Shive sat on a cliff overlooking the city in the short distance, sharpening Ragnarok, of whom was leaning against his knee. He sighed, crushing the wetstone he'd been using in his claw, throwing the dust aside as he stared at himself in the sword's reflection. He scowled upon seeing the scales that had once been brown, now reverted to that same gray shade. He shook his head, then stabbed Ragnarok into the ground next to him, tapping his foot (of which was hanging over the edge) against the night's air.
He leaned back until he was lying on the ground, staring at the stars with a blank expression.
"Who the hell am I kidding... I can't do what he did on a virtually-daily basis..." He muttered.
* * * * * * *
In the distant trees, four violet eyes burned through the darkness with their hideous glow, a nasty grin forming below them. The eyes narrowed, however, upon hearing footsteps.
"Someone's coming..." It muttered, dissapearing back into the trees.

Myrr sighed as she flew above Daralog, Kisara, and Onyste. Her mind was whirling with various negative emotions the closer the neared to the volcano, knowing that was where Solranous supposedly died. She was still mildly sore over it, which she figured was reasonable, after all the dragon was her father.
Kisara glanced up to Myrr, noticing that she was starting to slow down a bit, before the half-dragon realized this herself and pumped her wings to catch up the short distance she lost. the woman sighed as well, shaking her head sadly.

Daralog slowly stepped into the edge of the trees, spotting his son nearby. The ground itself seemed to be rising with his every step, cushioning his footsteps to make their sound non-existant. Then, with a sudden pounce, Daralog bounded over, landing a few feet from Shive, of which the shockwave literally caused Shive to bounce, forcing a shout of surprise. As he landed on his hind, he whipped around onto his feet, Ragnarok in hand. When he saw who it was, the sword was dropped from his shakey hands as he gasped,
"D-Dad?! What the hell're you doing here?! And... why are you so much smaller?"
Daralog scowled at his son, muttering,
"I finally got my Material Trip, and I decided to come here to check up on how my son's doing. Not very well, it seems."
Shive's eyes narrowed back, and he asked,
"What... do you mean by that...?"
Daralog bare dhis teeth and roared,
"Don't play stupid, Shive! You damn-well know why we're here?"
"We?" Shive asked, confused.

"Yeah, Shive, 'we.'" Myrr confirmed, landed next to Daralog as Kisara and Onyste came to a stop on the opposite side.
Myrr sighed as she looked at the dragonkin, "Why do you try to push yourself so hard? Nobody expects you to take Solranous' place now that hee's gone, or hopefully just missing."
Kisara just nodded in agreement.

Shive scowled, looking the three over.
"Who says I'm trying to take his place? I'm not, and I never said I was going to."
He then scowled.
"This isn't for him, nor is it for any of you." He rumbled.
He picked up Ragnarok and rested the massive blade on his shoulder, preparing to walk off. That was, until, a massive hand forged of rock sprang forth from the ground and ensnared the dragonkin, of whom hissed in anger. Daralog scowled, jabbing his face right before his son's.
"I know this more about than goddamn Daedalus, boy! You don't think anyone here can get by without the green wyrm, do you?! Have you ever thought about letting it go?! If he's gone, he's gone, if he's not, he's not! It's not a big f*cking difference either way! You're all capable of handling whatever comes along by yourselves! But you all seem to have forgotten that, haven't you?!" He roared, not quite focusing at Shive alone.
Shive's scowl turned in a solemn scowl as he looked away, muttering,
"I'm well aware of that fact..."

Myrr flinched at the roar, understanding that at least part of it was likely directed at her. Kisara narrowed her eyes at Daralog, wanting to confirm if she was included in the 'all' that the brown wyrm mentioned. She scowled openly, half tempted to mention that, even though she had the Mag Claw ability, she was still human, and very weak compared to more super-natural beings.
The half-dragon spoke up before her, "Daralog, I know you hold a good point, but there are some people out there that we just can't handle. Cresence has already proved himself to be one of those people, and we still don't know what's going on with Devil Kaiser. Enemies after them are likely to just get stronger. How are we suppose to compete with that?"
Kisara sighed to herself, shaking her head, "Myrr, drop it. In a way, he's right. Most of us have let ourselves slack off in becoming stronger, because most of us never forsaw the possibility of Solranous being defeated in battle so thoroughly. I, however, do have some excuse for that, seeing as I'm only human, and can't do much of anything without Onyste. But even I should have been trying..."
Myrr's wings drooped greatly, as the half-dragon hung her head. She had no response for that.

Daralog 'hmphed', knowing he'd gotten through to them. The rock claw released Shive, melting back into the ground below, allowing Shive to drop to his feet. Daralog sighed, stating,
"I know, maybe I should've been a bit more subtle with that, but it's the truth."
He turned to Myrr first, stating,
"Learn to handle the one's you've got now, then keep improving. It's as simple as that."
He turned to Kisara next, scowling.
"You're half-right. You ARE a human, but that DOES NOT give you an excuse. There are THOUSANDS of humans where I come from that can fight toe-to-toe with some of the nastiest critters out there, and frankly, I see more potential in you than most humans."
He leaned toward Kisara, now giving a somewhat-idiotic smirk.
"Hell, with your reiatsu, you could have more to yourself than you know..."
He leaned back, then turned to his son, who was staring off to the side. Daralog sighed, then placed a claw on Shive's shoulder.
"Son... you've got to learn that you just can't do some things alone. You have to rely on some people sometimes... you can't be strong for everyone."
A fang slid out from between Shive's closed lips as his chin began to tremble, still looking to the side. Daralog let out a smile, accompanied by a 'hmph'.
"I see I've gotten through to you as well. Good."
Shive's eyes narrowed, watering over as he bit his lip.
"Tommorow I'll teach you a few more of your old man's tricks. But, for tonight, I'm going to let your three all think about what you've been told..." Daralog stated.
With that, the wyrm nodded to all three, then burrowed into the cliff and out of view. Shive stood there for a few more moments, shoulders shaking somewhat as he clapped his hand over his eyes, baring his teeth as he tried not to sob.
"damnit, old man..." He wheezed.

