Shive glanced at the downed Kyokan, but decided to let it go as he glanced up at the stage, clapping for the karaoke quartet with a smirk.

"Very good!" He shouted.

O'Malley and Lora clapped as well, as the latter began shuffling through songs she could use to get O'Malley on-stage like Kisara did with Sol the year before. She paused in mid-thought, then abruptly reddened, adding hastily,

Err, well... not quite like that...

Garrett was clapping now as well, having pulled himself off of the ground. Ryouki glanced at the teen as the quartet exited the stage, then nudged Garrett out of his seat, jerking his head towards the stage.

"You know you want to... besides, like I said... you probably need it..."

Garrett scowled, then sighed, pulling himself onto the stage. Shoulders sagged, he made his way to the mike, then straightened his back and worked his mouth before clearing his throat. Ryouki muttered the song to O'Malley, whose eye widened, but uploaded the song file anyway. Garrett's eyes narrowed as the music began in a soft, slow guitar tone, then rocketed into a thrashing melody.

Garrett's adrenaline was pumping at this point, eyes wide in almost a glare as he continued into the chorus,

The music then shifted into a slower guitar, Garrett keeping time with the music in his head.

The song shot back into its usual pitch as it returned to the chorus, a smirk slowly building on Garrett's face.

"Deeper, I'm fall-ing-

The tune changed into a slightly lower, but faster guitar for several seconds, Garrett breathing somewhat heavily before the next verse came up.

"The demoooons... of my own design~!

Garrett clenched his teeth, staring ahead as the song started to strike at his metaphorical core. Tears started to slide down his cheeks, but without losing any of his composure, finished with the last chorus,

He brushed at his eyes and choked for a second, then shook his head, regaining his composure as he walked over and hopped off of the stage, exhaling deeply. Ryouki nodded in a silent approval, and Varion... well, the watch was speechless at the moment.

Shiryu and Mercurio gave an applause for the moving performance from Garret. Mercurio then turned to look at Shiryu.

"Shiryu you should get up there and do a song. It's quite fun and refreshing, plus you have a pretty good voice yourself."

Shiryu sat and thought a moment. He finally decided just to go up and do it so he wouldn't have to worry about being prodded anymore.

He took the stage and waited for the sound file's cue to begin. Just before the song began he pulled out his scythe and instead made it take the shape of a guitar and turned of the guitar notes in the song. On cue he let loose with his voice drilling the lyrics with amazing precision and ripping the guitar sections.

Blaze stood up clapping loudly and cheering, as was Draco. the two shot a glance at one another then giggled before walking up onto the stage, Blaze fumbling the whole time. The red dragon walked over grabbed the microphone and seated himself behind a Piano. Eko formed and sat behind a drum kit, and Draco at guitar, they waited a moment as Blaze started with piano then sang.

Eko finished with drum as the stage was silence for nearly a whole minute. Blaze stood slowly and the fell, Draco and EKo burst out laughing as the drug him off stage and onto a chair.

"I LOVE that song....ALOT!! HAHAHAHAH!" Blaze passed out and Eko reformed with him. Draco sat next to the dragon and continued smiling, and watched everyone else enjoy themselves.

"A great performance Shiryu, especially after such a long time." Solranous commented to the reaper in question.

'Hmm... Fire... Fire...' Cynder thought to herself, before letting Solranous pick up on it.

"Hmm? What can I do for ya, Cynder?" The dragon asked via telepathy.

'I think I've got an idea for a song... something that might help with cheering Mortis up... I just wanna make sure the name is right, and to ask if you can help with the lyrics... 'Soldiers of the Wasteland,' right?' Cynder returned.

Solranous ran through the lyrics in his mind, before quirking a brow at Cynder, "That's nearly ten minutes long... you sure you can do that?"

Cynder nodded to the dragon, who furrowed his brows.

"Very well." the dragon finished.

Cynder turned to Mortis, releasing the azure wyrmling from her grip.

"Be right back Mortis, this is a little something I wanna do for you, maybe it'll help you know that I really do understand whats going on, and maybe it'll help you feel better..." Cynder told him, before bounding for the stage and jumping up.

