Shive and Mortis walked out of the trees, the former in swim attire. Both calmly paced over to the nearest spring, and abruptly fell forward, face-first. Both rose simultaneously, and spat out a small trickle of water before sighing in relief. They glanced at eachother, grinned, then Shive righted himself, leaning against the side as Mortis rolled onto his stomach, freely floating about. Shive laned back and stared into the sky, partially shrouded by the constant thin steam this place gave off.
Might as well get in some relaxation while we still can... what with what's been going lately... and what will most likely be happening soon... He thought solemnly.
He sighed, closing his eyes.
I feel bad for Myrr most of all... losing someone like a parent is hard... and the current events haven't improved that... He added, shaking his head.
Mortis spat out several icicles, contemplating the current situation as well, though not as deeply.
Demon brother's back, eh? Eh. He'll get his ass kicked most likely. He thought.
He sighed, then rolled his eyes upwards as well.
...I wonder what Cynder's been up to lately... He thought.

As if brought there by the thought, Cynder landed at the Hot Springs, having left the Mothman after it went to sleep and doing various things to keep herself amused while she was here...
But she didn't know what had transpired at the volcano, and even her Hollow side was ignorant to the passing.
"Hey there..." Cynder began, cheerful...
Until she noticed Shive's expression.
"Did... Did I miss something while I was out of touch with the rest of you?" the black wyrmling asked, her fface displaying that she thought she probably didn't want to know...

Shive sighed, glancing at her from the corner of his eye, then ran his clawed hand through his mane.
"Yeah... you've missed quite a bit. Most of it you probably don't want to hear..."
Despite the statement, he was quiet for a moment, then relayed everything that had happened in the past week or so to the onyx wyrmling. Solranous's downfall, Daedalus's return, and the strange occurance at the Graveyard. He added in Elena and Void, in the hopes to at least lessen the impact of the other information, though he knew it'd be futile.
"That's pretty much it... other than losing another fighter... though I doubt you know him..." He stated.
Mortis's eyes were downcast, staring into the water.

To Cynder, the Elena and Void information went in one ear and straight out the other, she was that stunned by the previous information.
'Solranous... is dead?' the wyrmling thought, disbelievingly...
"Oh... damn... We've gotta watch ourselves... If someone can take out Solranous, then we're kinda screwed... considering he was up there as one of the strongest beings around..." Hollow Cynder returned.
"... I can't believe that... I know you wouldn't lie to me... but I still can't believe it... That he's gone... Everything feels like its going down hill..." The wyrmling spoke, shaking her head.

"I couldn't believe it either when I was first informed... but as impossible as it may sound, it's true." He sighed, shaking his head as well.
He glanced up at the sky, muttering,
"But we all need to try to keep ours heads up, stick together in times like this. Bahamut knows this is doing wonders for my inferiority complex..."
He paused, glancing at Mortis. The wyrmling was unusually still, staring off to the east. Shive's eyes narrowed when he noticed a slight purple glow to his eyes.
"Mortis? Mo~ortis? Oy!" Shive barked, nudging the wyrmling.
"I'M TALKING TO SOMEONE, damnIT! BUTT OUT!" The wyrmling abruplty roared.
Shive leaned away fromMortis, muttering,
"Okay, fine, I was just-"
He paused, blinking.
"Wait... talking to someone? Who're you talking to?" He asked.
Mortis scowled in his direction, growling as the purple gleam became a bit more apparent.
"It's none of your concern..."
With that, Mortis snaked out of the water and headed to the opposite side of the springs, diving into another pool. Shive grumbled something, then sighed.
"Ah, he never listens to me... Cynder, would you please talk to him?" Shive asked, a bit of pleading in his voice.

The black wyrmling sighed, and followed Mortis without another word. Looking out to him, she dived into the hot spring as well, and swam to the blue wyrmling's side.
"Mortis... Is something going on that your not telling anybody?" Cynder asked him. "If there is... could you at least talk to me about it? Or have you gone back to hiding what's hurting you?"

[glow=green,2,300]Not now, he's busy.[/glow] The familiar voice of Dogolas replied within Cynder's mind.
The wyrmling seemed to be muttering to himself for a few moments, then sighed, nodding. Shaking his head, he looked up to see Cynder floating next to him. With a surprised yelp, he 'jumped' from one point in the water to another, asking,
"Ack! Whaddaya want?!"

Cynder frowned as she looked at Mortis.
"It's him isn't it? He's starting to control you... Isn't he?" Cynder said, ignoring the azure wyrmling's own question.
"You werent really listening to Shive a minute ago, so he asked me to talk with you... We all care for you... We all need to stay close together..."

Mortis sighed, causing the top of the water to temporarily frost over.
"No, actually, he's not... he said he'd leave me alone except for few questions every once-in-a-while, and so far he's been truthful about that. He was just asking me about some 'Omega'..."
He then scowled, about to snap at Cynder for butting into his business, then stopped himself, shaking his head.
"And what has sticking together done for any of us so far? Wanting to help someone got Solranous KILLED!" He muttered, expression turning hard.

Cynder arched an eyebrow.
"I can't exactly say... but none of us have a chance if that thing that took Solranous out one-on-one caught any of us alone and vulnerable... We can't run the risk of that happening... at least in a group we have the number advantage..." she replied.
"But... how are we honestly suppose to know?"
"As much as I'd like to agree with you about 'saftey in numbers,' I doubt a few extra targets would make a difference considering this is f'ning Solranous we're talking about who got his tails kicked... That guy was an epitome of strong... and now that he's gone... It'd probably take the Hell and Heaven attack to kill this new guy..." Hollow Cynder added in the wyrmlings mind.
"... I know..." was all Cynder said to the Hollow in response.

Mortis let out a bark of a laugh, replying harshly,
"What honestly makes you think he'd come after us? Maybe Solranous is the only one he wanted to kill!"
His eyes narrowed as he continued,
"Besides... I can't fight worth crap. I have to go ballistic for that, and you've seen what happens when I do... what difference to expect any of us to make?"

Cynder's eyes narrowed, and she scowled with anger, before swatting Mortis with her paw, a pit of reddening where she hit.
"Are you a f***ing IDIOT!? This guy specifically targetted one of the strongest defenders around! He WILL come after the others, us included! What kind of bad guy would target some one as strong as Solranous and just leave everybody else alone? What makes you think that we're not all in danger because of this thing?" she screeched. Mortis was starting to wear her nerves thin...
"I know not all of us can fight... But we all care for each other, right? You aren't giving up... right?" the black wyrmling finished, a tear threatening to spill from her eyes..

He mentally gritted his teeth, staring at the water.
"You have a point about that..."
He looked back up, seeing Cynder's teary eyes. He sighed, head bowing.
"...I was never really doing anything in the first place, so why would I give up? I guess... I'll just have to start contributing..." He muttered.
He looked up, and the tip of his tail brushed the tear from her eye.
"Please don't cry. I hate seeing others as depressed as I am." He stated with a small smirk.

Cynder managed a small smile of her own.
"Ha Ha very funny... You're not all that good with humor, you know?" Cynder replied. "At least nothing worng is going on with any of us still here... We've got to make the best of our lives while we can..."
(OOC: Bleh... was at a loss of what to say...)

"That's true..." He muttered, head lowering back into the water.
The man in black attire he met at the lake came to mind for some reason, and he began wondering who he really was. While lost in his thoughts, he had accidentally drifted next to Cynder, of which he didn't notice until he bumped into her. He grunted in surprise, reddened a bit, then paddled away from her, muttering an apology. His thoughts drifted once more, but to current matters... and the surrounding people.
Every single time... He thought, glancing at Cynder.
