A lone teenager was standing in the trees, his eyes wandering from side to side. He kept hearing them talk to him, saying if he moved, he'd die. He was nervous, yet at the same time, smirking. His breath came out in short puffs of visible air, and he shivered every few seconds. His arms were up in a defensive position, fists clenched. He saw something move in the trees, and his heart skipped a beat. A long, shrill hiss echoed through the area.
He knew there was only two or three in the area, but this time the teen thought he had bitten off a bit more than he could chew, apparent by the fact his arm was limp and the snow below him was stained red. The first Xenolith slowly crawled out from the trees, only its outline was visible as it raised its tail-blade menacingly at the teen.
"And now, we tear you apart and eat you. Hooray!" It hissed in a masculine voice.
The teen gulped, scowling. He was pretty much screwed over at this point, and he knew it...

BOOM!
The resounding shot was accompanied by the splattering of the Xenolithe's upper torso. The remaining two snapped their heads up, looking for their assailant...
It was too late.
BOOM!
...
BOOM! Two more carcasses collasped, various parts gruesomely removed.
"Aye mate, don't you know these forests are bristling with danger at night?" a certain Villakroma asked as she trudged into view, her cannon smoking. she aimed her head up as not to make the teen think she was going to shoot him next.
"Let's do introductions when we're far away from these corpses, the fumes will become poisonous, or so I've heard."

The teen was staring at her, mouth wide open. He had seen some freaky things around the city, but this was certianly new to him.
Dude... that beetle... is talking to me... and it has a cannon sticking out of its forehead..... FREAKING AWESOME! He thought, grinning.
He glanced at the corpses and edged away from them, nodding.
"Eh, okay. Thanks for the save, by the way. Much appreciated." He stated, nodding to the Villakroma.
When he thought they were far enough from them, he bowed slightly and stated,
"Name's Garrett. And yours might be...?"

"Chiggar. And you are most different from other humans who've seen me, they usually run away on sight." She laid down, then glanced at Garrett.
"You have serious thrill issues, you know that? Not many people with decent common sense would even think of taking on one of those freaks, let alone three at once. I'm sure you know you would have been dead faster then a fly being hit with a fly swatter if I hadn't done something, right?"
(OOC: Fun Fact: I was actually thinking of letting Kisara get some action, but Solranous would kill me if she got nicked by those things.)

((Garrett: I was gonna kill 'em! ...sooner or later... >.>))
Garrett blinked, then glanced at the ground, nudging it with his foot.
"Well, this is the first time I've fought one of those things... eheh... I was kinda surprised by 'em. I was originally up here to find something like, say a grizzly bear, but then those things ambushed me..." He muttered.
He glanced up, and smirked.
"I guess you could say that, yeah. But you have NO idea how different from other humans I am. Besides, I've seen freakier stuff around here than you. Like last month, there were a LOT of these robot-bug things crawling around, killing people and infesting them... it was disgusting..." He stated.

His face was suddenly only a few inches from one of Chiggar's multi-faceted eyes.
"How in the six Hells did you manage to escape with your life after seeing those Aparoids? I was nearly killed in that invasion, and you got out of there without a scratch? Perhaps you have some common sense. Turned tail and ran when you saw that many, right?" Chiggar backed away, thinking she already knew the answer to he was going to give.

Garrett sweated a bit, before replying,
"Well, I was downtown at the time... I did do some running, but not much. I just made good use of my 'resources'. But those punks still beat me up pretty badly..."
He glanced from side to side, then scratched his back, around the shoulder-blade areas. Something throbbed under the shirt. He twitched, then shook it off, slapping his back where whatever it was throbbed. He paused, glancing back at Chigger, wide-eyed.
"Uh... you didn't see that." He stated, glancing from side to side nervously.

And was again surprised by Garrett's words, but temporarily ignoring that, her eyes 'narrowed' at him as best as they could.
"I am not going to be played for a fool. What are you hiding? Can't surprise me with whatever it is, that's for sure. So... Out with it. My friends and I are all going to find out sometime."

