Five figures all stood in a circle a few miles from the obsidian city, growing impatient.
"What the hell does that undead f*ck-nut want now?!" The first asked.
From the waist down, this creature was nothing but a thick, muscular tail. Above the waist, it had a near-humanoid torso covered in dark-gray, overlapping chitin, with dark-green flesh barely visible underneath. A triangular crest emerged from each shoulder and jutted out about 5 feet. The arms both ended in three claws, arranged around the palm in a triangular fashion, and on each elbow, a long organic blade stretched out. It's face resembled that of an iguana's skull, with 'teeth', which were just the jagged sides of the mouth. Stretching forth from the back were two large black, skeletal wings, nothing but a few strands of burnt flesh attached here and there.
"Calm yourself, Molydeus. I'm sure Orcus has something good planned." The second stated.
She would've looked like an extremely beautiful human female with a voluptuous shape and shoulder-length black hair, if it weren't for the fact her skin was copper, the two short horns on her forehead, her fang-like teeth, and the small tail.
"He said something about... Arthreonus." The third stated.
This demon had a body at once sinuous like a snake and powerful like that of an ape's. Two baleful hyena heads leered forth from atop his lumbering shoulders, attached to which were two long, writhing tentacles. His lower torso was saurian, and bore a forked tail.
"Arthreonus? I thought he was dead." The fourth stated.
This appeared to be a Shinigami, but his robes were inverted colorwise. He had a tall, powerful yet lithe build, short brown hair, and a green-handled Zanpoktou at his waist.
"He IS dead, Aizen. But you know Orcus; he holds a grudge for a long time." The fifth stated.
The fifth and final was purely horrific. It had an immense, glistening bulk of a body, the lower, shapeless half domainated by a writhing storm of hook-suckered tentacles. Its two longest tentacles terminated in immense five-fingered talons. Its head was that of some deep-sea fish's, twisted with cruelty and leering with a primordeal intelligence, its stilleto-like teeth large and translucent. Its body was not quite sea serpent, not quite mollusk, and not yet shark, but somehow, a horrible combination of all three.
They all nodded simultaneously as a portal opened in the center of the circle. Out of it steped a massive bloated demon, his monstrous frame a hideous combination of muscle and bloated flesh. His head was that of a ram with a maw filled wit tusks, and his thick-furred legs ended in cloven hooves. Leathery wings and a barb-tipped tail completed the picture of the archetypal demon. He grinned as he threw Daedalus's corpse (which now, was seemingly intact), as he stated,
"You gonna help me pull Arthreonus outta there?"
"Oh... so that's his host? He died." The 'Shinigami' stated.
Shive stood net to the newest demon, trying not to shake in his armor, for he knew who these were. They were the overseers of the entire plane, each assigned to a specific layer. These... were the Demon Lords, entities with powers said to rival those of a deity's.
The chitinous one jabbed a claw at Shive and asked,
Who's this? A new soul damned for eternity?! That's my department, you assh*le!"
The ram-demon shrugged.
"Not sure what to do with him yet. He summoned me about Arthreonus, so I came after he killed the host." He replied.
He turned back to the corpse, which was shuddering. Orcus's eyes widened as he yelled,
"Wha-what the?"
YOU SHOULD'VE KNOWN I HAD FULLY RECOVERED, ORCUS. Arthreonus's voice boomed out from daedalus's cadaver.
The corpse then exploded in a burst of violet flames to reveal what appeared to be a large, solid shadow with massive bat-wings and curving horns on either side of his head. Two red eyes stared out from the head as the shadow surged into Orcus, who screamed in agony as black streaks coursed out from the point of the shadow's impact.
And now that I'm exposed to my home plane, I can assume a new host and regain my body... Arthreonus stated.
Orcus wailed once more before he exploded in a burst of black flames, which died away to reveal a new form.
A large, almost human-shape with four large, bat-like wings and pitch-black hide, adorned in turns by extremely spiky, black full-plate. The demon had an almost rectangular head adorned by a large, slightly forward-curving horn on either temple. It had fangs emerging from its closed maw, and blood-red eyes shone from the darkness of its skin. It bore a massive, wicked-looking scythe in its other hand.
"Good to have you back, Arthreonus. Orcus was getting annoying." The fish-being stated.
Arthreonus nodded, then turned to Shive, who was now shaking.
"You, mortal, have freed me from your wretched brother's filthy tomb-of-a-body. I shall repay you for that."
He aimed a palm at Shive, and he collapsed. Aizen smirked.
"You severed his Soul Link and Soul Sleep. Why?"
Arthreonus smirked and replied,
"I hate Shinigami. Now, what to do with the runt..."
"I believe I can help." A familiar deathyl voice stated.
They turned to see an all-too familiar skeletal form, clutching an ebony staff.
"The Patriarch." The fish-demon muttered.
"It means so much to me that you know my name, Dagon. 'Tis an honor."
Arthreonus narrowed his eyes.
"Why do you want this mortal?"
"Because he means something to a group of mortals back on the Living Plane that defy me. I'd like to break them, and in turn, take this worthless sack of crap off your hands."
The Demon Lords all muttered and whispered, then Arthreonus turned back to the lich.
"He's all yours."
The six lords then vanished, back to their respective layers. The Patriarch stared at Shive's body, then began laughing as the lich and ex-Shinigami dissapated as well...
