Elena staggered against the rock wall that divided the higher and lower regions of the springs, grunting. She clutched at her right arm, of which was mangled and bleeding badly.
"damnit, just eat me and get yourself healed!" Void rumbled.
Elena shook her head, replying,
"No... I can-live-with it... 'sides, if they show up again... I need as much.. muscle as possible.."
Void shook his unseen head, seeing as how he was hiding in her shadow. There was an hour left to sunrise, and Void wasn't taking any chances.
"But... what the hell do those things want with me?!" She growled.

"She's gotta be around here..." Kisara mused to herself off handedly, until she saw the wounded fox anthro. "There! Looks like she already had an encounter recently..." she whispered, running up to Elena.
"Hey! Elena!" Kisara called to her when she got close.

Elena flinched and jumped away from Kisara, barking,
"Ack! Who're you?! How do you know my name?!"
Barias stepped out of the trees behind Kisara, and Elena's look of confusion deepened.
"Who are you people?!" She shouted, reaching for a cylinder on her belt line.

"Don't panic, I'm Kisara, Solranous told me your name." Kisara began, then gestured to the Sangheili, "He's Barias. We're just here to warn you that some one called Nexus has a whole platoon of soldiers looking for you... but it seems you've already had a close call with them... Unfortunately we don't know why he wants you so badly..."
Kisara sighed to herself, and continued, "I have no idea how strong those soldiers are, but I doubt this rag-tag little group can handle too many of them-" she paused, looking at Barias, "No offence intended," the Substitute Shinigami said quickly, then returned to her original sentence, "- so we need to get you somewhere safe, somewhere that's preferably a far distance from here... Thankfully, I have just the means to get moving fast, but it'll take a bit of time for her to get here..."
Kisara looked off into the distance and closed her eyes, a soft whistle escaping her lips for a few seconds, before she opened her eyes again.
"There... that speedy false dragon's on her way..." Kisara finished, fist clenching as she felt the seconds slowly tick by, "All we can hope for right now is that they don't find us before she gets here..."

Utilizing a quick empathic sweep to check their stories, Elena nodded, knowing they told the truth. Void's unseen eyes narrowed however, his normal paranoia turning into a strong distrust of these two, who had abruptly shown up while they were being pursused.
"O...kay... well, I can't track these things with telepathy, so we won't know if they're-"
She grunted, taking in a sharp breath from between her clenched teeth.
"-if they're going to show up soon or not... fortunately, I don't think they can track me either..."
She swayed for a moment, then muttered something under her breath. Barias shifted uneasily, eyes sweeping over the treeline constantly, one hand on a plasma rifle, and the other on his energy blade's handle.
"Something doesn't feel right...." He rumbled.
He glanced at Kisara, then asked,
"Oy. 'Shinigami'. Can you tell if anything's in the area?"

Kisara nibbled on her lip.
"Not really, unless they have reiatsu... And I seriously doubt they have any. Even then, its not perfect... I can't really tap into Solranous' telepathy while he's fighting, it would distract him too much." she replied, tense as well.
'Hey!' a familiar voice echoed in the Substitute Shinigami's mind, causing her to grin just as the False Dragon appeared.
"There's Onyste..." Kisara added, running over to the flase dragon and vaulting on to her back.
"Come on! She can handle three passengers!" Kisara said to Barias and Elena. "Don't want to get ambushed now do we?"

Elena shrugged, then swaggered over to Onyste and hopped onto her back, with help from Void, whose sudden appearance and dissapearance may have startled the False Dragon. Barias swept over the area one more time as he backed up to Onyste, grumbling under his breath. Just as he was about to hop onto the dragon, he paused, then roared,
"So much for getting ambushed!!"
He threw a plasma grenade into the trees, of which erupted in a nova of crackling-blue energy, sending shattered, smoking tree limbs and chunks of smoking flesh spattering about. Three creatures suddenly ripped forth from the trees, two of which seemed wounded, but were regenerating, much to Barias's displeasure. One resembled, if anything, a purple-and-orange gargoyle with large, sickle-like claws and prominant underbite; the other resembled Daraku in a loose sense, its metallic plating being a dark-red in color with neon-blue highlights and a three-barreled cannon arm. The third was none other than the Cromian Lord of Fire, Pyraxus, of whom had his arms crossed and stood behind the first two.
"Seems we've found her... you two, seize and desist her. Kill the others if necessary, and be prepared for any tricks!" He barked, tail lashing.
The two nodded, then turned back towards the entourage, snarling. The Daraku-look-alike raised its cannon arm and fired off thick bolts of sickly-green energy, of which Barias was forced to take the brunt of. His shields sparked and sputtered, but stood long enough to keep him from being hit. He snarled, then rushed forward and tackeled the Cromian before unleashing his oddly-shaped beam sword and stabbed his downed opponent several times in the face. Meanwhile, the 'gargoyle' rushed towards Onsyte and her cargo, snarling,
"The girl will be ours! The Master demands it!"

