((EPIC CAMPAIGN))
The draconic shape landed with the mindless undead Shive close behind. Dark clouds were already spiraling over the city, converging on Artecaex's position. The dragon glanced at his claw, and muttered,
"Too fleshy. We'll fix that."
He let out an evil grin as black energy coursed around his frame, then enveloped him completely. It swirled about him for a few seconds before bursting away from his frame, revealing his transformation...
He still resembled Artecaex exactly, but with a few minor and drastic changes. His flesh was rotting away in various places distributed randomly across his body, and most of his red scales had faded to various shades of gray. He wore semi-transparent, black armor over his chest/upper back, forearms, and shins, and his eyes were completely black with a pupil similar to the Patriarch’s. He wore the same black tattered cloak around his shoulders that the lich wore.
The dracolich turned around and grinned as a familiar female werewolf landed a few feet away, holding what appeared to be a black, metal rod about 5 feet in length. Her fur was still light-gray streaked with black, and her eyes were far-off and distant. The Patriarch laughed as he took the rod from her, then pulled out...
A three-inch wide sphere of black metal.
He also pulled out a 4-foot wide ring of black metal, claws positioned around it like the corners of a square, each facing up. He then snapped the ring around the sphere, which attached to the sphere instantly, giving off a dull red light. He took the metal rod and attached the sphere to the top of it, then the entire item gave off an unholy red light, which burst away before black energy crackled around both wielder and item.
"Yes! The Dusk Rod is reassembled once more! Now to finish what I started so many centuries ago!" The dracolich screamed madly.
The clouds darkened to a shade of red so dark it was almost black as the Patriarch held the item aloft and began to chant aloud in a deep, spidery language. The central point of the cloud's spiralig began to crackle with black energy, and something horrible happened. A massive black circle formed in the center of the spiral, then thousands of unleash otherworldy entities began pouring into the city. They were demons.
"And so, once the portal has been opened, the realm of the Living and the Plane of Evil will begin to co-mingle and become one... it's just a matter of time..." The Patriarch stated, his ams aloft in the air.
"THIS WORLD BELONGS TO THE PATRIARCH! NEXT, THE UNIVERSE!" He roared maniacally.
Lora and Shive merely stood next to eachother behind their master, silently watching. Then again, it was all they could do...

As the Patriarch finished his roar, he blind-sided by a beam of neon blue reiatsu. Caught off guard, all the dracolich could do was take the hit at full power. Serpents made of reiatsu wrapped around Shive and Lora, pinning them to the ground so that the Patriarch couldn't force them to fight. Even Shive's great strength failed to make the serpents budge. The detached from their source and stayed wrapped around the two, keeping them down.
And that's when Patriarch's assailent revealed himself, the emerald dragon Solranous, still in Bankai form.
"damn you, Patriarch... You've gone too far this time, and this time, I'll kill you!" Solranous roared, flying up were most of the demons couldn't reach him. More Star Burst Flares flew at the dracolich, damaging him again. The dragon waited, ready to defend if Patriarch managed to survive that, which he assumed the dracolich did.

A bolt of red-and-black energy suddenly pierced Solranous's shoulder, rotting away the exposed flesh. The Patriarch merely stood there, chuckling. He looked perfectly unharmed.
"Lycanthrope! Show Darkdrium your newest ability."
Lora suddenly snapped to, then began to eat the serpents around her, then devoured Shive's. The two stood up, yet still did nothing.
"Leave the wyrmling to me. Death Knight! Go find your sweetheart and rough her up a bit..."
The dracolich smirked, then finished,
"Mentally and physically."
Lycanthrope! You do the same! Find your precious construct and rip him apart."
Both Shive and Lora then bounded away, leaving the Patriarch to Solranous. The dracolich smirked, then stated,
"It's too late for that. No one can stop me at this point. And even if you do kill me, you'd just be slaying Artecaex, who had outlived his usefullness anyway."
He then rushed forward and slammed his fist into Solranous's gut before sending a discharge of necromantic energy into the dragon, laughing as he grabbed Solranous by the throat and hurled him to the ground. The dracolich then fired off a swarm of ice-bolts into the crater, exploding into bursts of cryogenic mist upon impact.
"YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A FAILED EXPERIMENT! ARMAGEDDON SHOULD'VE DONE AWAY WITH YOU WHEN HE HAD THE CHANCE!" He boomed.
He aimed his palm into the air, and a massive, 1000-foot dome of black energy formed around the Patriarch's location.
"To keep anyone, whether demon or one of your friends, from interfering. And to keep you from running away; even your Flash Step won't help you now." He stated.
He held his hand out to the side as the Lance of the Fell appeared in his claw, then aimed it at Solranous.
"Now, to dispose of an abomination unto the arcane arts..." He muttered.
He charged forward and ran Solranous through with the weapon.
* * * * *
The Death Knight formerly known as Shive wandered the streets, smashing the skull of any passing demon as he searched for his target.
* * * * *
Four figures landed near the portal in the sky, each muttering,
"Aw sh*t." At exactly the same time.
The four figures then bulged outwards, taking on their true forms: Those of a Zoanoid. X, Ocrimus, Gaigan, and... Reizus. The four then began to rush around, taking out as many interplanar travelers as possible.

