Volk watched as Lora tore one apart and did something he had never seen before to another. It seemed lifeless and yet it had no traces of having been harmed to the point of being a fatal wound.
Seems I was right that she had some nasty moves with that Aspect. Certainly don't want to be on the receiving end of that. But now we have something bigger to deal with though the ones left could probably make that changee as well if left to their own devices. Best take them out first so that our problem ceases growing, quite literally.
Not letting it get to him he went back to his attackers grasping Grosspoliner once more. He ran in next to one and cut its gut open with a spinning backslash before knocking it against the fallen tree causing it to splinter the trunk with its explosion. He backhanded another driving the spikes of his ice gauntlet into what would be its head. He removed his hand and began to pummel it with his free hand before stopping as it had been bludgeoned to a pulp and was fit to explode.
He didn't wait for it to explode but rather threw it towards the large one that had recently transformed to shut it up. Not wanting either of them to be caught by the large one he moved closer to Lora so as to watch her back while she took care of the other two minor beasts without the large one scoring a sneak attack while she was occupied.
"Well Lora we're almost done here just two small fries and the large one there. Let's wrap this up quickly and get on with more important things. Oh and nice job with the first Aspect ability", he called to the female Lycan.

Lora nodded in thanks to Volk with a smirk, kicking away the one she'd just used her first Aspect ability on as it continued to 'smoke', abruptly exploding upon death like the others before it. The last two shrieked and charged her, only to fall as she pulled off an impressive sweep-kick, tripping both then bringing her claws up and ramming them both into the air, the 'white flames' back as her claws sank into their chests. They too, 'smoked' rapidly, writhing and screaming before they too went limp, and Lora hurled them into the lake, whereupon they detonated simultaneously.
Meanwhile, the altered beast that Volk had thrown one of his dead allies at was gone. Not destroyed by the explosion gone, as in 'moved elsewhere' gone. That was until, it appeared next to them both, gurgling at them angrily. It abruptly shot forward then dissapeared again, and both lycans went spinning, as if struck, deeper into the lake as it did so, re-appearing at the shoreline, a wake leading in the water up to it. It gave a gurgling shriek at them, flexing its claws before as if to taunt them.
"That... little bastard!" Lora choked, hauling herself through the water back towards the creature.

Volk picked himself up out of the water and trudged back to shore with Lora. He setup himself with Grosspoliner in one hand and his gauntlet at the ready with the other. If he hated anything more than cowardice it would be sneak attacks using speed or camoflage. He may not have been hurt much but it was rather annoying for him.
As he reached the shore he growled at his pathetic excuse for an opponent. He sped in and slashed along the beasts arm encasing the elbow in a fair amount of ice. He then came back in from behind and slashed the backside of both knees covering them with ice as well in an attempt to slow down its movements.
He finished just a slight distance away from the beast. He was a little tired but he should be able to last so long as Lora and he worked together and took it down quickly.
The water that was on his body from being thrown into the lake had now frozen entirely adding to his defenses. Grosspoliner had even accumulated a small amount of ice and shimmered with the light. He stood awaiting Lora and the beast's moves ready to make a counterstrike should the chance be given.

The beast shrieked, then whirled around to face Volk, giving him that same unchanging stare as it tried to clench its frozen fist. As the unknown entity smashed the ice off of its knees with said frozen arm, a low, whispering hiss issued from its mandibles, just barely audible enough to be heard by the werewolf,
"The Worm are here... we'll succeed where our predecessors failed..."
At that moment, Lora had charged the beast's back, her claws ablaze with the life-draining force once more. She raised her right claw and brought it whirring back down... only to have the claw impact into Volk's chest. While the claws themselves barely managed to pierce through the coating of ice Volk'd gotten from the lake, the tips barely poking into the flesh, the energy surrounding them abruptly ravaged a good chunk of Volk's energy, visible as white 'smoke' issuing from the point of impact. Lora yelped, then quickly withdrew her claw, screaming,
"AUGH! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that! What the hell just happened?!"
The white lycan turned just in time to receive a chitinous fist to the face, sending her reeling several feet with a broken jaw. She whimpered in pain as her regeneration began to fix the problem, but was only knocked several feet into the air by an unseen force, grunting from the force before crashing back to earth. Before the cobalt lycan could respond, several unseen blows shattered two of his ribs, his left cheekbone, and crushed in his sternum inwards, sending the lycan flying dozens of feet backwards.
The dark-purple creature stood where Volk was just several moments ago, snarling at the two. Lora weakly attempted to get up, blood dribbling out of her maw as she did so.

Volk layed there a minute as his regen went to repair his bashed and beaten body. His ribs began to reset themselves in the proper position and the gash on his chest sealed up entirely. He stood up again despite the large energy drain Lora had accidently inflicted on him.
"I'm alright Lora we just have to be sure to pick our shots so we don't hit each other if he dodges. Do this and he can't win", he muttered.
He launched an offensive strike against the dark purple being hoping to prevent it's use of the speed technique it had used to cause the Lycans to hurt one another. He once again moved in close and hit it with an uppercut and just before he flew out of reach he bit down hard on its leg clamping down as hard as he could. As he bit down he could feel the bone starting to break and the ice that was building had just encompassed his shin.
He released the leg and pulled it down to the ground where he stabbed his gauntlet into its shoulder making the area a hole and freezing the inside of it at the same moment.
He pulled out and bounded away putting a distance of 5 yards between him the creature he had just assaulted. He watched it trying to look for some weak point he could target and end this with as little pain as possible. He hadn't been able to find anything since it wasn't visible when it had attacked. He merely growled as he got ticked off trying to discern how to eliminate his foe.