Solranous grinned, 'Hit it hard, hit it fast.' he thought

Finding the song in question, Cynder let it play and quickly grabbed the mic, as the song started with words almost instantly.

"Burning fires burning lives on the long distant roads,

The black wyrmling started to tap with the beat of the song as it prepped up for the next part.

"Crossing battles, savage seas towards the mountains high.

Cynder started taking a breather as the song hit an instrumental section, all though she could hear the instruments playing as if they were actually there. She risked a glance back, but found nobody playing any of the available instruments. She then figured it was likely Solranous' work, kept up with the song as it fired into another string of lyrics.

The song droned into a lower pitched orchestra as Cynder caught her breath again, she could feel the 'fire' inside her heart burning true as she sang. She meant every word. The drums soon started up again and Cynder prepped up again half way after the guitar came in.

"Riding through starlight and smashing the boundaries as hellfire falls from the sky,
A shadow of pain will arise from the ashes of those fallen ones who have died!
Our only master with fire and fury of hell will see his bidding done!
Blasting from high as the battle unfolds to the gates of the city we come!

The sounds of the guitar and drums came in almost furiously now as the end drew nearer...

Cynder sighed as the song finally came to an end, unnoticably panting with the amount of lyrics that were in the song

'That better have worked for him... or I'm out of ideas...' Cynder thought, glancing towards Mortis and waiting for his response as she jumped off the stage.

Mortis blankly stared at Cynder as she stepped off of the stage, slightly awed at Cynder's performance. Her singing voice, the length of the song... why she did it. He knew it was an attempt to cheer him up, and it didn't fail in that attempt... but as to the message... she had said 'maybe it'll help you know that I really do understand whats going on, and maybe it'll help you feel better...'. His brow furrowed as he contemplated the message.

She's been controlled before, I know this well... is that what she's trying to tell me? She understands my problem? ... she's told me this before... so why again?

He abruptly snapped to, and smiled, adding,

She's just reminding me that she's there... we've all been through something like this.

He hopped down from the chair and snaked towards the stage, cocking a smirk at Cynder as he passed her on the way up to the platform.

"Thanks... I understand now." He whispered to her.

He then hopped up onto the platform and snatched the mike, clearing his throat as he stated,

"I-I'm not very good at this usually... but... I want to thank somebody for what she's done for me all this time... saving me from some very dark times..."

He smiled, folding his wings before himself as Shive slowly leaned forward in his seat, smirking. Mortis nodded to Shive, and the dragonkin restrained a laugh as the blue wyrmling continued with growing confidence,

"As some of you know... or may not know... in this realm, my name is that of the embodiment of Death's horse. My father of course didn't know this, because, well... he's from a different plane. However, I kind of like this ironic happenstance, and Shive now constantly refers to me with such morbid titles now... With that, I'd like to show you the song I believe a certain someone and I relate to the most... out of sheer irony."

The karioke music started playing, a steady guitar that eventually threw in what might've been a cowbell of sorts. Inhaling, Mortis then broke into song accordingly...

Mortis let out a combination of an exhale and a sigh, smirking as the song faded, and he glanced up at the black wyrmling.

"I'm no Purple Dragon... but believe me, Cynder... I will do all I can to always be there for you, as you've been for me."

A dark grin split forth from his smirk as he added,

"Not even the Reaper will stop me from doing so..."

He then slinked off of the stage back to his chair, Shive restraining a cackle as the wyrmling did so. O'Malley blinked, muttering to Lora,

"Well... that was interesting."

Shiryu and Mercurio sat in silence for a minute absorbing the emotion the two wyrmling expressed for each other before starting up a large round of applause for the pair.

Shiryu leaned to Shive and Sol, "Those two really feel for each other don't they. Such emotion and dedication it's really quite moving. I'm not quite sure how to react to this all yet."

Mercurio called out, "Wonderful songs you two. Absolutely touching right down to the soul." She turned back to the group a small tear in her eye, "Such a lovely display don't you guys agree?"

