beam is roughly twice as hot as Varion‘s original version, and three times as concussive. The beam requires the same cool-down time, however.
Nebula Wave- A port will open on both of Varion’s shoulders, revealing three juxtapositioned lime-green hemispheres. These can fire pure cosmic energy routed in from Deltas-47 in a wide beam. The blast is powerful enough to wipe out a city block, turning anything left behind into slag from its sheer heat. Requires three-second charge time; usage must be restricted due to small amounts of damage inflicted upon Varion and incredible strain put on Garrett per shot.
Meteor Blitz- By opening several ‘vents’ on his right forearm, Corona Varion can spin the outer-most layer of armor on the appendage like a drill, while emitting large amounts of heat and energy. The initial hit will drill into the target for several seconds before discharging a powerful burst of lethal radiation. With these qualities coupled together, the Meteor Blitz proves to be a powerful short-range weapon, capable of punching through some of the strongest materials in a single blow. Usable once every five minutes.
Erupting Corona Strike- Varion’s overly-flashy finishing move, this attack involves charging his left hand with massive amounts of gravitational force. Drawing in sources of small matter from over a 500-foot radius using said gravity, Varion then begins churning the materials into a tight vortex using the gravitational force charged in his hand. The materials will begin to flare in temperature, compressing and compacting, churning and turning until its eventually becomes a ball of bright white plasma. This is where the fun begins. While the sphere is still developing, Varion will flare up his jets, rushing forward so he can ‘push’ the sphere into his opponent. Upon reaching them, the sphere of plasma will burn through their exterior and rapidly begin expanding in size as the victim‘s matter is used to fuel the sphere, creating a virtual mini-star within said victim. The star keeps expanding until matter isn’t available in the area, or up to a full 100 meters in diameter before it collapses in on itself harmlessly. Due to the massive power output this attack requires, not to mention the physical toll it has on Varion, this attack can only be used very sparingly (hence ‘finisher’). As soon as the move is completed, both Ryouki and Varion’s power output will be nigh nonexistent, and may only be able to sustain the fusion for another ten minutes. Garrett will be suffering from the massive physical toll the attack demands, a coma, or even death, being quite possible.
Astral Abilities- While not as strong as some, Corona Varion does boast an impressive strength, being able to lift/exude up to 6 tons, maximum 8 if straining. His basic land speed, in this form, is roughly 50 to 60 times that of a normal human’s, and with surprising agility to boot.
Thalean Star-Plate- The combination between Varion and Ryouki has super-hardened and super-densified the armor of both. Corona Varion can take roughly 2 tons worth of force without even slowing down, and up to 10 before the armor becomes breached.
When Varion is inert within the sphere, an array of machines will tend to his damage and repair it as much as possible. As long as the star exists, and the solar panels are intact, Varion has unlimited energy, but there is one drawback: If overburdened, energy is drained from the host, leaving them extremely fatigued until they can recover. Also, if Varion’s core is to be destroyed, it will detonate with roughly the force of a mid-sized atom bomb. In this form, his core’s stability has increased five-fold, due to having four other mini-generators within his body, so this is (almost) not a factor.
Personality: In this form, all three members of this body are more serious than could ever be expected, completely focused on the task at hand, refusing to rest until it’s complete. Their anger is fierce, their will strong, and their determination unmatchable. All three tend to be a bit more 'bestial' in this form, growling and roaring quite frequently in a mixture of their own voices.
History: After the ‘original’ Harbinger, Akira, was defeated by the Ether Lords, he bestowed Varion onto Garrett with his dying breath.
When the purified Spite, known once more as Ryouki, returned to fight by their side, the trio knew their strength was at its highest. That was, until, a near-fatal fight was initiated against the Helix King, Lazengann. With nowehere else to turn, the beaten trio initiated the Corona Drive, fusing them into the behemoth known as Corona Varion.
Equipment/Belongings: Cosmic Ravager- Drawn from a port on his back, this 10-foot long, broadsword-esque blade is in fact the fusion of Varion’s old Gemini Blades. The weapon has a guard similar to the shape of Ryouki’s head, but splits in half along the center when drawn, allowing the halves to set out to the sides, forming the full guard. The blade/s is now tinted an electric-blue in color, while a red gem-like structure is set into the center of the split guard. This blade has the same energized trait as the Gemini Blades, but at roughly three times their original strength and power, allowing it to cut through almost any known material. Also, the weapon can manipulate ions in the nearby air and super-charge them, creating an aura of electricity around the blade for three seconds at a time, with unlimited usage.
Jets- Varion has multiple fusion-powered boosters located in his feet, back, and wings that allow for a fast and maneuverable flight, up to Mach 4 (now with decent maneuverability). These engines run off of the fusion occurring within Deltas-47, so they too, have unlimited usage.