"Your master's demands can go to hell! Now Onyste!" Kisara called out, the false dragon already surging with Mag Energy, before firing at the Cromian, lifting it a good thousand feet off of the ground in a few seconds, before slamming it back down to the ground a few meters away just as fast. Kisara shifted into her spiritual state, drew her Zanpoktou, and launched off of Onyste's back all in one smooth motion. The Substitute Shinigami brought her blade down on the reovering Cromian, cutting into his arm with her first blade, while stabbing through his head with her second. She brought her second sword down through his body, tearing it out at his left hip, while cutting through his arm totally with her first blade, then back handing the Cromian back, grimacing from the impact of flesh and metal.
'Onyste, get those portable generators up, now!' Kisara mentally commanded the false dragon, who nodded in understanding and hunkered down, bracing herself as four medium sized spheres launched from four brown shoulder and hip pieces, extending stakes that burrowed into the ground. The spheres opened up to reveal four square pieces of metal, which further unfolded into plus sign shaped 'solar panels' that flipped outwards and began to glow blue and purple, before a dome of the same colored energy covered Onyste, Elena, and the hidden Void.
Concerning the demon, Onyste had finally gotten it through her head that a lot of weird things were going to happen around her, and to her credit was rather unfazed.
Kisara grinned in victory, certain that the barrier could withstand whatever the Cromians threw at it, considering it covered the generators as well, and that they had all but foiled there attempts to kidnap Elena.

Pyraxus simply gave the now-dead Cromian a blank stare, then glanced at Kisara's body, of which was behind the shield.
"What manner of attack...? Ah well. I'll figure it out later."
He glanced to the side at Barias and his opponent, then abruptly smirked under his metal exterior.
"Change of plans... take that alien hostage, for now."
Barias did a double take, of which distracted his attention from Pyraxus's lackey. Unfortunately for the Sangheili, this caused him to be decked in the face, staggering him before the Daraku look-alike grabbed his arms and pinned him to the ground, growling. Pyraxus nodded, then turned to the others as he rumbled,
"Now... give us the girl..."
The Cromian drone let out a hissing cackle as what looked like a black, fleshy sphere popped out of his chest, causing his captive's eyes to widen.
"Or we make your friend one of us..." Pyraxus finished.
Barias growled, thinking,
Well... this isn't how I expected the day to go... F*CK! If only I could trigger one of my grenades...

'I don't think so...' Kisara thought as she charged at the Cromian that was holding Barias down. Since she couldn't be seen, the Cromian never knew what happened when the arm holding the sphere was severed and kicked away, before he was split in two from the waist up, the arm gripping Barias also being severed.
Kisara grunted, then kicked the Cromian off the Sangheili, then lifted Barias up and over her back after placing one of her blades in its appropriate place across her back, shocked that it seemed so... easy, to lift him up with one arm, before jumping up and over to the barrier, her hand still clutching half of her Zanpoktou glowing with Mag Energy. She aimed her fist at the barrier and fired a beam at it, creating an opening just big enough for her and Barias to slip through, with more then enough time to close it before Pyraxus could take the chance to get in. Kisara slung Barias across Onyste's back and then merged back with her physical body, sighing in relief as she fired four small balls of Mag Energy at the generators, recalling them back into their holders and grinning ay Pyraxus.
"Sorry, Metal Head, your not adding anybody to your ranks today on my watch! Sayanora!" Kisara taunted, then sen t Onyste into motion, making sure the ride was smooth as to not aggrivate Elena's injury. Onyste's thrusters kicked into high gear, sending the false dragon rocketing off into the distance. At the same time, small blue 'poles' extended out from a set of gear on her back ankles, negating the jerking that came from the thrusters activating and sustaining activation.
When she felt they were a decent distance away, Kisara shut off the thrusters, but kept the stabilizers engaged. The Substitute Shinigami relinquished control of their movement to Onyste and swung her leg over the false dragon's head to sit 'bridal style' in the saddle so she could talk directly to her two passengers.
"Barias, I'm sure you noticed, but you owe me one now. Elena, I'm sure I've got a lot of explaining to do considering what happened to those guys back there, don't I?" Kisara said to them.

