As Solranous arrived on the edge of the crater, Kizoku started... laughing.
He should be here soon... He thought to himself.
On the other side of the crater, something appeared. It looked to be a short human wearing...
Shinigami robes?!
Close. The robes were inverted; the robe was white, with black edges. A Japanese symbol was on the left chest, and the robe was split slightly at the chest, revealing the basic Shinigami robes. It glanced around, then suddenly appeared before Solranous. It appeared to be an 11-year old child with wild-looking, yet clean, gray hair and green eyes. On his back was a katana longer than Kizoku himself!
The kid looked up at Solranous, and his eyes widened.
"Whoa. I assume you're the one who sent that message to Soul Society? That means..."
I'm the one who sent it; I'm his Zanpoktou. Kizoku told the kid.
The kid seemed to have an air of bored arrogance about him, but he shrugged.
"Okay, so... you sent the message. We're short on average Shinigami at the moment, so they sent me. That... and there was an abnromal amount of reiatsu in the area." The child responded.
"What do you want?" He asked again, getting testy.
Vell, he needs to learn how to use the Flash Step. Could you do zat for us, Captain? Kizoku responded.
The kid blinked, then shrugged. Kizoku told him something else, but kept it from Solranous. The kid's eyes widened, and he did a double-take at the emerald dragon.
"There's no way he has that much reiatsu!" He exclaimed.
See for yourselv. Kizoku responded, smirking mentally.
The kid turned to Solranous, and narrowed his eyes. They flared back open in surprise, and the child shrugged.
"Well... I supose so... alright. The more Shinigami, the better. Even if they are substitutes..." He muttered.
He unsheathed his blade and stated,
"You can call me Captain Hitsugaya, or Hitsugaya. THAT'S IT. Now let's get started, shall we?"
He unsheathed his blade and rushed Solranous.
"Don't hold back!" Hitsugaya yelled.

In the blink of an eye, Solranous had drawn and ignited Kizoku's blade, parrying Hitsugaya's charge.
"If you say so, Captain Hitsugaya," Solranous replied, shoving back with enough force to disrupt his balance. As the child was off balance, Solranous rushed him as he had done before, aiming a strike at his left shoulder. Hitsugaya was able to parry this, but Solranous had planned it, because the way he parried the blow put his blade under Kizoku. Sliding to the Captain's side, which aimed the sharp side of Solranous' zanpoktou down instead of up, allowed the dragon to force both swords to the ground.
"You told me not to hold back, so..." Solranous' maw started to fill with reiatsu-like blue flames, which showed through partially opened fangs, "Spirit Rocket!" The dragon fired the attack, curious to see if Flash Step could be used to avoid fast projectiles at point-blank.

Hitsugaya stood behin Solranous as the Spirit Rockets hit the ground. The captain smirked, then brought the blade up and jumped backwards.
"So, it looks like you have a Shikai as well. I suppose you could reach Bankai then..."
He held the blade to the side as massive amounts of blue-white reiatsu flared around him, bogging Solranous down with its sheer force.
"Soten ni zase, Hyorinmaru." He stated.
The katana changed only slighty as a chain about 4 feet long was suddenly attached to the hilt, a crescent-shaped blade at the other end of the blade. Speaking of which, now one could see the blade clearly. The guard was shaped like a four-pointed star, and the handle was a sky-blue. Hitsugaya aimed the blade at Solranous, then appeared behind the dragon, a flurry of blood gushing from Solranous's shoulder.
"Yeah, looks like you need this technique." He muttered.
He threw the blade-tipped chain at Solranous, hoping to catch him off-guard.

