Shive landed in the desert, glancing around. He brought up his hand to block out the sandy wind, only to pause. The wind was swirling around him in a vortex-like matter, but the center of the vortex was spreading away from him! He shifted into a defensive stance as the vortex stopped expanding with an approx. 100 foot diameter. He turned again to see a certain Hollow standing there, arms crossed.
“I see you did show up. Excellent.” Evihs hissed.
“What do you want with me, damnit?! You have your own body, so you don’t need me anymore!” Shive roared.
He paused as four LARGE shapes appeared just outside the diameter of the vortex. He couldn’t make anything out, but they stood a good 50 feet tall each. A pair of red eyes adorned what was assumed to be the head on each of them. Shive paled for a moment, and Evihs replied,
“On the contrary, my idiotic friend. You see, shortly after I got my new body, something’s been… happening to it.”
Evihs sighed and brought his hand to his face, shaking his head.
“My power has been diminishing. Sometimes slow, sometimes rapidly. But diminishing nonetheless. And that’s something I can’t have.”
Shive scowled and asked,
“So… I should care why?”
Evihs narrowed his eyes and replied,
“Because the proposition I’m about to make will depend on the life of all of your friends. Everyone you know.”
Shive blanched.
“Apparently, I hadn’t thought about the fact a Hollow can’t be separated from it’s original host without repercussions. So, here it is…” Evihs drifted.
“Either A: you give me your physical body and let me share it with you again (which I despise the idea of), or B: I can just absorb your soul into mine, restoring my full potential indefinitely.”
“But what if I refuse both? Cause, you know… both of those choices kinda suck.” Shive retorted.
“Because if you don’t pick one of the two, preferably the latter, I will send every Hollow I have available after your friends and loved one. They’re already positioned about the city, lying in wait for my command.”
Evihs smirked under the mask, apparent in his eyes.
“Because all Hollows pay homage to a Vasto Lorde. Even the Gillian.” He stated, thumbing behind him.
Shive looked behind Evihs, at the four large shapes. Four simultaneous, moaning roars echoed throughout the area, making Shive’s neck-scales stand on end.
“Bah. My friends can take your Hollow lackeys.”
“WRONG! Only those with connections to the spiritual world can harm Hollows. You and your friend Solranous are the only ones, because of your despicable Zanpaktou’s.”
Shive’s fists clenched, and Evihs smirked under the mask again.
“So, what’s it gonna be? Possession or straight submission?” He asked, throwing his arms to the side.
“And remember: There are hundreds of Hollow around the city. Hundreds, if not somewhere in the low thousands. What’s better is, if the Hollows kill your friends, they’ll become Hollows too.”
Shive’s eyes widened, and his fists clenched tighter. The Gillian behind him roared in unison again, and Evihs cackled.
“Five minutes to make up your mind.” He stated.
Shive glanced up, claws drumming on Hakaisha.
“Why can’t I just kill you?” He asked.
“Because even though my power is diminishing, I’m on an even plane with you. And just because my power is vanishing does not mean my power over lesser Hollows is. So if you attack me, I’ll whip your ass and kill your friends simultaneously.”
Shive’s shoulders sagged, and he collapsed to his knees. He stared at the ground in defeat, thinking,
If I don’t do what he says, my friends will die. If I do what he says, I’ll either be gone forever or be stuck with him in my damn body again, eventually leading to him taking me over and harming my friends again.
Shive bit his lip. He didn’t know what to do.
“Five minutes, starting now. That’s all you get to decide.” Evihs reminded him.