The pair resumed the usual activity they were doing before the round of karaoke. Both would keep this night in mind for some time to come in their new life in Nightshade.

"You can never really understand what they feel until you've felt it yourself, that much I can attest to." Solranous murmured just loudly enough to be heard, continuing, "Indeed a very beautiful performance..."

Cynder grinned at Mortis, "Who cares what color your scales are? It doesn't make a difference. We both need this, regardless of what anyone else says."

The two Myrrs sighed as they smiled at the display the two wyrmlings were essentially making there dedication to one another known to all.

Kyokan's eyes narrowed solemly, he had heard the song the onyx dragoness had done for the other.

'Perhaps... all is not lost for me... If I stay with these people... maybe... I'll find a new meaning...' the Eva thought to himself, lifting his head.

Shiryu and Mercurio were nice and relaxed now after meeting so many of their fellow warriors of good. The night had been a wonderful retreat from the daily grind of combatting evil. Shiryu looked around for a clock before finding one and noticed it was coming close to the new year.

"Well Sol looks like it's almost a new year to put down evil in. Here's to a glorious year past and a grand one coming and many new friends to help join the fight like Kyokan here", He said holding up his drink to the middle of the table for a slight toast.

He sat with Mercurio only giving her a look of what will the new year bring and received the all understanding look she had given him when he met her back in his ancient home. She only grabbed his free hand and cuddled against him a bit to try and put his mind at peace.

Great Mazinger, who had been watching for a while now turns to Burning Gundam and the recently arrived Gurren Lagann. Burning Gundam's eyes widen. "NO...I WILL NOT!!" he begins to yell, but Great interrupts him. "WE'RE ALL DOING KARAOKE!!"

After shortly discussing the matter, and a short match of Rock, Paper Scissors, the turns for singing were determined. Burning would be first, then Gurren second, and Great for last. Burning was forced onto the stage by the two other mechs. Burning Gundam sighs and begins to flip though the songs and then finds one that he wanted to sing.

The music began to start with soft drumming and the slow entering of an electric guitar. The music then hits a high point and then Burning Gundam begins to sing. As he sings, a human tone is in his voice. His original soul crying out in the song.

There is a short pause in the music, but the tapping of a drum sounds for Burning Gundam to sing once more.

There is about 30 seconds of an electric guitar solo. The retro style of guitar echoes through the room and then the music enters the point again for singing. This time, Burning Gundam took the mic and began to sing almost like a real human.

With that, the song ended. Burning Gundam was left standing with his right hand balled up with passion. He looks into the audience who were suprised that the machine could have such passion for the song. The Gundam scoots off stage with the sound of clapping from Great Mazinger and Gurren Lagann.

O'Malley was the one who clapped the most at Burning's performance, nodding in approval.

Even they can learn to be something other than fighters... He mused with a mental smirk.

Shive glanced over at Myrr and Xeno when the clapping died down, and abruptly his eyebrows raised, and a devious smirk crossed his face. He slowly slid out of his chair and under the table, dissapearing from sight, until he abruptly raised himself up behind Myrr and Xeno, a blank look on his face as he stared at the stage.

"Happy Anniversary..." Was all he stated before slithering back out of view.

O'Malley noted Shive bounding towards the stage, and he slowly sighed, shaking his head.

"What now...?"

In an instant, Shive was on the stage, fumbling with the mike until he managed to get a good hold of it, then stated with his free arm thrown out to the side,

"I do believe I need to pay homage to a pair of certain half-dragons I've known for about a year now... I only hope this small token of appreciation will reach them from my lowly, undeserving soul."

O'Malley slapped his hand against his face, creating an audible 'clank' noise before he dragged it back down his face. Shive either didn't notice, or didn't care before the music started playing in a slow guitar accompanied by a sort of drum. Shive inhaled, then broke out into a slow, even tone.