The weapon froze in mid air, as if it struck an invisible wall.
"Movement faster then even my honed telepathic senses can predict? My, my, this Flash Step technique is really every expectation I had about it." Solranous commented, looking back at the captain.
"Shounetsujigoku Shousen Asahi." the dragon spoke calmly, altering his zanpoktou to his Shikai state. As a extra, he also allowed his reiatsu to flow out completely, coming dangerously close to Hitsugaya's level. They were so close, Solranous was having a hard time telling if his own was weaker or if the captain's was weaker. No matter, the battle was still going on.
The dragon thrusted his fist into the ground, causing the same shock wave that paralysed Evihs to eminate from his body. Hitsugaya found himself stunned by the 'attack,' unable to move, though Solranous suspected this would have a shorter duration. Without wasting anytime, Solranous charged, bringing Kizoku up through the captain's waist. No blood flew out, considering the blade cauterized the wound.
A second later, a second slash appeared on Hitsugaya's back, now that Solranous' own reiatsu restored his speed.
"Heh, I figured that shock wave would work on you, considering it stopped a Vasto Lorde in his tracks, if only for a short while," Solranous noted as he delivered a kick to the captain's injured back before forming a telekinetic barrier.

Hitsugaya smirked, then Solranous felt a sharp pain in his left leg. The dragon looked down to see it had been entrapped by Hitsugaya's hilt-chain! However, it wasn't that simple...
The leg was slowly encased in a thick sheet of ice.
Hitsugaya whipped around and brought the blade scraping across Solranous's front, but strangely... no blood shot out. The dragon noticed the blood itself had been frozen as soon as the blade cam in contact with it.
"Hyorinmaru is the strongest ice-based Zanpoktou in all of Soul Society." Hitsugaya commented.
He ripped the chain out, which seemed to pass through the ice still on Solranous's leg. The Shinigami Captain bounded into the air as a spiral of ice formed around him, the sky getting dark with storm clouds. The spiral thickened and grew, until finally, it began to take the form of an Oriental Dragon.
"It's a pain to get him worked up sometimes, but after the first shot, he's good to go." He continued.
The blade was then swung at Solranous, sending the ice-dragon roaring towards the emerald dragon. Before the dragon could react, Hitsugaya was beside Solranous, wrapping his chain around the emerald dragon's sword arm, now also encased in ice. Hitsugaya bounded backwards as the ice dragon impacted...

The mist cleared, and Solranous appeared to be completely encased in ice...
But a second, transparent Solranous appeared next to the frozen one, inspecting the body.
"Geez, talk about putting someone on ice, This particular body would be dead by now under normal circumstances." Hitsugaya was hearing Solranous' voice in his head as the transparent version of the dragon turned towards him.
"But then again, these aren't normal circumstances." The transparent version dissappeared, and the ice cracked rapidly as it started to bulge away. Finally, it shattered, releasing Solranous.
"And you can't underestimate a telekinetic." the dragon finished, turning to look at the captain. If he was surprised, he was hiding it well, and Solranous didn't want to go into his mind more then needed to talk.
The end of Kizoku's chain slid down to Solranous' hand as he threw the actual sword up.
"Vampyric Flames!" Solranous called, draining some of Hitsugaya's reiatsu with his zanpoktou. Pulling back, he then used his second ability.
"Vampire Flame Blast!" The reiatsu-charged fire lanced at Hitsugaya, blasting the Shinigami back. Solranous narrowed his eyes, scanning for Hitsugaya's presence. He could sense it, and it seemed the captain was somewhat dazed by the attack, though he got over it fast.
"Hehe, this is one of the best fights I've had ever, the only other time it got this intense for training was when I dueled my friend for the both of us to learn our Zanpoktous' names." Solranous commented. The dragon teleported infront of Hitsugaya while he was rising, kicking him into the air. The dragon jumped up after him and roundhouse kicked him through a tree, followed quickly by four Spirit Rockets.

