Shive ran through the trees, branches snapping against his face and causing him to sputter as he did so. He finally skidded to a halt, panting and looking around as he muttered,
"They're around here somewhere..."
He turned in time to bump into Lora, sending the latter sprawling.
"Ow..." She muttered, rising to her feet.
Shive's eyes widened as he glanced at her, then at the glow about himself that only he could see. He helped Lora to her feet, who nodded in thanks.
"Lora, right?" Shive asked.
The lycanthrope's shoulders slumped, and she nodded. Shive's breath caught as he asked,
"Can I ask you something?"
Lora blinked, then slowly nodded.
"Uhm... this may sound odd, but..."
He scratched his head, looking to the side.
"Was there, in any point at time in your life, a dream when you were surrounded by nothing but light?"
Lora's expression went into one of shock, and she dully nodded, replying,
"Yeah... like... a week ago..."
Shive's face went stony, and he stated,
"Then I need your help. I'm what's called a War Mage, someone who fights by combining weapon skill and arcane prowess. We have a selected weapon that can be infused with an elemental power, therefore changing it to affect a situation and making it stronger. However, we only get the main 4 elements free. We require the aid of several people we know, who've been selected by these three elements. You, Lora, are one of those three I need to find. You've been selected to be the Light Soul I require."
Lora blinked, scratching her head.
"Uhh... okay.."
Shive sighed, then placed both hands on Lora's shoulders, staring her deep in the eyes. She went completely still as he asked,
"There are forces from another plane out there, beginning a siege on the city and everyone in it, including your friends. Only a few of us can even hope to stand against what may be coming at us, but we need evetyone's support. This includes you too, Lora."
Unnoticed by either, Ragnarok began to glow with a faint light.
"If you want to help save those who call you a friend, then help me."
With that, he grabbed Ragnarok by the blade, holding the handle out to Lora.
"Grab it."
Lora did so in uncertainty, and as soon as Shive let go, the blade dropped, Lora 'oofing' as the tip hit the ground.
"damn this thing's heavy!" She shouted, trying to hoist it up.
"Now stab me with it."
"WHAT?!" Lora asked, appalled.
"You heard me, stab me with Ragnarok there."
Lora stared at him as if he had just gotten a highly contagious disease, then sighed, shifting into her Gauru form as fur rippled across her body.
"Hope you know what you're doing..." Lora muttered.
With that Ragnarok was heft square into Shive's chest, yet no blood was visible. Shive grunted, eyes closed as a voice called into his mind,
"Servant of Bahamut, bearer of the Four... are you willing to accept our power?"
"...Yes."
"Even at the cost of your mind and body?"
"Yes."
"So be it..."
Shive erupted into a burst of light, temporarily blinding Lora. When the light faded, Ragnarok was in Shive's hand, no wound apparent on his chest.
"Thanks, Lora..."
"Uh... no prob?" She asked, confused.
Shive shrugged, nodded, then took off into the air towards the city.