He sighed, then stopped abruptly, looking up.
"Your friends? Who're... oh, never mind." He muttered.
He closed his eyes, and backed up a few steps. He threw his arms out to the side and screamed,
"TRANSFORM!"
A ball of light formed around him as he floated in mid-air for a few moments. Directly behind him, what appeared to be a suit of dusky red, organic armor appeared. It 'opened up' snapping itself around him according to anatomy. The light dissapated, and Garrett was now sheathed completely in the armor. A blade protruded from each elbow, and a small metal hemisphere was positioned on his forehead and the center of his waistline. A horn-like protrusion was attached directly above the hemisphere on his forehead, and two 'spouts' on either side of where his mouth would be let out a burst of pressurized air.
"No matter how many times I do that, it's still cool." He stated, his voice sounding slightly mechanized now.
He grinned embaressedly (sp?) under the helmet and rubbed the back of his head.
"Uh, well... this is me, I suppose. Has been for about a year or so..." He stated.

'There's clearly more to him then meets the eye, I'll give him that.' the Villakroma thought.
"A type of Bio-Armor? Or is this something else? Biological armor is the closest thing I can acquaint it to with something I'm familiar with." Chiggar asked, casting a curious glance in Garrett's direction.
"I used something similar when I was a lot... younger..."
'And was helpless to stop them.'

Garrett shrugged.
"Yes and no. From what I've gathered over the past year or so, this isn't just a suit of armor. This little metal thing on my forehead? Well, it's... it's communicated with me a few times before. It didn't actually say any words, but it put pictures in my head. That's how I learned to use this things weapon systems." He stated.
And the fact it's alive still creeps me out... He thought, shuddering slightly.
He glanced back at Chigger, then leaned forward and asked,
"Did it look like a landmine when it wasn't activated? That's what mine looked like when I found it."
He blanched under his armor, and muttered,
"And the period shortly after is something I'd prefer not to recall..."

"No, it didn't. I didn't even really 'find' it like you did... it was already apart of me from my 'rebirth' from being petrified in stone, so it was technically another 'half' of me, instead of a 'living object' that bound itself to me. It was kept in an incubator, so it would grow enough that I would evolve to my adult stage of life, which was rather quick. I wasn't always this giant beetle. No, believe or not, I was about... this tall at best when I woke up."
Chiggar lifted a leg up from the ground to show how tall she was back then...
It only came up about four inches.
"But enough about that, you are not the only one who has had a... rough life."

Garrett slouched forward and his shoulders sagged, mouth wide open when he saw her previous height.
"Well, I guess even alien insects go through stages... but I suppose some have much more... 'varying' forms." He commented.
He clenched his fists, and replied to her previous statement,
"Well, I highly doubt my life's been very rough compared to yours... hell, mine was pretty much average until last year... when I found this thing..."
He stared at his hands as he continued in a lower tone,
"And then all of these supernatural beasties started showing up around town too... especially that damned lizard-bug thing..."
His fists clenched even tighter as the medal on his forehead 'pulsed' with a red light as he muttered,
"damn thing killed two of my best friends and one of my parents..."
He glanced back up and caught himself, calming down and standing back up fully.
"Er... sorry 'bout that. I have a bit of an anger problem..." He apologized.

"I'm the one with anger issues, 'cause if someone gets me mad, I tend to make their heads fly from their bodies. I doubt that's anything you would do...
Wait... Lizard-bug thing? Um... did it stand about fourty feet tall and have horns the spread twenty feet from horn tip to horn tip?"
The question was purely curious, because if it was who she was thinking it was, she could tell the lad that the fiend was gone for good.
Whether that would be a good or bad thing, she wasn't sure...

He was about to respond to the first statement when he heard the second question, and paused, confused.
"Uh... no. This thing was smaller. About... nine or ten feet tall, had red-orange carapace covering it... could open its shoulders and blow crap up... had long-ass claws..." He stated, scratching his head.
"...you haven't seen anything with that description lately, have you?" He asked.
He shook his head, and replied to her first question with,
"And no, usually I don't rip people's head's off. I just open my chest-plates, and well... heh."