Hitsugaya shook his head woozily, then swatted the Spirit Rockets away from him with Hyorinmaru. He Flash-Stepped behind Solranous and the chain was wrapped around the dragon's neck, ice slowly encasing it.
"I'm not afraid to be relativly cheap in a fight." He stated, grinning.
He kicked off of Solranous and fired off another ice dragon, the 'charge-sequence' completely ignored now. The dragon slammed into Solranous, freezing him against the rock wall.
"The Flash-Step is a relativly easy Bakudou to perform. One merely focuses their reiatsu and pictures the place where they want to be, then wills themself there. The more reiatsu one has, the farther one can go. Captain-class Shinigami such as myself can travel across the planet just by thinking with this technique."
Hitsugaya paused, and the grip on his sword loosened slightly. He looked shocked for a second, then sighed, closing his eyes.
"Your Zanpoktou tells me why you want to learn this technique."
His eyes opened, and they were glowing blue-white.
"He says you wish to save someone you deeply care for, but he tells me something else."
Hitsugaya raised the blade above his head, the point going straight into the air.
"He tells me he wants you to reach your Bankai before sundown."
The capatin's reiatsu flared massivly, breaking the ice that held Solranous.
"He wants me to help you do that. And you're already close."
He aimed the blade at Solranous, and scowled, yet his eyes hid a smile.
"I think the best way to reach a Bankai is for one to experience it first..."
Hitsugaya rushed forward and swept the blade down sideways.

Solranous, instead of parrying, decided to tryout the Flash Step. Picturing the branches of a tree nearby them, he focused. The dragon had a strong will, and that allowed him to perform the Flash Step, appearing in the trees and avoiding Hitsugaya's attack completely.
"You speak as if you have already unlocked your Bankai, though I wouldn't put it past someone as strong as you." Solranous said, thinking deeply. His mind wandered to Kisara for a few minutes. Armageddon could be doing any number of things to her, all of which not pleasent at all... But now he had the means to get there fast enough...
He just didn't have the strength to defeat Armageddon single-handedly. A Bankai appeared to be the only way he would get said strength fast enough. The dragon sighed, looking down to Hitsugaya before jumping down from the branches. He wielded Kizoku in a defensive state and said, "I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Now, whatever you have in mind, I will see when you execute it."

Hitsugaya nodded. He jumped in the air, seeming to stand on it, as he called,
"DAIGUREN HYORINMARU!"
The reiatsu within him flared out and enveloped him in a burst of cold reiatsu. The light died down, and the entire area suddenly got colder. Solranous looked back up at Hitsugaya, and may have been shocked at what he saw...
Ice had wrapped around Hitsugaya, forming into two large wings and a tail. The ice also formed into a dragon's head around his sword hand, encasing it up to the hilt; which was in the shape of an eight-pointed star now. His right arm was covered fully until the wrist where it then spanned into claws, leaving his hand and fingers free. Hitsugaya's feet were encased in ice in a similar manner to his right hand. Three floating 'flowers' of ice, shaped similarly to the lotus shaped guard of his zanpakuto, were also created behind Hitsugaya with four petals each.
"This is the shape of a Bankai, the highest possible release of a Shinigami's Zanpoktou. It's very rare for a Shinigami to possess a Bankai stage; only the most gifted are allowed to reach this pinnacle of spiritual power." Hitsugaya stated.
He leveled the blade at Solranous and smirked.
"The only hope you have of beating me is if you unlock your Bankai."
He Flas-Stepped forward and shoved the blade into Solranous's gut, sending icy energy into the dragon and freezing a few of his organs. Hitsugaya bounced back into the air and aimed the blade at Solranous, then fired three ice dragons, all of which impacted around Solranous, trapping him in a dome of ice three-feet thick.

(OOC: Solranous gets a little sentimental while he's thinking about his friends and enemy.)
'damn... This ice won't melt from my flames... Being reiatsu-based ice, it didn't follow the normal limitations of ice, not to mention part of his internal body was frozen, that was never good.

Hitsugaya was right, the only way he could break free was to unlock his own Bankai...

Kisara... God, he realized he loved that woman... He'd fallen head over heels for her and only noticed that he did now... He couldn't fail here... Couldn't falter now...