Yet no blood spilled from Solranous body where the wound was inflicted. He disappeared, and the Patriarch quickly realized that, despite his extremely durable scales, his arms and wings had been removed from his body, and through a piece of rotting flesh, Solranous' tail blade had darted through and struck the gem that held the Patriarch's soul. The crack in it was almost to small to be noticed, but it was there, and with it weakened, Solranous had a chance.
The dragon's eyes, which had closed, opened again, defiant fires burning brightly.
"Who said anything about running away? If anybody should be running by the end of this fight, it will be you. I will not fail, I will not fall, and most importantly, I will not die." Solranous growled, and his flames brightened with the surge of reiatsu they were getting.
He was truely a different dragon after his spar against Zaraki, his flaming reiatsu now protected him from colder climates, and his scales also hardened as a result, the natural armor even more effective. The Patriarch's attacks were ignored this time, instead of being devastatingly painful and res
Solranous, save for the 'turning-on-his-master' part, was no failure...
He was in fact a success, as the dragon was growing stronger as his enemies became stronger. This single trait, unknown to even himself, was what made him a nigh perfect weapon.
"I'll show you just what kind of power I possess, this is my will to protect my friends, my will to live." Solranous continued, yanking his tail blade out and Flash Stepping one hundred feet from the dracolich. Solranous roared as his reiatsu flared even higher, now at the point that would have been considered his limit when he first met the Patriarch...
Before he fought Captain Kenpachi. He was stronger than that now, stronger then he every was before.
He even had a little something... extra should the battle really heat up, something he got from Kizoku before he started training, something he'd been saving up all this time.
No matter how one looked at it, Solranous had the element of surprise, as his mind's defenses had been fortified by both the emerald dragon and Kizoku, so the Patriarch could not use Artecaex's telepathy to find out about these changes.
Solranous roared a defiant challenge at the Patriarch, then Flash Stepped. He appeared behind the Patriarch, and the crimson dracolich had hundreds of gashes appear on what was left of his body, makin it all the easier to get at the gem, Solranous' true target. He wasn't an idiot, he notice then energy's source, and then put two and two together. He knew the gem was the Patriarch's weakness, and that if he destroied it, the Patriarch would have no choice but to move on, and pwobably be sent to Hell for his evil deeds...
Apart from that, the true battle had now begun...
A battle to protect, or dominate, the Earth.
A battle between two beasts thought to have been only of legend: One living, one undead.
Will the mighty emerald's light be extinguished for the last time, allowing darkness to prevail?
Or will evil be smitten again, and cast back from whence it came?
Only time will tell.
(OOC: Yes, I had to put that in.)

