Shiryu’s eyes slowly open to see a dark room with a disturbing blue glow. The room held a great calming sensation about it instilling inner peace within the mind.
“M…uh where am I? How did I end up here?”
As he began to rise from the chair he was sitting in an image flashed before his and brought with it immense anger and pain.
“Was that my clan being slaughtered? Better yet was that a memory or my imagination?”
Deep howls of agony sweep over him as the memories come flooding back. One at a time he sees the members of his clan fall at his hands. He tries to fight the urge to kill them at every turn but to no avail as it’s only a memory.
“What happened to me, I would never want to kill my clan members. I must know the truth of what happened to me on that day.”
Suddenly a voice rings out in his head with a commanding tone.
“Shiryu what’s done is done, you cannot change that. You have, however, been preserved as the preserved as the prophecy of your clan foretold. Your new objective in life is to defend the earth as your clan has sworn to do in the past.”
Suddenly Shiryu remembered the prophecy he was once so fascinated with as a child:
He who shall be born under the dragon of darkness is bound to cause a great catastrophe to those he loves wholeheartedly. Though he may be removed from the world he will rise again to become one of its greatest defenders. As he awakens may those who bear the name of evil flee at his name and presence for he is destined to purify the world of the darkness he was born from.
“Of course I’m bound by the word of my clan. I will rid the world of the vile bane that is evil. After that I can search for the truth behind my actions. Now I just need to find a way out of this chamber.”
And so he began to search the chamber for some sort of door and found a way out that led to the sewers. He proceeded on his way to the nearest exit slaying anything that got in his path be it crocodiles or mutant alien all fell to his scythe. Once he surfaced, he found himself in an unfamiliar landscape.
“Such an unfamiliar city, I should find someone to help me learn more about this place. I may know its layout but I do not know the rich history behind it.”
