Name: Daedalus
Age: 294 years (29 in human years)
Alignment: Neutral
Species: Demon-infused Dragonkin
Height: 9’2
Weight: 1047 pounds
Length: 5 feet
Wingspan: 15 feet
Description: Other than the chitinous, dark-gray armor that has attached itself over almost all of his body (excluding all of the head and neck), Daedalus hasn’t changed much. His scales are still a dark-red in color, but have gained a myriad of parallel black streaks (only visible ones are several on the neck and cheek areas). His violet eyes seem to produce their own light, making them visible even at night (but not enough to produce any actual light). His black hair has gained streaks of dark-blue. Now, as for the armor itself, it appears rounded in many areas, yet tapers to angular surfaces and spikes near the edges on almost every section. The wings themselves have even been sheathed in armor, with the wing-bones having been covered in the actual armor, and the wing-skin now appearing to be of an almost dark-blue, metallic sheen. A pair of thin, bony, segmented tendrils stretch forth from a pair of small ‘holes’, one each located on either side of his spine, at the lower-middle of his back. A series of slight ridges runs down his spine.
Abilities:
Breath Weapon- Daedalus has access to a gaseous, yellow-green breath weapon with extremely toxic effects. Anyone exposed to the gas will experience horrendous itching and burning on their skin and eyes, followed by a ‘painful numbing’ afterwards. Those who’ve breathed the fumes will experience internal bleeding as the corrosive gas eats away their internal organs, along with a powerful nausea and distortion of the senses. These effects last for about a good hour after exposure to the cloud has stopped, the burns and itching may persist for as long as several days. Usable once every three hours.
Demonic Prowess- Daedalus’s physical strength allows him to lift/exude up to 8 tons of weight (maximum). His constantly-flowing adrenalin, mixed with this physical trait, also gives him speed and reflexes 50 times that of a normal human’s. His senses, most notably sight and hearing, are at least 40 times better than that of a human’s. He can see perfectly in total darkness.
Force Blasts- Daedalus can discharge crackling, spherical bursts of concussive, profane energy from his hands. Each burst can be charged for up to 4 seconds, of which varies the strength of each blast. No charge can punch through a concrete wall with little effort (and rapid-fire is allowed), 2 seconds can rip completely through several feet of solid concrete, and 4 seconds fires a spear-shaped bolt of the energy, of which can blast through a reinforced concrete structure with no trouble. He can also channel these attacks into his fists, giving his punches devastating concussive bursts on impact.
Summon Fiends- Once a day, Daedalus may expend a good portion of his spiritual energy to tear a rift open to Hell, and from there, draw forth a number of demons with varying levels of power. Using this ability, Daedalus can summon the following selections:
-20 dretches (incredibly weak)
-10 Gladius’s (weak)
-5 vrocks (mid-strength)
-2 Gelugons (slightly above average)
-1 Blitz (moderately powerful)
Daedalus is only capable of this ability once per day, and is left tired after performing the ability.
Profane Assault- By charging a fair amount of his energy into Ashardalon (see below), Daedalus can fire off a massive billowing wave of swirling dark-purple and black energy by swinging the sword. This wave roughly covers a good 10-14 feet around, and can demolish nigh-anything in its path, in (to those who’ve been hit by it) a process like ‘burning alive, being crushed, slashed by dozens of blades, and disintegrating all at once’. The wave does indeed do slashing damage, but that’s mostly from the force of the energy rushing into someone. Damage-wise, this attack has enough force to wipe out roughly three (city) block’s worth of material. The attack takes roughly 5 seconds to charge, and cannot be used again for another ten minutes.
Regeneration- Daedalus can recover wounds at staggeringly fast rates, thanks to his demonic infusion. Minor wounds, such as light gouges or cuts, or a missing finger, are almost completely overlooked in regen time, whereas mid-sized wounds (missing limbs, impalement-wounds, etc.) take roughly 30 seconds to a minute to recover from. Life-threatening wounds (brain pierced, heart removed, etc.) take about two minutes to do. Daedalus cannot regenerate from molecules, and requires at least a cubic foot of flesh to recover from.
Immunities/Resistances- Being a (technically) demon, Daedalus is immune to most forms of heat, poison, and acid, and his mind is blocked off from almost all telepathic intrusions (takes a lot of telepathic force to break in). His resistances include electricity (can withstand up to 100,00 volts), extreme cold (down to -150 degrees), and all forms of magic (minor-level spells don’t affect at all, mid-level have a 50% chance of working, higher-level spells have a 75-90% chance of working). Daedalus has a very high pain tolerance.