((Indeed.))
The Patriarch snarled as black energy seeped from the wounds, repairing his damage quickly. He smirked as he whipped around and blasted Solranous back with a blast of spiraling red energy before following suit with a hail of ghostly-white energy spears, 'grounding' Solranous temporarily.
"And where are your so-called 'friends', hmm? As we speak, a few of my minions are already looking for them. They will kill your friends. And when I've broken the will to protect your friends..."
Black energy crackled around his form, almost matching Solranous's reiatsu in size as the dracolich's smirk deepened.
"I'll break your will to live."
He rushed forward and slammed his fist into Solranous's jaw, then barely managed to stab his tail-blades through Solranous's throat. He placed a palm on the emerald dragon's chest and began pumping tons of negative energy into Solranous, which slowly caused his reiatsu to diminish and damaged his insides horribly. Laughing, the dracolich threw Solranous off with a telekinetic shove, then brought the building Solranous had impacted into crashing down with his telekinesis.
"I will show you what a superior weapon is... Artecaex was bred to be what he was, only to eventually become my body. He was specifically designed as such." He stated witha derranged grin.
He called down a hail or lightning bolts down on Solranous before kicking the dragon away.
* * * * *
Shive's corpse still wandered the streets. He could tell he was getting closer to the one called Myrr, but where she was exactly was unknown. Shive's spirit hoped she wouldn't be found. He hoped she'd be miles away by now, and not have to suffer at the hands of his manipulated corpse.
But knowing his luck...
((PSSST! That's her cue!))

Myrr sat glumly on a telephone post, here tail curling around it and in between the power lines, never touching a single wire. She looked around, and noticed that one person she could do without right now...
But yet there he was. No matter how he looked, she could always pick him out...
Something happened the Patriarch couldn't hope to predict...
She didn't become joyous, and fly down to Shive, saying how much she was worried about him, only to be struck by the Death Knight...
...
No... She went on the offensive first.
The half dragon uncurled her tail from the post and stiffened, before lunging down at the Death Knight. Before he could prepare to ambush her in plain sight, he found himself on his chest after bicycle kick hit him in the back of his head. Myrr growled, stomping on his shoulder, before taking another part of his arm in her hands.
"I hope you can still feel this, jerk." Myrr seethed, before the arm was wrenched off. Silently, it happend to the other arm as well, then she yanked him back to his feet by the 'collar' and was spun around to face her.
"Was it worth it? Was it worth selling your soul in the long run? Of course not, but you never were one to think ahead, that was always Solranous who thought ahead. I'll bet something like this didn't even cross that peanut shell you call a brain. Now, I'm going to turn tail and leave. Don't follow me..."
She paused, growling angrily again.
"Because as far as I'm concerned now, we never met all that time ago."
Myrr shoved him on his tail, turned around and walked away, activating her cloak as to not be followed.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Unknowing of the 'incident' between Myrr and Shive, Solranous rose again, growling.
"You say this was to come to pass regardless of what Artecaex did? You truly are sick, more so than Armageddon," the dragon noted, his wounds healing rather quickly, despite any impact the negative energy may have had on it...
"You say you'll break my will? Maybe you can, maybe you can't. The real question is: Can you break my will before I break that gem? And I doubt the answer will be in your favor."
Solranous Flash Stepped, and coated his hand with the fires that composed the shield. His claws, sharpened by the heat, cut through Patriarch's scales and clenched over the gem, applying pressure and causing a few more cracks before he retreated.

((OUCH...))
That statement stung Shive worse than when he saw Myrr die at the hands of Armageddon.
"I wish I could still feel it." He muttered.
He glanced up, and his fist clenched.
"If you can still hear me, I'd like to say something before you go. Whether you listen to it or not is your choice, though." He stated, voice breaking slightly.
His pin-point eyes closed, and his armored form shuddered.
"No, selling my soul wasn't worth it. It never would have been. My anger clouded my mind so badly that I couldn't think straight. I threw everything I had away, just to end a stupid grudge... like the goddamn F*CKTARD I AM!" He screamed into the sky.
"I lost it all because of my goddamn stubborness! Everything! My life, my friends, my love, ALL OF IT! No amount of punishment can forgive this horrid mistake! I don't even deserve undeath! If there was anything worse than non-existance, I wouldn't even deserve that! I'm the worst idiot this cosmos has ever seen!" He continued, clawing at his helmet.
He slammed his fists on the ground, cracking the cement.
"My anger destroyed my train of thought for years! I knew it'd be my undoing! Evihs and Thanatos were right, I f*ck everything up for everyone around me!"
His voice lowered, his wings and tail drooped as the black flames around them flickered for a moment.
"But I at least want you to know one thing: No matter how badly I betrayed you, one thing still stands: I... I love you, Myrr. I still do, even if you don't return it. No amount of apologizing or sorrow could rectify this... ATROCITY, but... I'm truely sorry for everything I've done. Especially to you." He muttered.
He slowly rose to his feet as he finished,
"I too wish you had never met me, Myrr. Not for my sake, but for yours. You would've been better off not meeting me, EVER."
His voice diminished as his arms reformed and a claw went to the sword on his back, though his motions seemed restrained.
"If you're still in the area, I suggest you get the hell out of here. The Patriarch wants me to kill you." He stated.
* * * * *
The Patriarch blinked in horror and surprise.
WHAT?! They're breaking my control?! IMPOSSIBLE! I'll have to tone it up a notch or two... He thought, gritting his teeth.
He paused, then smirked.
On second thought, it seems the brown one won't be much of a problem anymore. She broke him for me. He added.
He blinked back into reality, and noticed what Solranous had done. He growled as his negative energy filled his chest wound, repairing it.
"You say that now..." He muttered.
He broke into a sick grin.
"But if I've broken your friend's will so easily, who's to say I can't do the same to you?" He asked.
The Patriarch let out a long, low hiss as he barreled forward, then slammed his knee into Solranous's face before back-flipping and firing a powerful blast of cryogenic energy square into Solranous's face. He flew backwards near the center of the dome, laughing.
"By the way, next time you see your daughter... tell her 'thank you' for me, please. She helped cement my minion's eternal position." He stated.

