Aside from the battle raging miles away, the desert seemed silent, not even the sound of various rodents or insects could be heard.
This silence was soon disrupted by a short flash of light, and a crash that sent sand flying high into the air.
"Gragh! damnit, what just happened... and where the hell am I!?" a crimson armored being similar in size to Kyokan screamed, glancing around feverishly.

"Judging from the properties of that burst of energy, you were thrown into this dimension from your own, thanks to unknown causes." A flat, masculine voice sighed.
On the dune, just feet away from the crimson entity, stood the lithe form of Ingram Prisken as he stared down at her with those cold yellow eyes of his. He was glancing at her over his shoulder as the rest of him faced the veritable tower of metal and biomechanical flesh that was once Machinima in the distance. Slowly, he turned his full attention back to the massive Cromian roughly several miles away, yet asked,
"Your name...?"

"... Asuka, Asuka Langely Soryu" the newcomer responded, getting back to her feet.
At least, had she not seen her arm and leg when she got into a kneeling position to push up.
Unseen by Ingram, Asuka's eyes, all four of them now, all shrank at the sight of the crimson armor she could only associate to one thing.
Evangelion Unit 02
"GWAAAAH! WHY THE HELL DO I LOOK LIKE EVA UNIT 02!? WHAT CAUSED ALL THIS TO HAPPEN!? AND WHY ME!?" Asuka screamed suddenly, falling back down as she stared at what was now her own hand with what horror she could display on her now armored face.

Ingram glanced back at her once more, and scowled a bit before muttering to the shocked Eva,
"my assumption would be that you've somehow fused with the entity you speak of during your transportation here... judging from your appearance, said entity was most likely a mecha. A common happening around here, actually... there are several others like yourself in this place. Pilot's souls forever bound to downsized versions of the killing machines they once handled."
He gave a bitter laugh, jacket whipping in a sudden desert breeze, most likely caused by Machinima's movements.
"Perhaps knowing what happened before your current 'situation' would aid me in deciphering your problem."

"Well... the last thing I remember is coming out from being comatose, waking up inside my Eva, which was at the bottom of a lake, and a military force was trying to destroy it with depth charges. While they could damage the Eva with them, they still hurt.
Anyways, I brought Unit 02 up out of the lake and fought back, driving them off... at least until they launched nine Evas of there own...
I fought them and I almost beat them too... but Unit 02 ran out of power, and the enemies regenerated from the damage. I was immobile, so the next thing I felt was a hail of lances... My memory is hazy after that... but I'm pretty sure I should be dead right now..."
The crimson Eva looked to the ground, before remembering something she saw, before turning to see it in full.
'...What... is that?'

I see... she's from that dimension... that explains it... He thought, staring ahead at Machinima.
"Interesting... well, I'm afraid I don't have a clear answer for you, Ms. Langely. All I can assume is that some force from your realm coincided with a major force in ours, and the result has brought you here. Like many others, it's unlikely that a way home, or a way for you to return to your old body, is possible."
He folded his arms in a casual manner, then added,
"I suggest you begin to make yourself comfortable here, then... to the north is the city of Nightshade, population 450,000. In it, and around it, you will find many others that are, as some would say, 'not of the norm'- some of them friendly, others hostile, the rest indifferent. It is safe to assume that you may find refuge among them, depending on your general attitude. Even then, you may require your new form to fight to keep it..."
In a brief flash, Ingram seemed much taller, and sheathed in oddly-shaped black, mechanical armor with a set of large, skeletal wings... but one could not be sure, for the image was gone as soon as it was seen. He sighed, then began to walk past the crimson Eva, abruptly informing her several feet away,
"Oh, and if it helps, there is another 'Eva' that resides here..."

"Another Eva?" Asuka suddenly asked, turning towards Ingram. She needed some company, somebody who knew exactly what she was going through. Although she disliked her fellow pilots, she was willing to stay close to them if they were here, she'd even take having 'Wondergirl' Rei around if she had to.
She doubted the man knew much about what an Evangelion was, so she couldn't use the Unit numbers to try and identify them with the man. Color, however, would settle nicely.
"Uh, do you know what color its armor was? most of the Evas have a distinctive color... and could you tell me where this other Eva is?" Asuka asked, her voice bordering on desperate in tone.

Ingram gave her a look bordering on glare over his shoulder, then continued walking.
"Silver, I do believe... goes by the name 'Kyokan'... last I recall, he spends most of his time in the forested areas of the mountains. Be advised- there are territorial and carnivorous creatures in those woods..."
As he dissapeared into the midday glare of the desert's heat, he shouted,
"Oh, and the thing behind you is what's called a 'Cromian'... or, at least, an amalgamation of many of them... biomechanical parasites with frightening physical abilities. Stay away from it, if you've still got your common sense..."
With that, the mysterious blue-haired man was gone.

Asuka took one last glance at Machinima, even though she had already made up her mind, and started to walk away, not feeling to concerned about it catching up to here because of how far away it was.
'Silver, huh? Never knew that there was a silver Evangelion...'
