A lone humanoid shape was standing alone on the cliffs, humming to itself as it paced in a circle, staring at the ground as it did so. A myriad of runes had been carved in the rock, in the shape of said circle, the figure nodding.
"That should do it... now, let's finish it." It muttered in a deep voice.
It then stabbed a sword as long as it was tall into the center of the circle, then rested both hands on its hilt as it did so. Each of the runes began to glow a deep golden-brown in color as the figure started growling quiet incantations, the glow growing in intensity as it went on.
"...in your unyielding patience, place your watch over this place, and channel a small portion of your power into it, so that a humble Urathear's avatar may gain aid in his duty of watching this realm." It finished.
The runes abruptly flashed their brightest, then rapidly died down, revealing the the symbols had dissapeared completely from the rock. The figure sighed, then tore its sword free from the dirt, attaching it onto a large clamp fastened on the back of its dark-purple armor. Its cloak billowed in the wind, as did its blade-like hair as it sat down on the edge of a cliff, armored legs dangling over the edge.
"Whew... the first four points are done, now I just need to do the Light and Dark points... should make my job a little easier." Shive yawned, arching his back in an attempt to pop it.
He looked back at the desert, the massive Machinima Cromian visible in the distance. He shuddered a bit, and muttered something under his breath as he shut his eyes.

Kris had been watching the dragonkin perform his little ritual in an attempt to understand the proceeding's purpose. She waited for him to turn his back b4 she hopped down behind him and closed the distance intending to ask him a question.
"Have you seen a Lycan with Dark Blue hair recently?", she said rather loudly for having just snuck up behind the imposing figure.
She was nearly touching his shoulder when she proposed her question and didn't seem to think that she would receive a bad reaction for doing so. She merely waited for an answer with a small smile on her face.

The action had caused Shive to jump a bit, which in-turn caused him to lose his seat on the cliff and fall off of it, issuing a yelp of surprise as he did so. A whir of air heralded his landing a few feet from Kris, eyes wide and panting as he caught his breath, then rounded on the female lycan with a twitching eye.
"One should not sneak up on another, then surprise them as such when they're on the edge of A FRIGGIN 800-FOOT DROP!!" He hissed.
He sighed, then folded his wings under his cloak, draping it back over his shoulder after doing so. He then turned back on Kris with a much less frightening demeanor and replied,
"But to answer your question, no, sadly, I have not... nor did I know that lycans could have such a coloration. Huh."
He scratched his frill-like ear, then added,
"I am to assume you too are lycan?"

Kris shrank back with a bit of tears in her eyes when the dragonkin scolded her. Memories flooded back into her mind of times before Volk had protected her.
"I-I'm sorry... I just can't help it...honestly", she gives an audible sniff from her depression. "Yes I am a Lycan though. The one I'm looking for is a target, though I sincerely wish he wasn't."
She tried to suppress her memories from her childhood as she spoke. Whenever a person scolded her for her sneaking up on them, she becomes depressed and sad though it is no fault of the person she is speaking.

Shive sighed at Kris's tears, then slowly turned to the side, staring up at the sky.
"Ahh. I apologize if I'd brought up uncomfortable thoughts..."
He sighed as the wind blew slightly, and he bowed his head, intaking the dusty smell of the desert breeze. He gave a slight smirk, muttering,
"Reminds me of home..."
He slowly looked back up at Kris, then popped his neck, shifting his feet uncomfortably under her gaze.
"A target, eh...? Sorry to hear that. If I could help, I would..."
He blinked, bowing his head again slightly, before shooting a burly hand out and extending it at Kris.
"Name's Shive. You?"

Kris slowly looked at Shive once more.
"It's alright there's no need to apologize it's mostly my fault for not compensating for this 'skill", she replied.
She looked deep into his eyes as she tried to discern if he was being truthful or not. She waited a second before she returned her name to him.
"My name is Kris from the Nightpeak pack. The person I'm looking for is named Volk, he was an older brother to me though... my feelings have changed since then", she said as she held her hands over her heart and bowed her head. "I appreciate your concern but if an outsider helps me... well it's just best if they don't", she finished.