The ground suddenly cracked as Myrr's cloak disengaged, and she turned back to him, tears in her eyes.
"damnIT SHIVE, FIGHT HIM! ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO LET THAT BAG OF BONES PUSH YOU AROUND!? THAT'S WORSE THEN LETTING THE FRICKING HOLLOW PUSH YOU AROUND, AND YOU THREW HIM OUT A WHILE BACK! STOP. BEING. SO. WEAK. You're sounding like I did back when 'you-know-what' happened, and that's exactly what's happening right now!" She roared, which slowly died into just a shout. She knew that temperment, because it was hers a few months back. She had no excuse for giving up so easily back then, and he had no excuse now.
She came over to him, pulling the sword away from his back and tossing it to the side, before she hugged him around the neck.
"I know you're an idiot, but that's pretty much the idiot I loved. Now, why in the hell are you giving up so easily? I swear, I'll never let you live it down if Dad bails your tail out again. Fight him, fight him no matter what the odds are." She finished sobbing.
-------------------------------------------
Solranous shrugged it off with some heat to the and wiped away the trail of blood that came from it.
"An old human phrase happens to go: 'It ain't over until the fat lady sings.' And if Myrr really is what she's made herself to be, she'll shoot the fat lady before the singing starts if that's what it takes. And trust me, no matter what you say, it's not over yet for him. She'll do anything to help him, and I'm sure he'd do the same in a heartbeat..."
Solranous paused, mulling the phrase over for a few seconds and the condition of the dragonkin.
"... Ok, bad comparison, but the point still stands. Sometimes I wonder if us draconic folk intentionally let our mouths run like this."
Solranous held his hand out towards the Patriarch's chest and started to clench. The dracolich realized he was now trying to crush the gem from afar, and was having rather fast, but small success...

((AUGH! Bad pun! Bad pun! XP *swats Solranous with newspaper*))
Shive's pin-points were nigh nonexistant, suggesting they were wide open. He couldn't move his limbs whatsoever, but then again, neither could his controller...
"I... I don't know why..." He muttered in a low voice.
He finally made a movement, and that was his right claw coming up to his helmet. He slowly wrapped his fingers around the top of it, then ripped it completely off, ignoring the latches. He threw the helmet to the side as it seemed to evaporate into a puff of necromantic mist. His face hadn't changed since he last took the helmet off; it was still halfway decayed and his scales dulled.
He slowly pushed Myrr away until she was at arm's length, his head hanging slightly. He finally let go of her shoulders and backed up, the sword reappearing in his right hand. He held it out to the side and turned around, then took of into the air without a word. However, something had been left at Myrr's feet: A small, brown scale. The death knight spoke no word as he elevated into the air, then spotted the large black dome the Patriarch and Solranous were in. His wings spread, and he began to rush towards it at furious speeds...
* * * * *
The Patriarch roared as he began to counter Solranous's telekinetic grip on his Phylactery with Artecaex's own telekinesis. He growled as he fired another bolt of negative energy square into Solranous's abdomen, hoping to deterr his focus.
damnit! THEY'VE BROKEN FREE OF MY CONTROL?! The brown one I can understand, but... the lycanthrope is beyond me... she had no will to live... He thought, gritting his teeth.
He focused back on Solranous and rushed the dragon with a blast of electrified wind, followed up by a few waves of concussive, clear energy.
"I'LL BE damnED IF I'LL LET PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND YOUR WEAK FRIENDS OVERTHROW ME!!!" He roared, shaking the ground itself.

