Shive stood on the roof of his building, with his 'brother' Mortis mounted atop his shoulder. Both were looking grimly at the distant hilltop that bore the Graveyard atop it, and the red glow that emenated from it.
"I feel... we have a long, tough fight ahead of us..." Shive muttered.
"What gave you that idea?" Mortis muttered sarcastically.
Shive shook his head, thinking,
And just when some of our strongest forces... are gone...
Both of their heads bowed in solemn contemplation, and Mortis muttered,
"May the gods of Light see us through our darkest hour..."
Shive stared at the horizon, muttering,
"I doubt they'll be able to do much in this situation..."
* * * * * *
On the other edge of the district, the alien known as Elena stood on a rooftop, arms folded before her as if she were cold. The whit eeyes of Void floated in the darkness below her, and she muttered,
"Could you really... fight... your own kind?"
The demon uttered no response.

Myrr clenched her left hand into a fist, while her right hand held the helmet of her armor. The half-dragon stood a top the roof top of her deceased father's house, scowling as she focused on the same sight as Shive and Elena.
"damn that Cresence..." she muttered hatefully under her breath, putting the helmet underneath her arm as her daze hardened into a glare.
"Solranous... Why'd you have to die? When we need you most... You're not there... Not anymore... Don't you know we need your help? We can't get through this alone..."
The half-dragon sniffed, hanging her head as a tear dripped from her eye.
'But still... Who saved me?'

Great Mazinger appears from the shade, frowning at the light coming from the graveyard. His eyes reflect the aura, making his optics look like they were orange. The machine's arms are crossed and he stands on a taller building that was beside Myrr.
"God? Bah, God can't help us now." Great Mazinger mutters, "Only we can help ourselves. No one, not even god or the devil, can save us." Great Mazinger knew this ten fold. God couldn't save his brother Mazinger Z, and the devil took his other brother, Mazinkaiser. He had no respect for dieties anymore.
Great Mazinger turns around to fly away, then stops. He hangs his head down in dispare. "I've got to prepare. This time, one of us will die..." he mutters to himself.

Shive nodded solemnly to Mazinger's statement, then he glanced over at Myrr. His shoulders sagged at the sight of her, and he sighed, muttering something to Mortis. The wyrmling nodded, almost scowling as he hopped off of Shive's shoulder and back into the structure. Shive then hopped down the street via rooftop until he landed next to Myrr, glanced at her for a few moments, then looked back towards the graveyard.
"I'm sorry, Myrr... I know what you're feeling right now. Anger, sadness, futility... I have only these to say: You know your father'd want you to be strong at a time like this. You'll get your revenge on this 'Cresence', but you can't do it alone."
He sighed.
"And... if you need someone to talk to, you know where to find me."
He was having some difficulty trying to hold his composure together at the moment, putting together everything that had happened, as well as what may be happening now. He raised ahand to place on Myrr's shoulder, but stopped himself, letting it fall. He knew it wouldn't do any good.
I hate seeing her like this... I wish there was something I could do... He thought, staring off to the side.

"There's a problem with that... Shive." Myrr replied, turning her gaze towards him and softening it as much as she could. Seeing how Shive wasn't going to say anything, waiting for her to continue, she did.
"I almost had him... He was getting desperate... And then he transformed... If it weren't for some timely intervention... I wouldn't be here... He's too strong... He could probably even match you in sheer raw strength alone. Combine that with the telekinetic abilities he has... And we have a beast stronger then a certain daemon could ever be. And that's just his base form... I don't have a clue how powerful he would be if he transformed while fighting again. I think... the only one who stood a chance of defeating him... is already gone."
Myrr sniffed, and then collasped against Shive, crying freely. If she had said anything after that, it was unintelligible, muffled by the sobbing as she clung to the dragonkin.