Shive... That psycho loved his daughter of another timeline, and the two of them hit it off so easily... He wanted to see their relationship through...
...
Myrr... Sure, she could be a hassle at times, but she was still his daughter, and she loved Shive just as much as the dragonkin loved her. A match made in heaven practically. She desevered her chance...
...
Armageddon... With him around, Myrr will never get that chance... He would do almost anything to get his way with the world... Solranous realized it wasn't revenge he was really after, now he couldn't care less about it...
He was trying to make the world a better place by giving it less enemies to worry about... And to make sure everybody lived as happily as possible...

A thought not entirely his own hit him, and it was one that made him smile.
Moetatsu Shimensoka inai Gouka... The Bankai...
He hadn't noticed it, but at least twenty minues had passed, and Hitsugaya was apparently starting to get worried... At least, until he heard the call from with in the dome.
"Moetatsu Shimensoka inai Gouka!" Solranous roared with all his might, his eyes being completely enveloped in the glow from his reiatsu. The dome suddenly combusted into a blaze, melting into nothing. Solranous stood there, unaffected for now...
And in a surprising display, the dragon's arms erupted like a wildfire of reiatsu. This was soon followed by his legs and wings. His horns came next, 'succumbing' to the spirit energy. Half of all three of his tails met the same transformation, while Kizoku's blade increased in size to that of a broadsword, and part of it chipped off to Solranous' other hand, forming a interchangable shield. Finally neon blue tiger stripes appeared along his head, down his back, and on his tails up to the point the turn into fire, with the back of his hands being marked with the same neon blue , pinpointing where his hand bones were. Every part of his body that was on fire had a brilliant white core, and no, those cores wern't bones.
"One, I didn't scare you at all, right? Two, I say we turn up the heat." Solranous said calmly, holding up his shield.
(OOC: WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO I love picturing this form of Solranous! ...Now I've got to add Bankai to Kizoku.)

Hitsugaya smirked, shouldering his weapon.
"That's one of the most impressive Bankai I've ever seen. Congratulations." He stated.
He aimed the blade at Solranous, and asked,
"If it's not to much to ask... do you think you could join my squad when you come to Soul Society?"
He dropped out of the sky, the ice receding away as he placed Hyorinmaru on his back, the ice forming a sheath.
"As for now... I'd hate to keep you waiting. I believe you have someone you need to rescue."
Hitsugaya then vanished completely. At almost the same time, Shive landed nearby, then gave Solranous a double-take.
"Whoah... cool." Was all he could say.

"Shive, perfect timing. If you haven't guessed yet, this is Kizoku's Bankai state. I'll need your help, because I'm planning to strike the Aparoid menace at its heart." For emphasis, Solranous jabbed his sword in the direction of the beginnin-to-rise-moon.
"Will you come to help me?"

Shive was about to respond, when he felt something on his jawline.
"Oh hell no." He muttered.
He started to rip off the mask, which shattered easily. The mask started to reform again, and just as Shive went to rip it off, a voice yelled,
"STOP!"
Shive paused, seeing Hitsugaya run up. He stared at the kid open-mouthed, which was responded with a punch to the gut.
"Oof! What'd I do?" Shive asked.
"Have you defeated a certain inner darkness lately?" Hitsugaya asked shortly.
Shive's eyes widened, and Hitsugaya smirked.
"I see. Don't break that mask off. Wait for it to fully form; you'll need it."
The captain turned to Solranous and nodded, stating,
"When your doofus friend is done helping you, take him to Soul Society with you. I have someone he needs to meet."
The captain bounded off into the trees, leaving Shive stupified. He unsheathed Hakaisha and stared at his reflection.
The mask... does it give me some new ability? Is this what Evihs was talking about?
He shrugged, sheathing Hakaisha.
"I'll figure it out later."
He turned to Solranous, clenching his fists.
"HELL YES, I'm coming with you! Kisara's one of my friends, and I don't leave friends behind!"

"Very well." Solranous nodded. His shield shrank until it was as small as the palm of the hand that held it, and the dragon put said hand on Shive's shoulder.
"Now, lets go save our friend." Solranous spoke, and the two of them dissappeared with Solranous' new Flash Step technique.
(I guess '[End Thread]' would be good to put here now)