Suddenly a blast strikes Patriarch in the back. He's engulfed in a fire ball and he falls to the ground. Out of the shadows, Kasou Tirano steps out. He had the same emotionless face on, the one he always had on.
"Oh no...you aren't messing with no one's mind anymore." He growls with rage. Suddenly, Kaosu's face narrows and a face of rage and anger forms. He pulls out his Grausamkeit, which is glowing with black energy.
"You...haven't seen true destruction"
Kasou suddenly appears behind Patriarch and slices off both of the skeleton's arms. Patriarch collapses to the ground and Kasou fires a gigantic Cero from his palm.
"Don't give up now!! [glow=red,2,300]I'm just getting started!![/glow] " Kasou roars as his sanity begins to finally slip away. His teeth no longer were human like. They had become the fangs of a demon.

The Patriarch snarled as his arms reformed, which then grabbed Kaosu by the face and slammed him into the ground. He kicked the Arrancar away, screaming,
"How'd you get through the shield?!"
He blanched, eyes widening rapidly. The shield was... gone completely.
"H-how?" He muttered.
He paused, slowly looking into the air as a shadow covered him. Death Knight Shive had his blade whipped out to the side, black energy seeping out of it as a red light seeped out of his mouth, eyes burning with anger. The Patriarch growled, then blasted Shive with a bolt of pure, searing light before making tendrils of rock sprout out around Kaosu and begin striking him repeatedly. He teleported behind Solranous and fired a bolt of lightning into the dragon's back, kicking the emerald wyrm forward.
"It doesn't matter how many of you there are... I'll kill all of you."

((Solranous: *chucks anvil at Talon, hitting him in the head* Shut up, I had nothing better at the time.))
The dragon grunted, only moderatly fazed by the lightning bolt.
"I hate the fact lightning bolts can burn so badly, especially one three times as powerful as a normal one." Solranous mused.
He rose to his feet, roaring again at the Patriarch. He Flash Stepped again, and appeared at the opposite side of the dracolich, and flesh fell from his chest, allowing the glimmering gem within to be seen by Kaosu and Shive.
"Go for the Phylactery! Destroy that, and he's finished! Every other part of him is worthless to attack!" He informed them before turning around and stabbing the gem with his sword, making a large crack appear in it where the sword hit. Solranous wrenched the blade back out, then froze the Patriarch with his telekinesis, hoping to keep him from moving so Shive and Kaosu had an easier time aiming.
And, just to humor the Patriarch, Solranous decided to throw a witty retort to his declaration.
"One is only as weak as his will, and you know that I have not a weak will, or I would have become afraid of you with your first display of power. But no, I became stronger...
Strong enough to resist, and even better, kill you. I know your weakness, and I have a will strong enough to allow me to exploit it. Like Armageddon before you, You. Will. Fall."

((*rubs head, then glances at anvil* ...... *gnaws on anvil*))
Shive whiped the sword to the side, then leveled it with the Patriarch's chest, eyes burning in rage. The Patriarch hissed in rage as he struggled against the telekinesis, but he seemed... incapable of doing so.
WHAT?! I should be able to break this with hardly any struggle!
That's because it's being used against you as well. A familiar draconic voice replied.
The Patriarch's eyes widened, and he screamed,
"YOU UNGRATEFUL TRAITOR!"
I wouldn't be worried about me right now... your Death Knight looks a bit pissed. Artecaex replied, with a smirk in his voice.
The Patriarch blanched as a cracking sound was heard, and he glanced down to see the Shard of the Abyss shoved through his Phylactery, a white glow emanating from the cracks. Shive's undead face was shoved right next to the dracolichs as his expression was contorted into something that would make a Demon Lord blanch.
"I-DO-NOT-LIKE-BEING-USED! ESPECIALLY-WHEN-I'M-ALREADY-DEAD!" He hissed.
"No... NO! Wait... HA! You're going down with me, dragonkin!" The Patriarch laughed in reply.
The sword was merely shoved in deeper, making the Patriarch grunt in surprise.
"Think I care? I don't deserve to be here. And neither do you..." He replied.
The Patriarch's Phylactery finally shattered, the shards disintergrating into black vapor as the dracolich howled in anger, fear, and agony. A voice then spoke into Solranous's mind,
I guess you didn't hold back on your promise. Hmph. Thank you. See ya on the other side, Shinigami.
Artecaex and the Patriarch began to disintergrate rapidly, the dracolich letting out a silent scream of fury as he faded into nothingness. Soon after, Shive's body began to do the same thing, but from the feet up. He sighed as the sword dissapated, and he turned towards Solranous and Kaosu.
"Well guys, it's been fun. If there's anything you want to say to me, I suggest you say it now." He stated.