Shive blinked, then wrapped his arms around her back and hugged her an a futile attempt to calm her down.
"He may be strong, but we also said Armageddon was strong... we said the Patriarch was strong... we said Draethik and Nazo were strong... and they both met their end eventually.... because we were determined..."
He paused, then uttered a strangled cry as something broke through his chest, its bloodied black point close to Myrr's face.
"I couldn't help but hear you mentioning a certain daemon... tell me why you think this entity is so strong? Please. Your father was PATHETIC. ANYONE could've killed him with the right strategy. Hell, the black construct almost killed him, but chose not to." A familiar voice hissed.
Shive, gritting his reddened teeth, jerkily glanced over his shoulder to see four purple eyes staring back at him. His eyes widened upon finding uncomfortable similarities in this assasin's face...
"Been a while, but you still recognize me, huh? Kinda HARD TO DO, after the TORMENT I WEN THROUGH! Because of you, I was turned into some archdemon's GUINEA PIG!" The beast roared.
With a jerk, he ripped Shive away from Myrr, the black blade still jutting out of Shive's chest. The attacker then kicked him off the blade before swigning his free hand forward, slamming t into Shive with enough force to launch him onto the next rooftop. The entity stepped into view, given by the dim, distant light of the Graveyard occurence...
Though he bore the general shape of his old form, Daedalus looked almost nothing like it. His scale coloration had turned pitch-black with a few streaks of gray, and he wore an organic-looking dark-gray armor. Said armor was composed of chitinous plates, each plate having a rough, jagged appearance. Long spurs of bone erupted from his forearms all the way up to his shoulders, each coated in a thin layer of dried blood. His wings appeared broken and mangled, their wing-skin tattered and barely hanging onto the bones. His mane had become thicker and longer, now a dark red color streaked with dusky shades of purple. His face had changed the most drastically, and, quite visibly, for the worse. Instead of two eyes, he now had four eyes; however, each pair appeared to be one eye from a distance. His bottom jaw could now split into three, each jaw lined with serrated, shark-like teeth. He bore a tusk jutting out from either side of his jaw. Though he still retained his extra horns, they were a bit longer, and curve forward much more, gaining a jagged appearance. He bore a cluster of five ropy tails instead of his single, each of which ended in a small claw. Covering his right forearm appeared to be a 7-foot long blade of sharp, black chitin.
A wicked grin spread across his face as he turned to Myrr, snarling,
"What was a few months here has been an eternity in the Abyss. Every day, for what has seemed to be a millenia, I was poked, prodded, disembowled, eviscerated, kitbashed, sewn together, stabbed and torn, drained and refilled. Every day was an endless nightmare of agony and torment that I prayed would end... but no salvation ever came. In other words... THEY CALL IT HELL FOR A REASON!"
He lashed his left arm at Shive, allowing what appeared to be a long, thin tendril snake out of his wrist and wrap around Shive's throat, yanking him to his feet and hauling him towards the once-dragonkin. Daedalus's maw opened, allowing a purple haze to billow out before Shive was immersed in a wave of dark-red fire, his cries of pain echoing across the region. The fire stopped, and Daedalus sank his jaws into Shive's shoulder, ripping out a hunk of flesh before he kicked the dragonkin away, and off of the structure. Said dragonkin landed with a 'thud' on the street below. Daedalus barked a laugh, then turned his hateful gaze back on Myrr.
"And yet you... haven't changed a bit..." He hissed, his snake-like tongue licking his chops.

As if to prove Daedalus wrong, Xeno-Myrr took Myrr's shadow, and reformed her body, snarling at the former dragonkin.
"Oh, we've definitely changed, you just didn't notice." the two Myrrs spoke simultaneously.
"Xe, you think you can hold him off while I get my armor?" Myrr asked.
"This guy's tough... no guarantees, but I'll try." Xeno-Myrr replied.
"Thanks..."
Myrr suddenly jumped off the roof, and before Daedalus could charge at him, Xeno-Myrr made the first move, punching the former dragonkin in the face, sending him stumbling away, though not fazed by the pain, do to what he endured. Xeno-Myrr decided not to hold back and use all her power from the get go...
Which included activating her Hyper Mode. The now Phazon-charged hybrid roared as she made a mad dash for Daedalus. The hybrid punched her foe again, sending him off the building as well. The hybrid charged after him, drop-kicking the daemon in the gut, slightly winding him. Xeno-Myrr snarled, and got her foot underneath him, and launched him back into the sky, then jumped up after him, planting her knee into his face and throwing him back again. The hybrid landed next to Shive, and passed a concerned look at him, before returning her attention to Daedalus.

