The Gundam watched as the young man wallowed in his own sorrow. Crossing his arms, and turning to the side, the Gundam speaks, "If you remember her name, you do care for her..."
While pausing, the Eva looked at Burning Gundam as he looked away. "If you truly hated her, you would have forgotten her. Just leaving your memories of her behind and not leaving a trace in your mind. You remember her, it shows you have something for her. Maybe simply as a friend, an ally, one who is like you. Maybe she does shove you away, forcing you away with force...."
Burning Gundam turns his head to the side, speaking once more, "But may she's just like you. A soul who wishes, no, longs for a connection with another human."
Turn back, the Gundam looks to the ground in mediation. "Do whatever you want..." the Gundam says, "Just remember what I've said just now. And criticize me all you want O'Malley. EVERYONE in this land has felt sorrow. Different levels, yet the same suffering. It effects all of us...not just one..."
Burning Gundam looked away, turning his back towards O'Malley and the Evangelion. He hoped that Shinji would make the morally right decision, but at the same time, make his own decision and his own path.

Ignoring Burning's rebuttal, O'Malley glanced over his shoulder at Shinji in disgust. He issued a small growl, then turned to look at the night sky.
"You feel you should be wanted? HA! Welcome to the real world, child! It's full of dissapointment and hate! Don't expect shit from other people, or you'll be in for a big surprise... but... I suppose, there are exceptions. Hearing your rant earlier makes me believe this a bit more."
He turned toward Shinji, every one of his vents pulasting a deep red for a split-second.
"You were betrayed by your race, and while I'm surprised it hasn't hardened you, you have every right to feel wanted. It's in your nature. I have felt that pang every once in a great while... but you must understand something. There are people who want you in the right ways and the wrong ways. Your 'father' wanted you in the wrong way- to use you to further his own goals, so it sounds. Trying to make people want you only ends in resentment and anger. You must strive to find the people that want you for who you are... only then will you know actual happiness."
His shoulders shrugged as he gave a quiet grunt of a laugh. He'd faced the same problem before, but he'd found what he wanted amongst all the hateful beings in the cosmos.
"On that note, do you know for sure that this 'Asuka' really hates you? A lot of people act harshly toward those who've unintentionally become close to them, all because they're too scared to open up. And there's still the silver one to speak with... not to mention all the supernatural inhabitants of this city, some of which would be very pleased to meet you."
He then kneeled on one leg before Shinji, staring him in the eyes.
"You have to be willing to try... or you'll never know. You yourself must be willing to open up at least once, or you'll be more hurt penting yourself and rotting away emotionally."
He clapped a hand onto the side of Shinji's shoulder, then slowly rose to his feet, making his way to the edge of the island.
"I'm sure my... 'girlfriend'... as you call them... would like to meet you. And yes, even I have one..." He barked, picking up the black, winged pack he had before.
He then re-attached the contraption to his back, a fine gray 'haze' repairing the damage it had taken in its fall. Without looking back, O'Malley finished,
"I can give you the chance, boy... the chance to change your life. Help you meet those that want to be a part of that life. All you have to do... ... is ask."
His jets started to burn into life, a faint, glowing red shimmer starting to fill the air around him.
"But be quick about it! I'm a busy man, you know...!"

Shinji glared back at the ground, mulling over what was said to him.
"Its... too soon to really say... The last time I saw her ended badly... We only fought together because we had too... The enemy was too strong for just one of us."
The Eva shook his head. "What I don't understand is... how can you both handle it so easily? Your lives have clearly been crappier then mine, but both of you seem to manage it just fine... it doesn't make any sense."
'Maybe... maybe one of them really can help me? They... they know how I feel... they know it because they also went through it... I just don't know where to turn to...'
(OOC: Gwarf, blah post... could've done soooooo much better...)

"It...was hard for me at first," Burning Gundam said, still with his arms crossed, "But I came to the realization of if you don't act, you will know nothing but pain. If you keep living, you can know happiness. Not eternal, but happiness in itself."
The Gundam glanced at the Eva, "Again, it's your choice Shinji. Make your own choices in this world." The Gundam then awaited the answer of the Eva/human.
((Bleh...this post sucked....))

