[Talon]

Garrett strolled through the trees, scowling as he stared at the watch Akira had given him before his death. He continued pacing until he reached one of the cliffs that overlooked the distant city. He shoved both hands in his pockets, his scowl deepening as he stared at the lights.

Why does this sh*t always happen to me? Someone always relies on me, and I'm bound to f*ck it up. Why? I've yet to prove useful in... any field, period.

He sighed, leaning his head back.

Maybe if I just board up all the windows at the house, people'll leave me alone... it'd probably be better that way.

He suddenly clenched his fists, and went to throw the watch in his pocket off of the cliffs in a scream of anger. However, his hand stopped in the middle of the air, and he slowly lowered his arm.

...I can at least try... the man died, and he entrusted this to you... for whatever reason. Don't betray a promise like that. He thought.

[Blaze]

Eko suddenly appeared next to Garrett, seeming almost bord.

"What are you doing out here?"

the dark anthro looked at the watch then back to Garrett.

[Talon]

"SONNUVAB*TCH!!" Garrett exclaimed, jumping away from the anthro that had surprised him.

He abruptly pocketed the watch, then growled,

"I don't see how it's any of your business, whoever you are. Also, don't sneak up on me like that!"

He edged away from Eko, glaring back at the city.

[Blaze]

Eko walked behind and around Garrett, looking over him.

"So what a human like you doing out here alone?"

Eko stopped in front of the boy holding the watch up to his face

"...and why did you refrain from throwing this?"

[Talon]

Garrett bared his teeth and snatched the watch back, stuffing it back in his pocket.

"Seriously, dude, I suggest you leave now before I get pissed off."

Oh please, what am I gonna do? For all I know, he could have some uber-power or something. He thought.

He scowled further, noting Eko was still there.

"I thought I told you to leave. I'll ask nicely: Go. Away."

[Blaze]

"Now thats not ganna happen."

Eko grind as an insane look came across his face.

"Blaze trusted me with some alone time, and I'm not going to screw it up by killing you, so relax. I was just asking a simple question...thats all..."

[Talon]

"You and your question can go to hell. Nuff said." He stated coldly, walking past Eko with his hands jammed in his pockets.

He walked deeper into the woods, still scowling. He abruptly paused as something caught his eye to the right, and he jerked his head in that direction. Nothing was there, but he could've sworn he saw a pair of red eyes...

Must be that jerk. He thought, but knowing well his eyes didn't look like what he saw.

"Stop following me!" He yelled, just in case.

[Blaze]

The forest lit up in a blaze of fire around Garrett leaving nothing standing, and the human unharmed.

"You saw that to?"

Eko walked next to the boy and began scanning their surroundings.

"I don't like spys"

The half dragon growled

[Talon]

Garrett's jaw was hanging open, and he abruptly jabbed a finger at the flaming trees.

"What the HELL?! You think there's someone stalking you, so you light the goddamn forest on fire?! What's wrong with you?!"

His finger fell when the flames abruptly went out, and he scratched his head.

"...huh...?"

He glanced back at Eko, and asked,

"D'you do that?"

[Blaze]

Eko glared into the burnt forest.

"No"

the dark anthro touched Garrett's shoulder causing him to glow temporarily in a light yellow color.

[Talon]

"Whoa-whoa-whoa!" Garrett shouted, swatting Eko's hand off of his shoulder.

"I don't do physical contact, period. Touch me again, I beat you with your severed arm." He snarled.

He won't know if I'm all bark and no bite... He thought.

The sound of twigs snapping came to his attention, and he turned to see Khimera standing under the branch of a nearby tree. Garrett paled, backing up a few steps, thinking,

Oh sh*t...

"Why're you worried? You're no longer a threat to me, ex-Guyver." Khimera hissed.

His gaze turned to Eko, and his mandibles spread wide in a sort of grin.

"Another lizard, eh? Pfft. Too many of you around here." He hissed, tail swaying.

[Blaze]

Eko's insane look came back as he eyes locked on Khimera, intently

"You look like fun."

A grin came across the evil dragon's face and drool ran down his chin, he started walking toward the being, still with an insane look.

[Talon]

Khimera 'hmphed', muttering,

"That's one of the worst crazy faces I've ever seen..."

Before Eko could blink, Khimera's arm-cannon was pressing into his throat, charging with energy already. The Scourge laughed before blasting Eko away with a telekinetic pulse, then fired at the spot where Eko would've landed, launching him into the air. Khimera scowled now, muttering,

"Well this is rather dissapointing..."

He fired a single Head Beam at Eko, intentionally missing, causing it to skim past the anthro's head. Meanwhile, Garrett was glaring at the Scourge, fists clenching as he was forced to watch from the sidelines.

B*stard took the only means I had to fight... the only means I had to do any good... He thought.

I can help you fix that... A voice rang out through his mind.

[Blaze]

From the sky fell two steel plates, one impacting the ground several yards away creating a massive crater,and the other hit Khimera in the chest pinning him to the earth, crushing his ribs.
Eko appeared standing feet away still grinning.

"Now this will be interesting."

The anthro closed his eyes and opening the first Gate of Ren.

"You need to try a little bit harder."

Eko whispered suddenly standing over Khimera, he bent over and lifted him by the windpipe and and thrusted his entire arm into his stomach grabbing all he could. Eko then threw him several feet away, again walking toward Khimera, eating what what he had riped out, the grin still visable.

[Talon]

"Oho? What's this, a speed fighter? Like I haven't seen that before! But at least you're trying now, it seems, so I can't complain. Try to keep up." Khimera hissed, his wounds beginning to regenerate.

With that, a telekinetic surge slammed Eko into the ground, binding his limbs and keeping him from moving as Khimera started burning holes through said limbs using his Head Beam. Eko's right arm was on the verge of being severed before he finally stopped, then kicked Eko in the ribs with enough force to smash him through a tree. The amalagation laughed, shaking his head as he asked,

"So, this technique's called the First Gate of Ren, eh? Doesn't seem to be doing much for you."

Garrett stared at the watch, then thought,

W-was that you?

Yep. Name's Varion. The voice responded.

Garrett's eyes widened upon hearing that name. Varion? That was the name Akira uttered before he died!

What.. what are you? Garrett asked.

Depends on your point of view. To you, I could be a big confidence boost, something to help you make a difference again. It sounds to me like you'd want that right now, right? Varion responded.

Garrett slowly nodded.