Daedalus swayed to his feet, grinning with that disturbing maw.
"OH! We're full of spunk tonight, aren't we?! All the better!" He roared.
A brief glow surrounded his form for a moment, then he rushed forward and slammed his fist into Xeno's stomach with such force that she was 'impaled' on his fist, so to speak. Her acid didn't seem to have an effect on the demon as he grabbed her by the face with his free hand, beginning to exert pressure in opposite directions in an attempt to rip her apart. He let loose a loud cackle, hissing,
"My my, it seems you're falling apart! Has the gecko's death been THAT much of an impact to you?!"
Daedalus's left arm then fell off at the shoulder in a spray of blood, making the demon snarl in irritation. Shive was back on his feet, panting through the blood in his mouth as he raised Ragnarok, growling,
"Ragnarok- Fire Aspect."
The blade then erupted in a burst of flames, the fire parting as soon as it had come. Assuming the form of a greatsword, the blade had been tinted a red-orange in color, and both edges are serrated. The guard resembles an open flame made of black metal, and a single ruby is set into the center. It'd been downsized to roughly 7-1/2 in total length. Shive's face was as hard as diamond as he slammed the hilt square into Daedalus's face, earning a squirt of blood. He kneed Daedalus away from Xe, forcing the demon to let her go as Shive followed up with a flurry of punches and kicks, then continued with a rapid storm of sword slashes and jabs.
Blood and flesh freely fell from Daedalus's body, yet he felt none of it as he returned every one of Shive's blows with the blade on his right forarm, his tail-claws, knees, and feet. The resounding cracks of bone and sounds of blood spattering on pavement bore itself into the minds of all those present, yet both combatants went on without a word.
"Little brother's gotten stronger... good. You might stand up to me for once. Doubtful, but you might." Daedalus growled, still grinning.
Shive merely narrowed his eyes, muttering,
"You've just gotten uglier. Do us a favor, and go back to Hell."
Daedalus sneered, lashing forward with the arm blade and ripping Shive's left arm off. Wordlessly, Shive tossed Ragnarok in the air, grabbed the arm before it could fall, and promptly clawed Daedalus across the face with it before kneeing his brother in the chin. He tossed the arm aside as Ragnarok fell back to Earth, and was swiftly picked up by Shive as the fight rage don.

Myrr had come back out, the armor, except for the helmet, which was still in her hand, on, as she saw what was happening in the fight. Had she not had a long life experiencing such gut-wrenching scenes, she would have puked by now, but instead just put the helmet on, staying on the side-lines in case Shive needed some help.
Xeno-Myrr coughed, and looked as Shive and Daedalus clashed, disengaging Hyper Mode to save energy, and to not accidentally overload her PED. Mostly the latter, if she had to be honest. The hybrid stood beside Myrr, watching the fight, and deciding only to intervene if Shive looked like he was about to lose.
As it was now, to them, it seemed the fight could go either way.

Shive roared as Daedalus snapped off one of his cranial horns, which he responded with by ripping off Daedalu's right-most jaw. The ground within a 30-foot radius was slick with blood as the two went at it, then both slid backwards, aiming their free hand at eachother.
"BURST PYRE!"
"ELDRITCH HAMMER!"
A mid-sized explosion enveloped both combatants, the smoke clearing to show both of them charging at eachother, clashing once more. Shive threw a fist forward, slamming it into Daedalus's face and snapping his central jaw, forcing Daedalus to retaliate by driving all five tail-claws into Shive's stomach and out his back. Shive hefted Ragnarok as the blade began to glow red, and he choked,
"Meteor Pyre..."
Dozens of miniature explosions enveloped both combatants, but Daedalus was the one sent sprawling backwards, almost nothing holding him together, pieces of his charred flesh falling freely.
"Amazing how much harder you can fight when ya can't feel pain, eh? I'd love to keep this going, but... I'm needed elsewhere. Till next time!" He hissed, using what little mouth he had left.
With that, he propelled himself into the air, narrowly dodging another Burst Pyre from Shive before vanishing from sight. Shive scowled in his direction, then, just as he turned to face Myrr, promptly collapsed face-first into the puddle of his and Daedalus's blood.

Myrr scowled after Daedalus as he retreated, then went to Shive's side, hauling the dragonkin to his feet and keeping him upright. Right now, she didn't really care if the armor got stained from the blood, Shive was vastly more important to her.
Xeno-Myrr joined in, helping Myrr carry the dragonkin into his house. Once that was done, the two of them tended to Shive's wounds as best as they could, Myrr finally realizing just how much they relied on Solranous for such things... If it weren't for him, a lot of the people who have been badly wounded... would probably be crippled for the rest of their lives, if not dying outright from them...
And it just made the half-dragon cry again, for remembering the mighty emerald wyrm...
After a good deal of time, they managed to treat a good amount of the wounds, so that Shive wasn't losing blood any more, but they couldn't do much for his lack of an arm now...
If only Solranous wasn't dead... He'd be able to fix this...
(OOC: The losing an arm thing seems very familiar to me *coughKaijucoughGalaxycough* and I understand that I've kind of turned Solranous into the medic of the group for those unlucky enough to not have regeneration, like poor Shive.)

((Heh, I didn't even recall the arm thing till you brought it up P: and Shive'll get by. If not, THEN TO THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL WITH HIM!))
"Do you really think we should help them? We don't even know them, and you yourself said they allied with O'Malley. So why?" Void muttered to the fox anthro.
Elena and her unseen companion were standing across the street from Shive's place, the former staring at it with uncertainty.
"It's obvious by now they're good people, even if a bit misguided." She muttered.
Her head lowered, and she added,
"They're going through a hard time, it seems... everyone in that structure is emenating negative emotion... it's the least we can do for them!"
The demon's white eyes glanced to the side, and Elena sighed.
"Please?"
Void grumbled, then nodded, making Elena smile.
"Now, if only we can get them to let us-"
She paused, glancing around. Void was already at the door, banging on it while groaning,
"Oy! we can help your friend, you just gotta let us in!"
Elena bowed her head, smacking her palm against her forehead.

