Chiggar's head slowly, ominously pivoted to look at Barias.
"Thousands more vortexes are on their way... if not millions..." was all she replied with.
Kisara gulped. There were atleast a good three to four hundred in that one vortex alone... and their could be thousands more coming?
Oh lord...
Chiggar's expressioned then hardened into one of hate.
"When this is over, if we survive, I'm gonna kill that Rygazelle nice and slow... She's the only one, besides myself, on this planet that I know of that would bring the Krawl... If the Spectrobes aren't careful, you can't have them without having Krawl, and vice versa..."
Chiggar's eye then twitched.
"Lora... when you and Seela first met... did she display any kind of aura? Blue, perhaps?" the Villakroma asked.

Lora's eyes widened, and she pieced together what Chiggar had said. She bit her lip, glancing to the side. She knew all-too well that the truth would most likely get the Rygazelle killed. Her fists clenched, and her hair abruptly bristled, slowly graying.
"....yeah... sh-she did... but... maybe she didn't know! She seems like a kid to me, a teen at oldest! I'm sure she wouldn't have done it if she knew!"
Barias blinked, then leaned over to Kisara and asked,
"Why... is she sprouting fangs?"
True enough, Lora's teeth were lengthening... and sharpening...

Chiggar visibly loosened.
"A teen at best, you say? That changes everything... Older Spectrobes tend to keep the tales of those horrible things away from younger generations, to prevent mass hysteria... Young ones tend to be rather flighty when scared. And there's nothing scarier to a Spectrobe then a Krawl of the stronger property. That works in reverse too, a Krawl's worst nightmare is a Spectrobe whose property is stronger then the one it displays."
Chiggar sighed to herself.
"It also accounts for how over energetic she is... She's lucky... she never got her childhood robbed from her."
Kisara whispered back to Barias in response, "Promise you won't view her any differently, but she's a werewolf. Seems to me the wolf side's coming out a bit more."

As Lora's wolf-traits began dissapating again, Barias's eyes widened.
"Werewolf? As in lycanthrope? ..."
His hands twitched as the Sangheili's eyes snapped open all the way.
"I seem to recall hearing about these... genetic abberations... hmph. I had assumed they were just genetic weapons, like the human's Spartans or Zoanoids... but if they're around at this time, then I guess not..."
He bit his lip, an odd thing for a Sangheili to do, considering they had several pairs of them.
As for the Krawl... damnit, I wish I still had my ship... the databanks might've had info on these things...
He grumbled, then clenched his fist, asking Chiggar,
"so... how do we prevent them from coming, if at all? If they do come, what do we do about that?"

Chiggar laughed sarcastically.
"Got a spotlight big enough to match the sun's out put? Didn't think so."
She then grumbled to herself, before continuing.
"Under 'normal' circumstances, we would need to band together all the Spectrobes on the planet capable of fighting. This obviously isn't an option, seeing as it's just Seela and I. Spectrobes are the number one way to kill Krawl, most other ways of attack are next to useless...
Barring Spectrobes, focused light is the only major threat to them, but there are plenty of Krawl that are more then strong enough to resist this as well..."
She then looked at Barias, "Their so resistant to damage from most offensive capabilities that I highly doubt that even your advanced race all together would be able to obliterate all of the Krawl before the universe was consumed."
Kisara cut in here, "My blades seemed to go through them pretty easily... I don't think their that resistant."
Chiggar's eyes widened. "Normal swords shouldn't even be able to breach the epidermis, let alone go all the way through, not even a blade of energy is strong enough for its wielder to claim to be able to do that... We might have a snowball's chance in hell after all... If a Krawl vortex appeared here, then they must be seting up a base in this system. Pluto and its moon are the most likely candidates to house a Krawl base, seeing as its the farthest from the sun. We'll have to strike them at their base and completely obliterate it, or the tide will never end, no matter how many we kill. Eventually, they'll overwhelm us with sheer numbers... Just like home..."
Chiggar's head dipped and her shoulders slumped. Yes, just like home...
She lifted her head, "No... I won't let that happen again... I don't care if I'm the last one standing and missing a few organs... I won't stop until the threat's destroyed once and for all!" she declared to herself, looking to the sky. "I won't fail... Not after witnessing the destruction of my own planet... I can't afford to fail..."

Barias growled at this knowledge, muttering,
"Maybe not my race.... but the Covenant wiped out anything in their path..."
His fists clenched, shark-like teeth all bared as he thought back to the days he served with those damned religious fanatics. Billions upon billions of lives lost... for a stupid cause that would've led to the same fate in the end...
"O'Malley's got a ship. We could take that to Pluto. That thing's got a hell of a lot of weapons and armor; you'd stand a good chance in it."
He glanced to the side, muttering,
"The only problem with that plan is to convince the droid to let you use it..."
He looked back at the others, adding,
"Even if you do, you'd still have to deal with the large amount of troops there... and if what Chiggar says is true, you'll need quite a few powerful allies..."

