A Trap for the New Year

Shiryu breathed a sigh of relief as he picked up Mercurio who was still unconscious. He walked over to Lora and looked her dead in the eyes.

"Lora you have nothing to apologize for we are your friends and would gladly help anytime you need it, it's what we do. You helped me when you didn't even know who I was and for that I owe you a great deal. Without that small amount of help I would have been lost in this world with no clue what to do and who to ally myself with", he told her in a stern but comforting tone. "So shall we all be heading on our way now, I'm sure we'd all love to get back to our homes."

He stood watching everyone talk with each other wanting to get Mercurio to a comfortable place to rest as soon as possible. He couldn't help but feel when he looked at Lora that he hadn't seen the end of this problem nor would it be the last time he was involved in it somehow.

"Aye, Shiryu is right Lora, you need only to call for us, and we will come to you to help." Solranous said to her as he recalled his Zanpoktou with telekinesis, kneeling down next to her.

Kisara nodded silently, walking up to them as well. "Uh... well, I'd add something to the whole 'don't beat yourself up over something' conversation... but Shiryu has pretty much summed it up for the rest of us..."

Zeke walked up to Lora and said to her.
"This is all way over my head but if you ever need my help as meager as it may be. All you ever have to do is ask. You look like your beating yourself up about something. I don't know you but I know from experience that's a bad thing to do. If you ever want to talk about it I live in the rural district. Shiryu knows where." He looked over to Shiryu and said "Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm gonna head home. I'm supposed to get my last load of furniture and stuff from the movers anytime now."
He then walked off a short distance from the group and willed Wraith into a pair of giant white bat's wings attached by a series of white straps to his back and flew of in the direction of the rural district.

Lora shook her head, sighing,

"No, you guys don't get it.... those things did come here for me... and I know why..."

She slowly rose to her feet, eyes shadowed by her hair as she muttered,

"God, it's all my fault... I'm so stupid! I can see why the Elders made their decision..."

She glanced across the desertous rocks, eyes laying on the slight distortion of air in the distance that marked Machinima's barrier system. Her expression fell further, and she muttered,

"Well... guess I'll get outta here..."

She paced back across the sandy rock, and stopped for a moment atop a large rock formation. She stared up at the half-clouded moon, her eyes shining oddly in its light as she muttered,

"Thanks, guys.... for... for everything..."

With that, she shifted into her Urshal form, and sped out of sight.

Solranous closed his eyes for a few seconds as Lora ran.

"Well... it seems we must be on our way then, there is nothing more to do here..." With that, the dragon sweeped Kisara off her feet and took flight again, knowing the two Reapers would be behind them soon enough, as the flew for the Abandonned Distirct.

Shiryu stared into the distance of where Lora had ran off to as many thoughts raced through his mind.

'I hope that she stays well she's such a kind soul. Farewell Lora I don't plan on this being the last time we meet. Never forget that there are many people who are be willing to support you.

Shiryu then noticed Sol picking up Kisara and taking to the air with her in hand. He followed suit with Mercurio in his arms though his low energy reserves kept him from flying his fastest. The rest of the small groups flight home was uneventful and the sun was just rising as their homes came into view.