Pain-Wrack- By impaling or coiling his tendrils around someone, Daedalus can generate currents of crackling, dark-red energy into said victim. This energy does not cause any significant physical damage, but does target almost every nerve in the body and wrack it with excruciating pain. If the victim is exposed to this energy surge for over a minute, paralysis will ensue due to destruction of nerves. Daedalus can generate this energy indefinitely (as long as his tendrils have a hold of someone).
Detect Magic- Daedalus can detect any and all magic within his range of sight, as well as determine what type of magic it/they are.
Tanar’ri Rage- In combat, Daedalus can get so stressed to the point that he loses control of the armor, and its subconscious takes over for him. During this frenzied state of mind, Daedalus’s pain tolerance shoots up even higher, his strength increases by roughly another half-ton, and he cannot determine between targets. He cannot speak. This state lasts until he manages to calm down (which won’t occur until his targets are gone or he’s restrained).
Personality: Not as outgoing-evil as he used to be, Daedalus has become increasingly quiet and single-minded. He hasn’t lost any of his intelligence (or his temper), however, and continues to think situations through, going with his best options. While his goal is currently striking down Arthreonus, his stay in Hell (and use as Arthreonus’s guinea pig) has made Daedalus think about all the years he’s spent committing evil acts…
History: After Daedalus had escaped the clutches of the Baron of the Night’s control (via a rather unfortunate encounter with Myrr, Xeno, and a demon known as Firebrand), returning to his old, old self, he made a vow to return to Hell one day and destroy Arthreonus upon gathering the strength to do so. He then forcefully ‘acquired’ a decent amount of Deep Magic from Artecaex, and used it in several different ways to reach his current form. Now, his current goal is on six stones known as the Demon Crests…
Equipment/Belongings:
Ashardalon- An organic sword roughly 8 feet in length and resembling, if anything, a lengthened meat-cleaver or butcher knife (think Soul Edge from Soul Caliber or Zangetsu from Bleach made of gray-tan bone, the back-edge bearing a dark-purple ‘hide’ on it. A single green, grapefruit-sized, reptilian eye makes up most of the guard, and several stray ‘teeth’ make up the rest of the guard ornaments. What appears to be a digitigrade set of claws, snapped together to form a sort of spike, makes up the hilt. This weapon has a tendency of draining the blood of a victim every time it causes a wound (usually two cups at a time), and said wounds cannot clot naturally. Ashardalon is intelligent, and communicates via telepathy (host only; out loud it just sounds like an array of hisses). Once a day, Daedalus can use one of three of Ashardalon’s most potent abilities (of which all drain Daedalus significantly), listed below-
- Cursed Strike- As the blade is immersed in a fiery black glow, the next injury the sword causes will be of a… ‘special’ sort. The wound cannot be healed by anything short of extremely powerful magic, and any attempt to close it using another option will cause it to widen/deepen. The wound slowly widens/deepens anyway as it goes without healing; roughly half an inch every several minutes. The wound will continue increasing in size until stopped or until the victim has deceased.
- Hellfire Burst- The blade will pulsate a deep, shimmering dark-red in color, the temperature around it rising. This will build/last for several seconds, and during this time Ashardalon’s cutting potential is doubled. At the end of three seconds, the weapon can be slammed into the ground (or used to slash opponent) and a pillar of dark-red fire will explosively surge upwards (50 feet high, 8 feet diameter) from said attack. The fire itself is hot enough to instantly slag a car, and due to being charged with negative energy (opposite of life-force) bypasses most fire resistances.
- Shadow Coil- By impaling a victim with the weapon, Ashardalon can cause what appear to be ribbons of shadowy darkness to coil around the victim. Upon the sword being taken out of said victim, the coils will churn about the target, turning their coloration to that of a monochrome type. This paralyzes the victim completely, not only halting all physical movement (victim is aware of all that happens while in stasis), but also causes all the victim’s energy to drain slowly (but painfully) for as long as they‘re bound. This effect lasts for up to an hour, but Daedalus can dismiss it at will.
Daemon Armor- The chitinous dark-gray armor that adheres to Daedalus is technically, a living creature in itself, and is the very thing that’s granted Daedalus most of his new abilities. Next to these, the armor itself is roughly as durable as reinforced steel, and withstand roughly 5 tons of pressure before breaking. Not only that, but the armor itself can sense vibrations in the air or ground, allowing him to detect all movement in a 60-foot radius at all times.