((Myrr: NOOOOO!!! *looks at Shive* You better pull through this!)) Xeno-Myrr heard the knocking and what Void said, before getting up and walking over to the door. Myrr, seeing that Shive was as stable as she could hope for right now, went to remove the armor, starting with the helmet. Only now did she notice that her armor was blood stained. 'I'll clean that up later... when we're not in a potentially life threatening situation for someone.' she thought, shrugging the fact off. Xeno-Myrr opened the door to Void's knocking, and upon seeing them, replied, "You can really help? What are you two waiting out there for then?" The last bit was sarcastic, as she let them in. Myrr looked back at the two, and her eyes slightly widened. "So, you two came back, huh?" Myrr asked, shrugging off the last bit of her armor, now in her casual attire. She moved the armor away from Shive and stood to the side. "If there is something more that one of you can do, please do so... He means a lot to me... As much... as a certain some one else meant to me..." Myrr continued, her eyes closing. She glanced in the general direction of the volcano, before returning her gaze to Elena and Void.

Told you. Elena muttered telepathically.
Shut it. Void responded.
"We'll do what we can." She informed Myrr.
Elena and the massive shadow next to her stepped next to Shive before Elena narrowed her eyes, then pointed as Shive's sternum.
"There." She muttered.
Void nodded, then a massive black claw that seemed material yet etheral at the same time reached forward and 'phased' into Shive's chest. The dragonkin grunted in his unconscious state as Void pulled the claw back out, and with it... an unwelcome guest. It appeared to be a tan-gray slug streaked with black, and several spiny legs. On its underside was a blood-stained maw, with several sharp, needle-like teeth on either side of the maw.
"I believe this would be the main problem..." Void growled, crushing the thing in his shadowy claw.
Thick ooze spurted out of the demon's clenched fist before the corpse just... vanished. Meanwhile, Elena had her hand place don Shive's forehead, muttering something below hearing level. Standing back up with a smirk, she held her hand out to Void while still looking at Shive. Void blinked, then threw his large arms in the air.
"OH COME ON!" He protested.
"You promised you'd help, now DO IT." She muttered irritably in response.
Void grumbled something and Elena flexed her fingers. Muttering something, Void shook his barely-visible head before he seemed to 'dissipate' into a smoky substance, of which coelesced into a baseball-sized sphere. It seemed to harden, then she kneeled back down to Shive.
"See ya in an hour!" She informed the ball.
"Shut up..." The sphere grumbled.
With that, she promptly pried Shive's jaws open, and tossed the ball in. Letting the fanged jaws snap back shut, she rubbed Shive's throat, forcing him to swallow the sphere. Shortly after it was ingested, Shive twitched slightly, and... his wounds began healing! Rapidly! Not only that, but his severed arm was slowly regrowing! Nodding, Elena rose to her feet and crossed her arms.
"With any luck, he should be fully recovered in a bout half an hour. Though, Void doesn't do much for lack of energy, so he'll probably be worn out when he does wake up, which may be a while." She stated.
With that, she headed for the door.

The two Myrrs sighed in relief when they heard, and saw, that Shive was going to be alright. Likely before the attack, making things certain that they're chances of victory didn't deteriorate further.
"At least something seems to be going right for us... but how the hell did Daedalus return?" Myrr growled.
Xeno-Myrr sighed, "Its not that unlikely, he could have been revived in that new form, making him even stronger then before..."
"Unfortunately..."
"So... What do we do now?"
"You have to ask? We watch over him, and make sure nothing else gets to him. Void maybe able to heal his wounds as of now, but I doubt he can keep rehealing wounds that keep getting opened up. So we'll have to make sure nothing attacks Shive..."
With this, Myrr pulled out what look to be cleaning supplies out of no where, and started tending to the armor, cleaning it quickly, before putting it on again.
"Last time I got caught with out it, and look what happened... not gonna make the same mistake twice..." Myrr explained as the helmet once again covered her head.
Xeno-Myrr sighed, 'Why can't i get some cool armor to give me more battle capability without possible back firing that could make me insane, or worse, kill me!?
... Ok, the insane part is worse, cause I'll just come back as long as Myrr is alive. Now I'm REALLY greatful that I didn't take that creepy man up on his offer for a body of my own, instead of living through Myrr's shadow.'
The hybrid's eyebrows furrowed as they kept themselves on look out.
