Khimera stood on the edge of Garrett's roof, staring intently at the building across the street. He'd mutter something to himself, laugh, then keep fall silent before repeating the process again. His tail swayed under the moonlight as he head perked up at the arrival of Mortis, who was hopefully followed by Cynder. He scoffed, then went back to staring in that gargoyle stance. Mortis glanced nervously at the pair of red eyes atop the small warehouse, then glanced around for the onyx wyrmling he had been associated with earlier.
Khimera's fists clenched as he glared at Solranous's old place, muttering,
"He said five days... it's been a week already... is he doing this on purpose just to antagonize me?! He IS the first Scourge, after all..."
The cement began cracking under the grip his talons exerted, and his eyes narrowed.
"Still... it's not like him to be late... he himself goes by his word no matter what..."
He let out a long, low hiss, fists shaking.

Cynder landed next to Mortis, looking around, and spying Khimera, though she didn't recognize him. Even without recognizing the Scourge, she still withered internally somewhat. The onyx wyrmling noticeably shivered while the Scourge was nearby, which roused Hollow Cynder out of the nap she spoke of.
"Something about the air around here doesn't seem right..."
"I have little choice but to agree."
"Any theories?"
"Do I look like a philosopher to you? Anyways... not really... only that something big is going on... It seems that things are going to become rather hectic soon. And that's putting it mildly."
Cynder mentally shivered.

Khimera narrowed his eyes, then glanced down the street, sneering at the wyrmlings before spreading his wings and taking off. Mortis exhaled in relief, not wanting to be watched by that... 'thing'. He glanced back to Cynder, then opened the door for her.
"I'll be back... I have something I wanna go check. Make yourself at home in the meantime. Shive's gone for the night, so don't worry about waking him up." He informed her.
He then bolted down the street, a slow scowl forming across his face as he did so.
That creep felt familiar for some reason... I want answers.

"Thanks, Mortis" Cynder replied, watching him run down the street. She figured he could take care of himself if he had to, and walked into the house, settling down on the floor, seeing as thats where the dragons in her dimension usually slept. She sighed, watching the door with weary eyes as she waited for Mortis to come back.

As soon as he got a good distance from either Myrr or Shive's place, he scaled up onto a nearby building's roof and looked to the sky. His eyes narrowed, then took on that all-too-familiar purple sheen once more.
[glow=green,2,300]You contacted me? That's new. What is it you want, wyrmling?[/glow] Dogolas's voice rang out.
That creature I ran into... I think I've met him before. But that's not the point right now. Something happened in the graveyard a few days back, and I want to know WHAT. Morts demanded.
There was a silence, then Dogolas responded with,
[glow=green,2,300]Some demi-god is hoping to gain more power by doing... something in the Material Plane. I myself am not sure what, but it seems he's built a decent-sized army for whatever goal he has in mind. Most likely, I'm sure it will involve attacking your friends. It always does there.[/glow]
Mortis's eyes widened.
What kind of army?
[glow=green,2,300]Demons. Lots of demons.[/glow]
Mortis let out a silent gasp, then he clenched his teeth.
Figures. Just when Sol's dead, we have some assh*le coming in and throwing his weight around.
[glow=green,2,300]I may have need of your services soon because of this... occurence. I'm getting pisse doff at the fact there's constantly evil deities that are striving for power, and this will allow me to knock them all down a peg. Insolent beings don't know what they're doing half the time...[/glow]
Mortis was shocked at hearing this, then solemnly nodded.
I'm surprised to hear that from you.
[glow=green,2,300]I'm fine with where I am currently. Oh, and by the way, if I hear you complaining about me and how I ruined your life one more time, I'm going to eat you. Period.[/glow]
Mortis paled, then exhaled as the link was severed for now. He really didn't want to talk to that Great Old One, but it was the only means he had of knowing what may happen soon. Sighing, he paced back down the street towards his place before slowly pushing through the doorway again, flopping down in a corner near Cynder, but enough to give himself the space he needed at the moment. His good mood had most obviously been killed.

Cynder would have said something to Mortis when he came in, but seeing his face, she decided to keep quiet. The oynx wyrmling finally noticed Blaze, having not heard him previously until Hollow Cynder reminded her of the anthro speaking to her. Casting a worried glance at Mortis she waked over to Blaze.
"The whole group's been a bit under the weather after a certain event..." She replied to him, sighing.

"...Hey now.. don't be so down, everything will be just fine, you'll see."
Blaze tried to reassure her but only made himself feel sad, the dragon anthro walked by and fell to the floor looking up.
"I don't think we've been introduced."
Blaze looked over to Mortis and extended his hand out in greeting, smiling trying to keep the mood up.

Tendrils started to wriggle their way free from his jawline as he calmly asked,
"Why... are you in my house, when I don't even know you?"
The air got abruptly cold within the building as Mortis kept staring at Blaze blankly, his tail swaying as he waited for an answer. One would hope it came soon... his shoulder-spikes were beginning to break free.

"Uhg, damnit Eko."
Blaze looked at Mortis and rolled his eyes, he turned and left the house and took off into the air.

Mortis narrowed his eyes, shrugging. He glanced at Cynder, then stared at the ground as his extra features began melting back into his form. He turned his back on the onyx wyrmling and laid back down, emitting a silent sigh. He stared solemnly at the wall, blinking only every so often, tail swaying on the floor. His claws began to dig into the matress beneath him, but slowly and lightly. His yellow eyes seemed to glow in the dark, and he thought,
You know... maybe... the Old One isn't so bad...
His claws abruptly tore chunks of the mattress out, and he stormed out of the doorway.
"Don't follow me." Was all he stated before the door slammed shut behind him.

Cynder just blinked in confusion, as the events that transpired left her incapable of doing much else.
"Uh... Ok then..." Cynder muttered, then shrugged and went to sleep.