Kisara's eyes narrowed.
"I can think of a few already..." Kisara responded.
Chiggar turned and looked up to the sky. "For now, we'll just hold them off until the demon war is finished... then I'll see if I can't convince him to help us... That's all we can do right now..."
The Villakroma sighed in defeat, trudging away.
Kisara sighed, then turned to Barias, "Didn't you want an explanation for what happened to 'me' when that vortex appeared?" she asked, stressing 'me' as if it wasn't really her. which, in some senses, it wasn't.

Barias blinked, folding his arms across his armored chest.
"You passed out, and several of those things just... died. What the hell'd you do?"
Lora sighed, clutching at one of her arms before she eventually paced off into the trees, her blue eyes shining eerily in the night.

Kisara's eyes trailed upwards into a thoughtful expression.
"Well... since you don't have much, if any, connection to the spirit world, I can understand why you didn't see me after I changed. The reason I passed out was because my spirit wasn't exactly in my body anymore. I'm a Shinigami recently, and being one means I can seperate my spirit from my physical self on a whim... with the right 'equipment.' The reason they died was because I was attacking them while in the Etheral Plane."
Kisara sighed to herself.
"Sometimes, though, I wish I could use my Zanpoktou, which is a weapon used by the Shinigami and one of his or her greatest companions, while in my physical body..."
Her head hung after that statement, "Mostly cause the R&D division in Soul Society is still working on recreating that ability in other Shinigamis."
((Kisara: I don't think Mayuri can really get anywhere in that aspect without getting his hands on Solranous...))

((*dodges flying beaker* I'll put it this way... *dodges thrown Zanpaktou* Sol'd better watch himself- *ducks under Mayuri's ear-scythe*-when the MC is over))
Barias blinked, lifting up his helmet and scratching the gray skin underneath.
"Uhh... okay..." He replied, confusion in his voice.
He shrugged, then glanced from side to side, growling.
"Okay, I know I heard something tha-"
Barias was cut off as something from the trees burst into the air, moonlight glinting off of its black metal exterior. Nexus's red eyes gleamed in the darkness as he growled,
"I KNOW I sensed a rift here somewhere... but where?!"
On instinct, Barias actviated his camoflauge, grabbed Kisara, and hurtled into the trees, below the Cromian and out of his sight as Barias hissed,
"Anything ELSE you'd like to tell me?! I must've missed quite a bit when I was gone..."

"That... would be Nexus... Another evil guy who almost killed one of my friends... I don't know a whole lot about him or his 'Cromians...'" Kisara responded, clenching a fist as she remembered the position that Nexus put Garrett in.
"Unfortuneately, we're not adequeatly equiped to deal with him, o we gotta lay low until he moves on..." she finished, her voice lowering with every word, hoping Nexus didn't hear her.
((Solranous: ... *goes to work making portal that will stay until he dismisses it*))

Barias nodded as Nexus's head swiveled about the area, almost blending in with the night sky if it weren't for his crimson optics. He snarled, then abruptly fired off a streak of black energy from his outstretched claw, blowing apart a good 10-foot radius of trees nearby. Barias's mandibles all parted, and he muttered,
"Th-that... that was dark matter! How the hell can that thing manipulate dark matter?!"
He rumbled as Nexus clenched his outstretched fist, then hid it back in his 'cloak'. He shook his head, then growled,
"If that was a portal... then she may have found a way to escape... damnit!"
He titled his head back and hissed,
"Crysalia! I want you to investigate the area! Find out what caused that portal! If that Cerinian escaped, I'll personally assimilate you and your platoon!"
With that, he distorted for a moment before he was gone. Barias blinked, then muttered,
"...Cerinian? Here?"

"I wouldn't be surprised if that thing's armor is chock full of dark matter." Kisara growled, not really sure what dark matter was, but could form a pretty clear definition from its name.
She then frowned, "Nexus must be talking about Elena... I have to find her and warn her..." she whispered, but knew she would probably have to face off against any of this 'Crysalia's' platoon if she decided to do this...

Barias opened his mouth to ask about who this 'Elena' was, when he abruptly stiffened. Something had emerged from the river, sighing as it did so.
"Aye, Master... I'll find her..."
'She' had a humanoid figure, composed of smooth blue and sky-blue metal. Her head was almost human-shaped, except for the triangular crest stretching forth from the top-back of her head and the crab-like mandibles. Dark-blue tendrils protruded from the back of her head, much like Shive's mane. Her figure was 'feminine' ina loose sense of the word, and her thin legs all ended in three claws; two in front, one in the back. Six larger tendrils adroned her back, three on either side of the spine, of which was adorned by a row of spikes connected by sem-transluscent blue fins. Her oval-shaped, pupil-less green eyes surveyed the surrounding area as she clenched her webbed, digitigrade clawed hands.
"It's... clear..."
Barias bared his teeth, muttering,
"I don't wanna stick around for more of these creeps to show up. What say you we go find this 'Elena' person?"

"Yeah, lets go... hopefully she won't see us thanks to your cloak." Kisara whispered to Barias, not thrilled at all to test the hearing range of this new being. She waited a few seconds, closing her eyes, and then nodding to herself.
"Follow me, Solranous has graciously provided me with her current location." she told Barias as she silently moved out, while trying to stay under cover.