Kisara blinked in utter shock, not really able to conceive the fact that humans could fesably go up against supernatural beasts at first, and then remembered Vazaad. The mage wasn't entirely human, true, but he was human enough that he was supposedly limited in similar aspects.
And yet, he had demonstrated immense power.
'Except that magic doesn't really have a lot of limits, while mag energy does, and I seriously doubt I've gotten enough reiatsu from Solranous to really make a difference.'
Myrr, meanwhile, was throwing a fit mentally.
'goddamnit! Why does he try to make it sound so fricken easy!? Not all of us are gifted with the sheer level of will power needed to push past our own limits! RAGH!!!!'
She plopped herself down onto the ground and pouted.

Shive finally pulled his hand from his face, looking tired and down again as he sat back down, bringing one knee up as the other leg laid flat on the ground. His expression turned cold and neutral as the nighttime lights of the city reflected in his half-human, half reptillian eyes.
He has no idea of what the hell we're dealing with! He's never had a hard battle in his life! He's a f*cking brown dragon, why would he?! ...no... I can't say that. There was blue dragon, and the Fiendwurm, and...
His eyes narrowed.
And Daedalus...
He sighed, both wings giving a twitch as he muttered,
"How do you expect me to do it?"
His head bowed, shaking it as his eyes closed.

Myrr sighed to herself as she huung her head.
'Besides... Daralog doesn't really get the whole gist of it... That's twice I've found out my father is dead... It hits someone hard when you know your dad's been killed not once, but twice in your lifetime. And then finding out your boyfriend's dead after that... well... it just really does a number on some one's conscious.'
The half dragon curled up, folding her wings around herself so much that she now looked like some kind of coccoon.
Kisara's eyes narrowed. She knew she had reiatsu due to Solranous, but she had never tried to develop it. She looked to Shive, knowing he had experience with the strange 'energy' that wasn't entirely energy, and mentally shook her head. He had experience with it, but because of that accident a while back, he could no longer use it.
'If I'm going to figure out just how to bring this into motion, I need to speak with someone who can use it and knows how to use it.'
"I have to get going..." Kisara said quickly, walking over to Onyste. The false dragon, sensing urgency, picked herself up and let Kisara into the saddle. Looking out over the cliff, Kisara exhaled before having Onyste jump off it, elicting a cry of shock from Myrr, who had opened up her wings to see and hadn't notice the two white objects on Onyste's shoulders, which extended out into suitable 'wings,' and allowing the false dragon and her rider level out quickly into a glide. Kisara sighed, setting her sights on the city. She knew of only one person who came around that was able to use reiatsu, thanks to Solranous informing her. Now she was going to seek that Shinigami out, hoping beyond hope that she could get help on the finer points in manipulating reiatsu to use as a weapon.
The only one she knew, was Sevra, Shive's ex-girlfriend.
Myrr blinked in shock, looking at Shive with a gaze that said, 'Do you have any idea why she did that?' and also showed that she did not expect an answer.

Shive blinked, a dull expression on his face as he rested his chin on his palm, the elbow resting on his knee. He issued a sigh through his nostrils, staring at the city lights, his tail dragging along the ground. He gave Myrr a glance over his shoulder, then sighed, slowly standing up. He didn't walk, so much as staggered, over to the half-dragon, then collapsed onto his knees beside her, throwing his arms around her shoulders and brigning her into an embrace. Shive's eyes were emotionless, but his grip on Myrr defineately showed his frustration and anguish at the moment.
"Something tells me we both need this..." Was all he could muster at the moment.
His eyes closed, and he shuddered for a moment.

The half dragon melted into the embrace, clinging to Shive as she cried. Xeno-Myrr sighed from with in Myrr's mind wondering what she could do to bring the half-dragon's spirits up. But everything she could think of was dismissed, seeing as how the nature of her pain was because those around her were at some point in pain as well.
As it stood now, it seemed Myrr was likely to cry herself to sleep from the mental torment. And yet, some powerful wave seemed to wash over her mind and hers alone. It was familiar, yet it had alien traits about it, enough to mask who was generating this wave. The half-dragon didn't care right now, and allowed it to continue, soothing her and slowly bringing her crying to a stop, leaving only a bit of sniffling behind.

Shive stayed silent for a few more minutes, then slowly released her, standing up. He sighed, staring off into the sky, muttering something silently before turning back to Myrr.
"I'm gonna go home now. You coming?" He asked, holding out a hand to help her up.

"Sure..." Myrr replied, accepting Shive's hand and standing up. It was difficult to tell if there was and sadness coming from her, seeing as the wave managed to calm her, and she spread her wings.
"We've been out here long enough, and even I need to sleep every now and then..."

Shive dully nodded, muttering something about tommorow under his breath. He spread his wings and slowly ascended into the air, looking back at Myrr to see if she was following. As he left the area, he couldn't help but notice a pair of bright red eyes in the trees. He blinked, rubbed his eyes, then checked the spot again to see if they were there. They were, but not for long. He shook his head, muttering,
"I really do need sleep..."
