Dawn broke on the new house of Shiryu and Mercurio. Shiryu awoke before Mercurio had even stirred so he left a note to reassure her that he was ok and would return soon. He collected a few of the crystals that she had prepared for healing, having a feeling they would come in handy down in the sewers.
As he headed down into the sewers he felt a strange presence near where he was entering. He sat near the manhole as he ran through a plan of what he would do down there.
Hmm... I should probably investigate that strange pressure since they would have seperated myself and the evil that possessed me. After that if I don't find anything there I will return to the from which I awoke. Maybe I can learn more about what was inside me if I study the enchanment that was placed on the room.

A figure within the tunnel's confnes could hear the channeler's thoughts, and its red optics narrowed.
I assume you're the new guy around here, hmm? The entity's voice hissed into Shiryu's mind.
His emotionless eyes shone through the dark as he continued probing Shiryu's mind, and he continued,
The room you're looking for would be near the end of this tunnel. Soon as you go through that hole, go left for about half a mile. You'll know when you get there.

Shiryu's mind snapped alert to the voice that so easily spoke to him despite his private thoughts.
Well there is definitely something down there. Better check out what it is. Could it really be the entity that possesed me so long ago?
He paused a second before jumping down to the depths he had emerged from only a day ago. For having been here before it felt rather alien to him and kept watching his every stepped as he advanced deeper into the tunnels.
Before too long he finally found the location the mysterious voice had told him of. It was a room near identical to the one from which he had awoken from. Only this room bore a red glow that gave off feelings of hate and loneliness. As he stood observing the room he felt something enter his body.
What is this it feels like the power that corrupted my body ages ago and yet it is different.
His mind was being consumed by a fog of rage that began to release his true form.
I must fight this off so I can find the one responsible for it. For I fear the consequences of what will happen if I don't.
He kept battling the will of the foreign body to communicate with what had called him there. He sat in silence as he writhed in pain from the war he was waging within.

The mysterious entity from before watched from afar using his extensieve telepathy. His mandibles parted in what passed for a smirk as he asked,
Having trouble with something?
His eyes narrowed as he probed the situation, then his 'smirk' deepened.
Well... this is intruiging. I suppose I've a bit of time before he shows up. Might as well watch the show... He thought.

shityu screams with agony as his spirit begins to take over and shift him to his released form.
Not now! If I shift now I could destrot the foundations of several key residential areas includung the area that Mercurio is in. I have to win this struggle, I can't let the beast come out.
A wave of energy powers throughout the tunnels accompanied by a roar as Shiryu pushes to repress the demon inside trying to unleash his spirit. Now half shifted Shiryu remembers that one of the crytstals he took would increase his resistance to any entity trying to control him.
He quickly pulled the crystal out and synced it to his biorythm. The crystal's energy coursed through him allowing him to regain control.He stood up with an authorative posture.
"Reveal yourself demon. I have won this day and now look to conquer you."

Demon? Heh... I'm not sure if that would be the correct term to define me... ah hell, I'll just show you myself... The voice echoed.
A shape suddenly appeared in the entrance of the room, a pair of red eyes thinly lined in white staring back at him. A deep, rasping chuckle echoed across the walls of the room as the entity stated,
"And believe me when I say, rat, that you could never hope to 'conquer' me..."
The entity leaned forward, revealing a face almost chitinous in appearance, the bottom-third of its face split into four seperate jaws. It was Khimera.
The Scourge amalagam merely looked Shiryu up and down, then snorted.
"Bah! You're lucky I have something more important to attend to..." He muttered.
The Scourge then Flash-Stepped out of sight, whereabouts unknown...

With the disappearance of Khimera Shiryu's body and mind felt great relief. He sat there gathering his thoughts.
That thing, Khimera I believe, felt familiar but I don't think it was the original evil that possessed my body a thousand years back.
Standing with a rough grunt he said, "It was very informative however. Seems I've met my first enemy here in this new world."
Having made peace with the curiosity about what might have happened to his old foe, he began the trip back to the surface to tell Mercurio about the things he learned and Hopefully find out a bit more on this Khimera he met from some of the other locals.
I can feel Sol's presence up near the valley I was at earlier. Maybe I should go see if they could use an extra hand up there and maybe find out a little more about Khimera from them.
So Shiryu emerged from the sewers, told Mercurio to hold down the house and took off for the Crystal River.