Pyraxus could be seen in the distance, calmly standing in the same position as the Cromain next to him regenerated. Barias snorted, fuming at the fact someone had just saved his hide. Elena blinked, then was about to respond when Void cut in,
"She's a Shinigami, or, more likely, a Substitue Shinigami. They're technically-dead beings that keep peace between the living and the dead, such as purifying bad spirits and sending good and neutral ones onto Heaven."
The unseen pair of white globes turned on Kisara, sending an unknown shiver up her spine as he replied with an icy grin,
"Am I close, Shinigami?"
Elena simply blinked, nodding dumbly at this confusing truth.

Kisara nervously chuckled and rubbed her hand behind her head.
"Uh, yeah, spot on... I figured you were some kind of supernatural being and could probably see me when I change planes... I haven't exactly died yet, so I'm just a Substitute Shinigami... I get my powers from Solranous, who's also a Substitute Shinigami... Or would he be considered an actual Shinigami... seeing as Armageddon killed him to gain control over him... Though his body and spirit are still tied to one another as much as a living person's is... Ugh, I'm confused..." she held her hand to her head after that, rubbing it to ward off the coming headache.
She then looked out in front of where they were going, sighing to herself.
"I have no idea where we can go... Sol's fighting back at home, so I can't risk bringing either of you there..." Kisara placed a hand to a handle on Onyste's saddle, easing up on it so that the dragon wasn't wearing herself out by running at full speed. Onstye growled happily as she slowed down to about half her top speed.
"If only I had some idea of what's going on... and how long it'll take."

Elena sighed, fists clencing.
"What I'd like to know is why they're after me..." She muttered.
She looked up, then stated,
"I suggest we go somewhere well fortified. They've most likely got units posted everywhere around here, so going somewhere they wouldn't expect is out of the question... but where, in this god-forsaken place would you find someplace with enough defenses to stave off those things?"
Barias, still fuming, muttered,
"There's always Machinima... if the droid'd allow it, anyway..."
Elena swiveled around, giving him a suspicious glance over her shoulder.
"Droid?" She asked.

"I doubt it, none of us are liked by O'Malley. I'm sure he'd probably sell us out to them then hide us... There isn't a whole lot of non-machine people that he likes... if any at all." Kisara responded.
The Substitute Shinigami sighed to herself, slowing Onyste down some more, until the False Dragon was just walking.
"Hey!" some one called out.
"Huh?" Kisara wondering, looking towards the source of the voice, and saw none other then the overly energetic Seela a few meters off. The Rygazelle ran up to them, walking along side Onyste now, who was giving her a minor 'Wtf?' look.
"Uh... who are you?" Kisara asked.
"Name's Seela! Nice ta meet cha!" the Spectrobe replied.
'Who or what the hell gave her a sugar rush?' Kisara wondered at that. She sighed, before replying, "I'm Kisara."
"Looks like your friend got into some trouble, come on, follow me!" Seela called, dashing off, before pausing and turning to look at the group, who had just stopped and weren't following her, "What's wrong? Don't trust innocent little me?"
"Well, after getting attacked and finding her in a pretty bad condition, I'm sure you can understand if I'm a little wary. This of course not even mention how some other people may be extremely wary." Kisara responded, folding her arms.
Seela frowned, hung her head an d sighed. "Alright, alright..." the Rygazelle moaned. She continued to walk away, at much alower pace then before, as if reluctant to leave them like that. She stopped again, and gave them one last look, before sighing again, and making to take off again... and didn't. She didn't move a muscle except to turn around and lay down, just staring at them, waiting for something. Kisara glanced back at Barias and Elena.
"Think we should trust her? Sure, she's unneccesarily hyper, but she's clearly nice... I'm just not sure..." Kisara asked them.

"She's not the most acceptable of company..." Barias muttered.
Elena, however, was making a quick sweep of the Rygazelle's surface thoughts. To hell with privacy, she'd been attacked by biomechanical freaks! She wanted the truth, and by whatever force she could, she'd get it.
"She's not giving off any hostile intent... I say we should trust her." She replied.
I'm going to eat her afterwards... Void muttered to her.
"NO, you're NOT." Elena replied sternly.
Barias blinked at her in confusion, never having seen Void. Elena, however, ignored the Sangheili's curious stare as her face hardened, muttering,
"I'd trust anyone other than that droid b*stard..."