Shive smirked, exhaling through his nostrils as he hit the first short break, in wich the music slowed a bit before speeding back up into its salsa-rock-esque tone. The dragonkin inhaled deeply and went on,

He grinned as the song hit its longest break, glancing at the two Myrr's as the various instruments all hit a musical peak before slowing back into the refrain,

The song ended, and Shive let out several pants, then pulled himself back up as he saluted to Myrr and Xeno, stating with watery eyes,

"Wux jiil re wer byanl tiotegs... si tepoha rinov dah wer lutgarr di begni mrith."

With that, Shive hopped off the stage and sat back down, practically beaming with self-satisfaction. He just hoped the Myrr's liked it...

Gurren Lagann runs up to the mic after Shive goes off stage. He grabs the mic and yells into it. "ALRIGHT!! TIME TO ROCK AND ROLL!!" the robot yells and the song is instantly chosen. The sound of a guitar rises into the air and the air is fulled with the drum beats and guiatar riffs of heavy metal.

The same metal power that was at the beginning of the song returned for a few seconds. The music then lowers its speed for Gurren Lagann to sing once more.

The metalic chorus roars once again, bringing the crowd to stand. Gurren Lagann responds by "dancing" alongside the music. Suddenly after a few seconds, the music reaches a high point and sounds like it stops. As Gurren Lagann begins to sing again, the sound of a piano traces along side him.

After a few more guitar riffs, the song ended. Gurren Lagann pumps his fist into the air, signaling his karaoke turn had ended. Great Mazinger just sat there with his mouth on the floor. Burning Gundam mutters, "That was.....awesome!!" Gurren Lagann gave a big smile and waved as he walked off stage.

Myrr smiled, tears filling her eyes.

"Thanks Shive. Even if we don't see each other that often... It's still more then what most could ask for..." she replied to the dragonkin.

Xeno, however, screamed like a school girl and jumped the dragonkin, knocking him off balance for a scond or two, but neither of them fell over.

"Aw! You're too sweet!" Xeno cooed, nuzzling the dragonkin.

"Xe! Get off of him before he gets a nose bleed!" Myrr playfully called. Xeno sighed to dejectedly, but did comply with some hesitation.

"But I can't help it in situations like these!" the hybrid protested after a while.

Myrr smiled again, and chuckled, "I know how ya feel Xe, but lets... 'save' it for after the party. It's starting to wind down anyways." Xeno grinned when Myrr stressed 'save.' The half dragon walked over to Shive and smiled.

"I'd make a return performance... but I dreadfully regret that nothing's coming to mind. Xe and I will make it up to you one day."

Xeno nodded with this and swayed on her feet, smiling.

[Talon]

Shive grinned, pulling both into a hug and lifting them off of the ground. Rubbing his cheeks against theirs, he replied

"Ahh, that's okay, you two. You liked it, and that's all I wanted in return..."

He sighed, eyes going solemn as he pulled them in a bit closer.

"I've needed you two badly recently..."

Snapping out of whatever trance he was in, he placed the two back on their feet and went back to grinning, asking,

"After the party, hrmm? Might the New Year's first trip to the hot springs be involved?"

O'Malley clapped, surprisingly, for both Gurren's and Shive's performances, then checked the time. 11:55. He nodded, glanced around to make sure no one else was heading for the stage, then muttered over the Machinima-wide link,

"Boys, I do believe our cue is here..."

With that, Lora gave him a sly smirk as he hopped to his feet and bounded onto the stage, one of the microphones pulling back into the floor. O'Malley snatched the center mike and proclaimed,

"Well, seeing as it's almost the new year, we might as well end this party with something special, eh?"

A set of drums, and three guitars shot out of the floor, of which were taken by two blue-and-black battle droids (one guitar and drums), Nocturn (second mike and guitar), and O'Malley (final guitar).

"So, how about a band performance? I know, you've been hearing songs all night, but we think we're pretty good at it."

His eye narrowed, and he muttered in a slightly harsher tone,

"I know a lot of you don't like me, for various reasons. And I'm sure quite a few of you were reluctant to come. But, hear me out."

Nocturn and the droids looked at O'Malley in confusion as he went on,

"Yes, I'm a bitter, heartless person; I realize this. Will I change? Maybe someday. For all the things I've done, I might as well be one of the bad guys."