Shive nodded, listening intently as Kris explained herself. As she finished, he gave a slight smile, clapping a hand onto her shoulder.
"I can understand fully where you come from, Kris... and I can understand if you'd get in trouble or something by accepting my help, but I'm a lot stronger than I look... and if you -do- need my help, the offer still stands. I'm not hard to find, heh."
He gave a deep sigh, shaking his head slightly.
"As for this... 'Volk'... don't give up on him. If there's one thing I understand about other people, it's the look in your eye when you mention his name. That I've seen many times, and in fact have experienced."
He turned his back to Kris, staring up at the night sky, claws curled into fists and placed on his hips.
"If you really feel that way... if your feelings have truely changed, and you know it... then please, for your sake... make sure he knows it. Otherwise, you'll never know if he feels the same way, and you'll spend the rest of your life wondering..."
He smirked, looking over his shoulder back at Kris.
"That, I know... I've experienced it before. Luckily, I fixed the problem before it couldn't be fixed..."

Kris wiped her face off a little bit and issued a slight sniffle. She still bore a saddened look in her eyes.
"But he's only ever seen me as a little sister. How can I be certain he would feel something for me, he probably doesn't even like me because of how much he had to protect me", she curses at herself. "I honestly don't know how to go about this. If I follow my pack's orders he'll die and if I don't my life will be forfeit same thing if I asked for your help and my pack found out. Our elders are rather strict when it comes to disobediance."
Her mind was wrought with turmoil. It didn't matter what she did but she would die in some manner no matter how she resolved her personal conflict.
"I appreciate your offer and will keep it in mind as a last resort, but if I can avoid I would like to do so. No offense", she mutters.
She huddled herself and looked to the sky wondering where Volk was and what he was going through.

Shive sighed, shaking his head, still staring to the desert.
"Again, I say, you'll never know until you find out for yourself... as for your elders, well, I was never one for pack mentality, but... decide your own path. If doing what your heart tells you means leaving your pack, then do it, so long as it makes you happy."
He exhaled a puff of acrid mist through his nostrils, and finished,
"If you do find yourself in trouble with your pack, though, again... just ask for my help."
He paused, then looked up, giving the sky a confused look. What looked like a star was getting bigger and bigger, until Shive choked aloud. A streak of fiery light passed a few hundred feet over their heads and crashed into the woods on the next mountain over with an explosion of dirt and flame. Shive blinked, then gritted his teeth.
"Gah... I'd check it out, but forging the Points is tiring me out... and I can't afford to stop now anyway..."
He glanced back down at Kris, then back at the burnt patch of mountain.

Kris watched in amazement at the thing that flew into the mountains. She felt a bit concerned about what the thing was and how close it would come to the pack territory.
"What do you think that was? It gives me a creepy feeling", she spoke to Shive. "I'm scared now I've never seen anything like that."
Kris stood up and felt concerned for Volk. She hda made up her mind she would tell him of her mission in hopes he would leave the area and stay safe.

Shive sighed, shrugging his cloak off of his wings.
"I'm not sure, probably a meteor or something. Still, someone should check it out... I would, but I can't stop my work now..."
He bit his lip, scowling, before he fully spread his wings, barking,
"Oh, hey- if you investigate it, be careful, just in case. T'was nice meeting you, Kris..."
With that, the dragonkin launched off into the night, creating a burst of wind on the ground as he exited the area, leaving Kris all by her lonesome.

Kris watched as Shive took off.
"Not going to look into that thing, whatever it was. Knowing Volk he's probably near a lake or river. Think I'll check the river first considering he loves waterfalls", she mused to herself on the abandoned cliffside.
She headed along the cliffs at a slight trot. She hummed to herself as she thought about the prospect of finally confessing her true feelings to Volk at last.
"I really am getting nervous about this. I hope he'll listen to what I have to say", she questions herself as she nears the edge of the cliffs and takes off for the forest.