Solranous closed his eyes.
"A last 'wise crack' as a certain some one used to call it back where she came from, you know who I'm talking about. 'To live life to its fullest, for better or for worse, is to make yourself immortal in the memories of your friends, even in death and beyond.'"
The dragon wiped away a tear that came, as he continued,
"I knew you'd go down in the heat of battle, though I personally expected it to come with maniac screeching. Goes to show you even a telepath can be wrong. I hope you end up with Daralog, cause I don't care what you say about it, you deserve it after such hardship. And if you do, then this won't really be good bye. Poor Myrr'll be devastated again, but if Fate has it that you end up in Arux de Itmen again, I'll bring Myrr by so she can pay you a visit. Good Lord knows she hates being seperated from you for too long."
Solranous shook away what appeared to be another fit of tears, before he finally finished with that same line Artecaex said to him, and his own addition,
"See you on the other side. You know I'm a Shinigami and all, I can do those things." A smirk crossed his lips as his Bankai was consciously undone, now that the fighting was hopefully over. Solranous truly hoped Shive got back into Arux de Itmen, he really deserved for fighting through, figuratively, Hell and back.
And hopefully, the fighting would be over for, say, a month or two and all them can relax...
Knowing his luck though... Their next adventure was right around the corner...
Internally, he frowned at the thought of an adventure without the hair-brained, loud-mouthed idiot he associated with as a friend... It could be... boring... He hated boring and the dragonkin always livened things up...
...He'll just have to cope with it, and coping was the thing he did best... except for that part where he's a right nasty brawler and acted like a guard dog of epic porportions when Kisara's saftey was concerned...
'Note to self: stop thinking so hard about every little detail like I'm having a conversation with myself, it's scary...'

((*shrugs* Don't know what to tell ya.))
Shive smirked as the disintergration reached his neck.
"I hope so too. Dad'll give Bahamut a pissy-fit if I don't show up there. As for Myrr... tell her once again, I'm sorry. But I left her a little token to remember me by, just in case..." He stated, choking a bit.
He saluted Kaosu and Solranous with two fingers, stating,
"damnit! I should've gone out cackling like a madman! ...oh well. See ya."
The dragonkin then vanished without a trace. Well, almost... excluding the scale laying still at Myrr's feet...
* * * * *
A draconic figure, probably no taller than Solranous, scowled at the portal. He held up the Dusk Rod and hurled it high into the sky until it was sucked into the vortex, which then began to 'reverse', causing all of the demons who got through to be sucked back into it. Within a few seconds, the area was clean of the planar mess, but not of the destruction. The draconic figure placed his claws on his hips, then shook his head. He glanced up with two deep azure eyes, and turned to a gray-cloaked figure next to him, who held an hourglass. Chronos sighed, then bowed his head and restored the city to normal, as he had done so many times before.
The red clouds themselves vanished next, and the two entities sighed. The draconic one glanced over at Solranous and Kaosu, then smirked, muttering,
[glow=blue,2,300]"Oh don't worry. He'll be there."[/glow]
The two then vanished. However, only Chronos noticed a large shape drop through the point in the sky where the vortex was, robes fluttering about it. It landed on a building nearby and smirked under two blood-red eyes.
"So he's gone, eh? Sucky. Ah well, I'll just pick on the others." It stated, walking away.
((I say this with a heavy heart, but it sucked ass to kill off Shive...))