O'Malley gave a 'hmph' of a laugh, mentally smirking with his back still to the two.
"It is as Burning says... ... you know, there was a young man not unlike yourself that lived here once... he had a similar problem. Everything was taken from him- his friends, his family, even his life and humanity. He was in despair for quite some time, becoming a bitter, hardened shell of his former outgoing self. He had no idea how to live anymore... other than to take it out on any living thing he deemed hostile. He was rotting away both physically and emotionally because of it. He shunned all those left that cared for him, yet he did not care. All he wanted was a way to stop the pain, and he found one of the worst ways."
O'Malley's eye slid closed as he brought forth the memory of the Astral Harbinger and his host. Though he had never met him in person, the information gathered struck his emotions in a curious way.
"It wasn't until he was faced down by a threat that had wiped out entire galaxies that he finally realized something about life: You should enjoy it while you still have it. Only in his final hour was he truely happy again... for he knew he'd reclaimed the life lost to him."
He bowed his head, becoming silent for a moment.
"He died to protect this planet, and the belief he held of the species known as mankind. The belief that mankind could find its way back to its old self as well someday... because of those who still truely act 'human'. He himself even stated-"
He held up a finger, slowly raising his head.
" 'Mankind continues to live... simply because they CHOOSE to live.' "
He looked at Shinji over his shoulder, eye glowing curiously.
"Is it not true? Your species struggles to this day simply to live the lives granted to it. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... another quote I learned from the country we're residing in at the moment."
He slowly turned to Shinji, stretching out a clawed hand.
"So, Shinji... will you take that young man's advice...? And live? Live for the sake of living? To live for yourself... and... in time, others who care about you?"
* * * * *
Back in Tenkyanon, all the droids in the main control bay were listening to the conversation in emotional hysteria.
"I've never heard Boss be so kind...!" A droid exclamed in a choked tone.
"Who knew he could be this way?! Our very own leader, preaching about life?!"
"His speech... it's so inspirational...!"
Just then, the commander's own voice boomed over the intercom,
"GET BACK TO WORK YOU LAZY PRICKS!!!"

Shinji considered the responses he was given, especially O'Malley's.
'He's got a point... if I really wanted to die, I would've taken a gun to my head a long time ago... They didn't make me continue, for the most part, I chose to continue... damn, why didn't I realize that sooner?
Oh right, cause my bastard of a father was distracting me from that by making my life a living hell. Well, screw you, Gendo.'
The Eva got back to his feet and, had he not had armor around his head, would've smiled at them.
"Thanks... really." Shinji muttered to them. Turning to O'Malley, he responded, "I'd take you up on your offer, but I'm not quite ready to face Asuka and the other one yet. Maybe we'll meet up again sometime, or maybe you've got something that can help me get a hold of you and schedule something..."
The Eva then turned to Burning Gundam. "What I am ready to do, though, is take back my life and make the best of things. That is, if you'd let me tag along."
This time Shinji really did smile, although whether they could perceive it or not was up in the air.

Burning Gundam unfolds his arms, giving a "smile" to the Evangelion. "Of course. Wouldn't have it any other way my friend." the Gundam says kindly to Shinji, "By choosing your own path, you will endure hardships, yet you will know more about yourself."
The Gundam then extended his left hand, offering his friendship in full to Shinji. "I will help you once more stand up once more against the tides of darkness. As a fighter, as a teacher, as a friend. I'll teach you everything I know about living."
Domon then felt like a small flame was on his right hand. The crest of the King of Hearts burning brightly as he held up his fist to show the mark to Shinji. "I swear on it, as the King of Hearts!" he says to the Eva, the symbol also being proof that he would stand by Shinji no matter what.

O'Malley simply nodded in approval, his back-pack igniting once more. He tossed a small, black dome behind him, the device clattering to a stop at Shinji's feet. As the black droid crouched, about to take off, he snapped,
"That's a transmitter linked to my ship, Tenkyanon. Just click that button on the bottom and speak into it... someone will definately hear it, and report it to me. Understood? Call whenever you feel like it..."
With that, a low roar issued across the area before O'Malley burst off into the night sky, quickly breaking the sound barrier as was apparent by the low 'boom' that came shortly after. He was then but a speck in the night sky, of which, too quickly dissapeared.

The Eva regarded the last point he saw O'Malley for a moment, before leaning over to pick up the transmitter and storing it. Shinji sighed to himself, though the tone was clear that it wasn't from depression, and more like the opposite, he felt likke a weight fell off his shoulders as he walked to Burning Gundam, returning the gesture of friendship.
"Friends." Shinji confirmed, nodding. "Thank you... for everything you have done, and everything you will do, for me."
(OOC: Kept trying to tag some more words on at the end but nothing felt right. So that's that.
I think we've all said and done everything that needed to be said and done, so... [End Thread]
Conditional, at least, Fred can still tag something on at the end if he feels like it.)