His grip on the microphone tightened, and he went on,

"I doubt I've been through anything as mentally and emotionally harrowing as most of you here, but the events in my short life have caused me to become what I am... used as a tool to further an organic's feeble, nonsensical wars, only to be tossed aside as soon as my use was up... hated for what I was by thousands of people... killing off organics, just to get filthy money from other organics..."

His voice lowered a bit, and he finished,

"F... forever fearing I'd be used again someday... *sigh* Look, I'm not asking any of you to welcome me as one of your own, or forgive me for what I've done... I just want you to understand."

His voice rose back to its normal tone, and he stated,

"So, instead of telling you my life story... of why I act the way I do..."

A nonphysical nod was given to his bandmates, and they started playing in a low, slow guitar, with what sounded like rolling thunder and churchbells pealing ominously in the background. O'Malley's eyes narrowed, and seemed to glow brighter as he finished,

"I'll just sum it up in this song..."

The guitars then slammed into a fast, rapid repetition several times before the fourth one seemed less fast, and... distant, somehow, before rocketing back into the guitar repetitions. O'Malley then roared in a spiteful tone,

No one to turn-to, and noth-ing to call-my-own!
Outspoken, so am I!
Explosive words that your world would-n't understand-

The song hit a low point, and several bursts of hot air erupted from O'Malley's heat-fins before the song rocketed back up to pace.

The song hit a lower point as Nocturn grabbed his mike, and after a pause, both he and O'Malley uttered in low, growling tones,

A maniacal unit of sub-human parasites,
Warped into a feeding frenzy at the smell of fresh blood...

The music went on in its slower pitch about half a second, before returning again, to that fast-paced guitar for the last time.

The music slowly faded, and O'Malley issued a mechanical sigh, before whirling his arm around at the main clock in the room. Just then, the minute hand struck twelve, and a large 'gong' reverberated throughout the room, at which O'Malley barked with a smirk in his voice,

"HAPPY-F*CKING NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!! Here's to hoping 2009 will be better than last year!"

Dozens of shouts of approval went up from the audience at this as the bots all filed off-stage, O'Malley being the last.

"You don't have to go home now, but you can't stay here!" He laughed before hopping off of the platform.

Shiryu called out in sheer approval of O'Malley's song and toast to the new year. He owndered how he would change in this next year in nightshade and what all would happen with him. All he could do at this time is appreciate all the other warriors that surrounded him all fighting for a similar cause.

Mercurio had fallen asleep on Shiryu's lap from the days excitement and wasn't about to be moved unless she had to. Shiryu sat and waited for Sol's group thinking it would be nice to head back to the abandoned district together and talk of the years events and what may happen in 2009.

Shiryu turned to Sol and inquired, "So Sol sound like a good idea to head back to the abandoned district as a group once the party is over. It would be nice to just talk about the events of the year and get them out on the way back I think."

Mercurio began to mutter in her sleep some slight giberish with some audible words here and there. It seemed she was hanging out with the girls of Sol's family for what might've been a girls' night out before she woke up and realized it was the new year.

"Uhhhhuahh... did I miss a performance or was O'Malley's the last one of the night so far?", Mercurio asked when she awoke.

Shiryu replied, "Oh you didn't miss anything special after O'Malley went up on stage." He turned back to Sol, "How about it then head home as a group once we're all done here?"

Solranous nodded, "Yeah, the party was nice, but we best be heading home now... However, we'll have to leave those two behind. They want to spend some time alone with Shive, as far as I see it."

With that, the dragon stood up and stretched his arms and legs. Kisara came over as well.

"I'll be going with you, in case god forbid something catches us off guard, I don't want you dying on me." she said.

Solranous grinned slightly and nodded, knowing there was no changing her mind on this matter.

The dragon the swept Kisara off her feet with a single arm and said, "I'll wait for you out side the base, and then we'll head home."

He Flash Stepped out side not two seconds later, now waiting on Shiryu and Mercurio to meet up with them again.