The creature staggered to its feet, definately looking haggard at the moment. It hissed weakly, and went to charge at Volk, only to get a furry white claw enshrouded in fiery white energy stabbed in its chitinous back. It roared in pain as its life-force abruptly took a nose-dive, but managed to elbow Lora off before it flatlined completely. The lycan dove at the creature once more, but it used its odd speed technique to get out of the way, its frozen leg impeding its speed. It snarled in anger at its condition, then swiped its arm at the two lycans, sending a barrage of needle-like spines at them. Said needles erupted in tiny explosions upon contact, sending both lycans staggering backwards, smoking.
It gave a faint gurgling shriek, then whirled around to exit the area...
"Jackpot...!"
There was a bright flash, and the creature gave a dying shriek as it fell to its knees, then erupted in a violet explosion of fire much like its compatriots did before it. Lora blinked confusedly, then looked in the direction opposite of her fallen opponent. The Gauru's keen eyesight picked up a figure on the edge of the beach, about 30 yards away from them. From what she could gather, it was wearing some sort of reflective, angular armor, and was holding some form of boxy rifle. It bore a tail...
"Whoo! damn-good aim, if I do say so myself!" It barked in a distinctivly feminine tone.
It paused, then nodded at the two lycans, waving frantically.
"Oh hi!! Sorry I took your guy's kill, but I know those things to be hostile... judging from your wounds, you already knew that. So... I'll get outta your hair! ...err, fur. Whatever. I'm on a tight schedule. G'bye!"
With that, the figure sprinted across the beach and into the trees, whereupon the revving of an engine could be heard. There was squealing of tires, of which faded into silence soon after. Lora simply gave a confused blink, then groaned,
"That was odd... and I hurt now. damned bugs..."

Volk pulled himself to his feet from the attack he had received. He let his Ice armor dissipate and had Grosspoliner shift back to his compact form. As he stood the area slowly went back to its normal temperature.
"Ugh I hate it when they pack sneaky attacks like that. Those buggers aren't bad until they transform like that one did. Just who the heck was that though and that noise was awfully loud", he commented. "Well we didn't do too badly did we not to mention you almost did whatever that claw attack of yours nearly wiped out the purple one whatever it is or was as the case may be."
He looked up at the moon just then and noticed it had risen and was glowing quite brilliantly. As he watched it he slipped back to his human form and turned to Lora.
"Are you alright? I don't know why but it feels like I've met one of your relatives before. Do you have a relative who is a Black Wolf and is just slightly shorter than I am", he questioned his female battle partner.

Lora swayed, shifting back into her human form when her regeneration had completed, and she put a hand to her head, wincing. When she caught wind of Volk's statement, her eyes shot open, and she muttered,
"Uhh.... yeah... I know a few... first that comes to mind would be my uncle... he's Packleader of the Darkwood pack... why? I assume you met him?"
She rubbed her temples, then abruptly fell backwards onto her hind, groaning.
"Ugh, so tired... that's not normal for me... mu-must've been the Aspect..." She yawned.
She looked back at Volk, hands on her knees as she sat Indian-style upon the sand.
"Yeah... you've got his smell.... look, I apologize for anything stupid he might've said... he is my uncle, but he can be a bit... 'exciteable' at times..."

Volk looked at her quizzacly upon hearing her last statement. Clearly she had gotten the wrong impression.
"Well you have nothing to apologize for. He was quite a bit more generous than he likely should have been. He actually offered me refuge among your pack. The way you describe him makes me think we've met completely different people", he told her as he flopped down on the beach as well to tired to stand. "So Packleader huh that really makes me wonder now why he offered what he did to me."
He had finally finished regenerating his body's damage and sat there in the cool night with the femal Lycan known as Lora. He didn't know why but he felt he could trust her and the one called Ashen. It felt odd for him and yet comforting at the same time. He gave a contented sigh having successfully completed his first battle.

Lora gave a laugh, replying,
"Well, yes, that does sound like him, but trust me, he's a goof-off a lot of the time... you just didn't see that side because he was trying to make a good impression!"
She snickered, putting her index knuckle to her lip as she restrained the laugh. She sighed, lowering it with a tired smile, adding,
"He's got a good heart, though, and I'd never put it past him to bring someone into his pack. Hell, as I said earlier, I was still new to being a lycanthrope a couple of years ago.... and yet, he took me in without question... if anything, he's been like a father to me."
She gave another yawn, then staggered to her feet.
"Well, Volk... it's been a pleasure meeting you... but sadly, I have to go now... I have to meet someone soon, and it's best not to keep him waiting."
She scratched her neck and sighed, looking down at the lycan.
"I highly suggest you look over my uncle's proposition... it may not be best to sleep alone tonight, in your condition... there may be more of those things around."
With that, she turned towards the trees and gave Volk a goodbye wave, smiling before dissapearing into the treeline...

Volk sat there in the darkness mulling over her words while he stared at the moon. Thoughts ran through his head at such a rate he almost couldn't keep up.
She's right I could use a group to stick with tonight since we both got battered pretty badly by those things, The Worm it said. I have a feeling that there will be quite a few more of those things in the future to come. I may look for him later but if I went in at this time of night I would likely be attacked by other members and likely killed before he could call them off. Guess I have an agenda for tomorrow then.
He had gained a slight bit off his energy back shifting into Urhan form once more and took off into the night headed back for the border of the Darkwood territory.
As he went he couldn't help but think.
That girl certainly packs quite a punch for her size. We may be meeting up again. Until then I shall be content with this meeting.
With that he vanished into the woods to find a place to rest in peace.
((End Thread))
